Eberflus and staff need to be fired

I am sure Bears fans are dreading the coaching announcement as I am when these organizations never do anything right.

I can put up with Vrabel but I'd be lying if I said I was excited about the prospect of hiring him but the names mentioned for the Jets opening are so disgustingly bad that I am just hoping to not completely despise who they pick as I have every other coaching search this century.

Who are they saying besides Glenn and Smith?

I blame the Lions for not hiring Saleh when everyone thought he was a lock for the position.

That guy is a grade A douche. He came home to Michigan...I work with a few of his friends and family... He is saying he got fired because of wearing the Palestine flag on his hoodie. I laughed at them when they told me that..I said that's far from the truth.

I think that was the final straw but he should have never been hired in the first place. Woody never liked the guy and wasn't even the one who hired him.

Kliff is a wild card. Great offensive mind. Just thinking maybe he's learned with experience. He's not been in the NFL that long.

Vrabel is a helluva coach. Look at the Titans now. He had them in the playoffs yearly just about. If he had a good QB he might have a ring.
there are some coaches that are just best suited to be a coordinator rather than HC and Kliff is one of those guys. I'm not sold on him as an OC even but to your point he has a lot of room for growth and experience. Vrabel would be really good i think, would need to nail the OC hire

Good points. Ben Johnson could be in the same category as Kliff, we just don't know. Vrabel would be fantastic in Chicago imo.

Everyone says the same thing about how great Vrabel is "but he's got to nail the OC hire". If a coach is really great you know they will hire a good staff. When the Jets trade for Kyle I am not even going to worry about who he hires because he's a great coach who I fully trust to get things right.

To me the two worst open or soon to be open jobs are Chicago and the Raiders. The Bears are going to have to compete in the best division in the league where Detroit, Minnesota, and Green Bay look to be good for a long time and who wants to compete against Mahomes/Reid, Harbaugh, and Payton. At least with Chicago you can make an argument that Caleb is a future star which I very much question but the Raiders have no QB and are competing against three of the best coaches in the league.

I would have to question the intelligence of Ben Johnson if he turned down the Washington job which was a great opportunity just to take on a Bears job in a rough division. Jacksonville will be a great opening being in a trash division and even the Jets can be turned around relatively quickly with Buffalo being the only team in the AFC East that is any good.

Is this guy giving out fake numbers?

PFF definitely has its plusses and minuses IMO

He does have high time to throw but watching enough he is completely rattled in pocket. Ive seen this for years as CHI never has had a good OL.

That pass block grade is bullshit lol. I subscribe to pff and I wish the data was more accurate

The other thing is in aggregate is a trap. There were games when OL fully healthy and he played very well. Injuries and awful play calling….

He needs the offseason at this point to reset. Kid is rattled, seen it with Cutler, Fields too

I still think its way too early to give up on Caleb but I don't think that job is attractive at all considering the division and questions about the QB. Jacksonville is the spot to go with Trevor possibly being good and the division being a joke.

Money. Big market. Caleb.
He just turned down a way better job in Washington with a better QB. Don't mean to rip on the Bears too much since I'm a fan of the biggest joke franchise in the league but from a neutral standpoint that job is not attractive at all.

I mean what made Washington better entering last year? Was equally a joke and these are professional coaches. They want to be a HC inevitably and turning down upwards of $50MM because of a bad season mostly tied to awful coaching…

All things considered the Bears are desirable. High potential QB, 2 talented WR, top 10-15 defense as is, big market football city, and $80MM in cap…

Most (all) candidates will consider Chicago. Meeting Poles, Warren, Ownership… that will be the deciding factor. But the talent and general setup is a great situation to build.

I mean… its a job opening for a reason. Not like Chiefs, Ravens, etc gonna have an opening.

Top 10 pick, 2 early 2nds too. I could see Poles trading a future 1st to get back into rd1 this year too. It is all-in time.

Washington has better ownership and probably a better front office.

This draft is one of the worst I've ever seen. If the Bears want another top 10 pick I'd be happy to trade the Jets top 10 pick and move down to get the Chicago 2025 first rounder.

Well there's a HUGE difference between those two coaches. I wouldn't worry about who Vrabel hires with his defensive staff

Outside of Poles fleecing Carolina, what has he done to build the roster? Guy took a punter in round 4. He should be on the chopping block as well come Monday.

Nothing. He didnt even fleece them really. If they took stroud over young it becomes closer.

Ive shit on poles for 2 years and i got told im an asshole. Im just not a blind dumbass

It's still early

Young might well be better than Stroud 3 years from now

Poles is awful. In no specific order:
- Claypool for a 2nd
- Darnell wright over jalen carter (when this gift fell into their lap and 3 tech huge hole)
- Hired Eberflus
- Nate davis
- Montez sweat was fine. Trading a 2nd to pay a guy elite $$$ is not a brilliant move. I wanted them to just pay greenard, keep the 2nd
- refused to pay for OL even after orlando brown jr fell into lap at a discount. Cushenberry, etc
- traded for shitty OL like bates

List keeps going. Hes shit. And now hes doing same stuff as eberflus. Eber didnt want kliff as an OC bc threatened.

Maybe. I just dont think it was a fleece and that narrative is bc young was awful year 1. Niners traded 3 1sts for trey lance

Oh for sure

I just think we've got fun times ahead with all the first year expectations theses days and now it's obvious what Darnold and Geno have accomplished once they moved on from the Jets. Be curious to see what Trevor can do once Jacksonville trades him for pennies on the dollar

Just happen to have ESPN AM show on and these guys are ripping the Bears for considering Ben Johnson
Why consider Ben Johnson when the real star coordinator for the Lions Aaron Glenn is available. It still amazes me how stupid people are and you know there is an agenda when Glenn is getting pushed for anything though I will wish him well if he ends up with the Saints. Johnson should do the right thing and bring the Jets back from the dead.

Stay away from AFC. Mahomes Allen Burrow Jackson. Let alone Herbert Harbaugh. NFC North a nightmare. Of course goal is SB win. Doesn't leave much i know. Probably just take the guaranteed money lol
