Races like this are why I don’t bet horses long term…I keep trying to figure out what angle I missed here and I am completely mind boggled. My old man is retired and lives in Florida. Does pretty well at the track even in his mid 70’s, he was at the Barca game in Spain this afternoon and he just texted me what the fuck!!…that horse was completely out of his league in this race…I question how was he even considered as an alternate. Maybe it was tough finding someone to fill in on that late of notice. Crazy stuff

One of my dad's best friends bets .50 cents on races at the casino, and I used to make fun of him for only doing .50

He finished third in the Jeff Ruby for 20 points, but other than that there was not much to endorse. He'd run at Turfway all winter and along with Barber Road were the only two former maiden claimer in the field, and Barber Road was nowhere to be found today.

The only angle I could've recommended was he had a zero in the Quirin speed points, and its not unusual when the pace runs superfast to see the zeroes rally for the win......but that's more an angle for claimers than the top quality horses. Plus nobody was predicting a blowout pace with the field made up of almost all stalkers and closers. A fast pace sure but not sub 22 and 45 & change......I thought the timer was broken.

One clue to take away in the future is when they talk about a horse like Crown Pride and his rigorous workout routine, I'm going to take that as a sign towards a breakneck pace.
 
I still like the fact the horse tried banging the female horse on the track after he won. Then bit her for declining

Tirico kept calling the female a pony? Is that what you call a female horse?

I still don't know why Crown Pride chased that horse when he sat way off of him in Dubai. I'd make that rider swim back to France. He actually didn't run that bad considering.

Epicenter was pretty gallant in defeat. Probably moved too soon. Looked like Zandon was gonna go by him but didnt. Just got Mind that Birded.

No female horse is filly or mare. The 'pony' is just a generic term for the horse that the the person trying to hold the horse so the jockey can be interviewed. Most 'pony s' are geldings though. That precisely why you dont want female pony horses.

The next to last race in the contest, the Preakness, is upon us! Past performances for the nine horse field are attached. Though the Derby winner has opted out, we do have the Derby runner-up AND the Oaks winner, along with a few new shooters including Chad Brown's Early Voting.

Pub owner is flying today PHX London for the match Sunday in Manchester...3 hour drive from London lol

This weekend is more bananas than necessary, think he's flying home right after the match
 
My Black Eyed Susan tiers

"A" win candidates: 6,7,10
"B" win candidates: 5,12
In the money (3rd/4th) candidates: 3,9,13
Tossing: 2,4,8,11

Looking at some supers keying 10 across the board and using the others in their logical spots. Other option is two bets where 3/13 are keyed in 3rd spot & 4th spot with the other used above.
 
Just woke up with a stubbed toe and a torn rotator on the non throwing arm.

Love the 10 in the BES
 
10 got beaten to the first turn, needed to see the front. 9 was not a crazy choice but had never seen a fast pace, hard to know what she could do. 1 and 11 are more stalkers than closers, nothing from the back was able to make up much ground. Something to remember for tomorrow. Probably need to be in top 3 and within a couple of lengths of the leader on the 2nd turn to have a shot.
 
So only Bench Coach and I had Early Voting in the Preakness picks, and no one took the favorite and 2nd place finish Epicenter. That leaves the standings heading into the Belmont Stakes as shown below:
