Eberflus and staff need to be fired

CHICAGO -- Shane Waldron has been fired as the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator less than 10 months after being hired for the job.

The Bears announced the firing Tuesday, one day after head coach Matt Eberflus promised "changes" and "adjustments" for the struggling Bears. Passing game coordinator Thomas Brown has been promoted to offensive coordinator.

Someone has to be the scapegoat.

I wonder if this plays out like the Jets. Where coaching staff changes make things worse
Very possible.

We've seen it all.

Sometimes a coordinator change provides a spark. Many times, nothing happens.

Coach of the Bears is certainly on the chopping block so he has to try ANYTHING he can at this point.

Not trying to pile on, seriously... But wow

Not piling on at all, it is entirely the GM and coaching here. It is a story as old as time in Chicago. FO hires passive HC who don't manage the team, GM's get QBs but no OL (and usually no WR), and they always always always have incompetent OC.

Cutler had talent and for 3+ years they were bottom 3 OL. Ruined him. I love that national media is FINALLY picking up the sad state of the Bears. Look beyond Caleb and see how they are using DJ Moore this year, all of his routes are like 5 yards LOL

The Bears franchise reminds me so much of a certain team that I am all too familar with. The bottom line is its pure stupidity to draft a QB high and saddle them with a defensive head coach who almost always has no clue and hires an OC that is an idiot. The first step to salvaging Caleb is to hire a head coach from the offensive side of the ball and then rebuilding the offensive line and if that doesn't work its the QB just not being good.

Not that I was in love with him but kingsbury was an obvious OC hire bc of caleb. Didnt get easier than that

I just can’t believe they draft Caleb, give him weapons, and left the same idiot coaching staff in place. Is it really that hard to figure out?

Poles is overrated af. Eberflus as HC could of been 'ok' because he is good at defense and all they needed to do was get an OC. There were great onces to choose from clearly from Kubiak, Kingsbury, Cunningham, etc.

Waldron. The failed OC from Seattle. I still remember when they hired him and the Smith-Njigba video.

Chalk up another winnable game to shit ass coaching! Bears will be a playoff team next 5 years and Caleb a top 10 qb if they could get coach right but the bears front office incompetent so even if they fire this loser I doubt they get it right.

Completely assume Fat Mac is at the top of their Xmas list

Eberflus shouldn't have been allowed on the plane home, the last 32 seconds was a lesson in incompetence at its finest. This kind of clock management doesn't happen at the Pop Warner level, lol. and the guy even defended it he should b gone STAT.

Never will a Lions victory over Chicago be a greater blessing for Bears fans

I don’t agree w cowherd often but last week he was saying the ot loss to Vikings was like best thing that could happen, we got to see Caleb look good, then bears blow another win able game getting this loser coach one step closer to out the door!

Think I saw Keenan is planning to go back to the Chargers.

Even so you gotta think Odonze will blossom in 2nd year with a good coach. Still plenty of weapons with him and Moore. Like to see them draft another and a running back, swift to wishy washy and fragile.

Allen I think was very important for Caleb this year but going forward he aging, often banged up and expensive.

Yeah I'm sure he'd much rather spend his twilight in LA with Herbert than keep trying to help Caleb grow in the Midwest

No doubt. And if bears by some miracle actually get coach right he won’t be as needed as he was this season

Now comes the danger with going the interim route. If Caleb plays well down the stretch and the team wins a few games Thomas Brown will keep the job.

Is that the guy who just took over as oc? He has made a drastic improvement in Caleb so him sticking around not horrible but doubt he ready to be head coach. Bears tend to be as bad hiring coaches as picking qbs, think they finally got qb right but can they actually come up with right coach? Bring in Vrabel and put brown back to oc, I could get behind that.

I'd bet Raiders fans never thought that Antonio Pierce would keep the job and look how that has gone.

The bears need an offensive minded head coach. Someone that can reign in and coach Caleb. The talent is there just needs to be brought out.

If I was a Bears fan I'd be rooting against them the rest of the way. If they end the season well Thomas Brown is going to keep the job and that will be a big mistake.

Great point…just look at the Raiders. I forget who but other people here predicted this would happen…he does well last year and hamstrings the team into future mediocrity.
