BAR and Hunt Discussion of The Rose Bowl Game...

I might be dead wrong on this game. Seeing the sec speed for the first time today against a big ten team with Iowa getting killed.

Probably nerves but a concern.

As they say in boxing, styles make fights. Tennessee is nightmare fuel for a team like Iowa. Pace, huge splits, etc. Iowa is built to be competitive in the Big 10 and keep games close against the teams that have more talent than they do like Michigan, Penn St, and Ohio St. They have no chance if a team can make it a track meet.

That being said, I don't that much can be gleaned when it comes to our game. Alabama isn't an elite offense by any stretch, though I do think there will be more athleticism than maybe Michigan has seen. That's probably equally true, if not more on defense. Today is going to be about who makes the big play and capitalizes on opportunities at a better clip. My biggest concern is that we have one of those stretches where we go 3 or 4 consecutive offensive possessions where not only do we not score points, but we don't get an first downs and end up giving Michigan multiple opportunities with short fields

Exactly my concern. Michigan built for big ten too but I have the OSU game with Stroud in my head still. Then I think of tcu. Head just spinning.

Can't really compare shit i guess but Iowa has their true team out there unlike some others from big ten.

Bama is only going to be more open in space the better milroe gets. Just afraid it's sooner than later as a Mich ticket holder

Not discounting but Iowa and speed isn't exactly conducive.

Iowa would be fading a bit better vs Milton.

What's crazy for me is I see a couple 3rd and 4s being the difference. Either side.

I'll get a feel live and bet accordingly.

Think it's a 4th quarter game though.

I do think that how the line has been through this process at least makes me happy to have smart vs public money backing the hometown team.

Yeah it's a strong line for UM, no doubt

Oh, for sure.

The number has stayed flat or gone up a bit with an Alabama public push.

Shall see. Should be a fun game.

I like the surface - vs. an indoor dome game like Atlanta or New Orleans or something like that.

There's a ton of variance hard to predict in this game for sure, too. Milroe takes the worst sacks, and still doesn't operate anything short/medium to any normal standard, but has the best deep ball in football.

They essentially lost to a team with a QB who was 5/16 for 90 yards in Auburn...

That's a big thing...

Michigan likes to bend and not break this year and the last few.

Unlike Don Brown teams.

We'll see how that meets up with the excellent deep balls from Milroe.

All the comparing B1G teams vs SEC (or other bowls) is moot. Sure iowa sucked and mediocre wiscy took lsu to wire…

Or go back in time when everyone said big cant keep up with sec speed and OSU raped teams with zeke…

.@UMichFootball has moved from -1.5 to -2.5 today.

"We took some sharp bets today on Michigan. However, it's still really heavy 'Bama money coming in."

Point I'm making is whoever wins the game people just will say it was because of "SEC speed" or "B1G toughness". These are 18-20yr old kids, game is lined basically a pk because that is what it is. Game will boil down to execution and/or who makes an insane big play or two... or sometimes just who fucks up terribly

It’s a legit concern imo. SEC has dominated BCS and playoffs for a long time now. 3-0 so far this season in the NY6 as well. That being said this is Michigans best team in a long time and Bamas worst in a while I think. Could go either way.

Problem is.

OSU easily wins cotton.

Ole Miss PSU is a PK

Bowls can't be used for capping.

Congrats bama backers.
Ditto.

No reverse jinx.

Michigan special teams awful.

Awful decision to have wrong PR back there today.

And most of all, let them stay too close in 1h.

Well deserved. Bama played ball position and field 2nd half.

Like you guys said this team just fine ways to win and they did and that’s exactly how they wanted end the game with there D. Terrible play call by bama but congrats guys enjoy the ship

Hell of a win. I had a feeling Bama would let me down. Would’ve been a lot better if Georgia knocked em out. Hope Michigan or Washington wins it now. Good luck next week.

It wasnt USC-Texas but it was 2nd to that considering the implications. If both offenses would have done more it might have surpassed USC-Texas

@B.A.R. and @HUNT Congrats on the win fellas. It was well earned. A lot sloppier on both sides than I envisioned, but an entertaining game nonetheless. Really could have gone either way, but I knew we were cooked when it went to OT. Enjoy the win, and please take it easy on me in the coming months

You're a class act. Won't bring it up to you ever.
