But what high end coach would want to take that job without knowing who the prez is? Pretty obvious that coach/AD/President at successful programs are all on the same page, and the wrong president could come in and look to replace the coach. Not ideal. Would bet several people would pass over USC due to that and make them look even more silly.

Plus they know they would be going against Colorado for a coach this year. No university wants that competition.

It goes both ways though, regardless of cash a good coach could be stuck working with an administration he hates if they refuse to buy him out. Just hire a damn president.
