Someone has to be the scapegoat.CHICAGO -- Shane Waldron has been fired as the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator less than 10 months after being hired for the job.
The Bears announced the firing Tuesday, one day after head coach Matt Eberflus promised "changes" and "adjustments" for the struggling Bears. Passing game coordinator Thomas Brown has been promoted to offensive coordinator.
I wonder if this plays out like the Jets. Where coaching staff changes make things worseSomeone has to be the scapegoat.
Very possible.I wonder if this plays out like the Jets. Where coaching staff changes make things worse
Whats the difference the rest of the staff is all but fired.I wonder if this plays out like the Jets. Where coaching staff changes make things worse
On brandIts comical they are replacing the worst OC ever with the OC from the panthers last year
When teams like the Bears with incompetent offensive coaches draft QBs its sure to fail. If Chicago doesn't bring in a head coach that understands offense Caleb has no chance of success.

As a Lions fan I'm sure you can relate, but if they don't have an offseason like they need to next year focusing on the OL, I will stop paying attention to them.On brand
Not piling on at all, it is entirely the GM and coaching here. It is a story as old as time in Chicago. FO hires passive HC who don't manage the team, GM's get QBs but no OL (and usually no WR), and they always always always have incompetent OC.
The Bears franchise reminds me so much of a certain team that I am all too familar with. The bottom line is its pure stupidity to draft a QB high and saddle them with a defensive head coach who almost always has no clue and hires an OC that is an idiot. The first step to salvaging Caleb is to hire a head coach from the offensive side of the ball and then rebuilding the offensive line and if that doesn't work its the QB just not being good. Not piling on at all, it is entirely the GM and coaching here. Cutler had talent and for 3+ years they were bottom 3 OL. Ruined him. I love that national media is FINALLY picking up the sad state of the Bears. Look beyond Caleb and see how they are using DJ Moore this year, all of his routes are like 5 yards LOL
Not that I was in love with him but kingsbury was an obvious OC hire bc of caleb. Didnt get easier than thatThe Bears franchise reminds me so much of a certain team that I am all too familar with. Poles is overrated af. Eberflus as HC could of been 'ok' because he is good at defense and all they needed to do was get an OC. There were great onces to choose from clearly from Kubiak, Kingsbury, Cunningham, etc.I just can’t believe they draft Caleb, give him weapons, and left the same idiot coaching staff in place. Is it really that hard to figure out?
Completely assume Fat Mac is at the top of their Xmas listChalk up another winnable game to shit ass coaching! Bears will be a playoff team next 5 years and Caleb a top 10 qb if they could get coach right but the bears front office incompetent so even if they fire this loser I doubt they get it right.
Never will a Lions victory over Chicago be a greater blessing for Bears fans
There are going to be so many openings.
Think I saw Keenan is planning to go back to the Chargers.Bears job gotta be the most appealing to an offensive mind. They have a lot more to work with than most teams firing coaches!

Yeah I'm sure he'd much rather spend his twilight in LA with Herbert than keep trying to help Caleb grow in the MidwestAllen I think was very important for Caleb this year but going forward he aging, often banged up and expensive.

Now comes the danger with going the interim route. If Caleb plays well down the stretch and the team wins a few games Thomas Brown will keep the job.
Sheesh. Do the Bears really care this little about getting a good coach and ultimately about winning?
I find this hard to believe. I am surprised Quinn got on the plane. This is really crazy when you think about it more.
Great point…just look at the Raiders. I forget who but other people here predicted this would happen…he does well last year and hamstrings the team into future mediocrity. If I was a Bears fan I'd be rooting against them the rest of the way. If they end the season well Thomas Brown is going to keep the job and that will be a big mistake.
