No president = no coaching change, it's that simple. Gotta get their shit together before they make the move.
But what high end coach would want to take that job without knowing who the prez is? Pretty obvious that coach/AD/President at successful programs are all on the same page, and the wrong president could come in and look to replace the coach. Not ideal. Would bet several people would pass over USC due to that and make them look even more silly.If this is the excuse then it’s pretty lame
The same influential people who will certainly have a say in who the next president is are the same who are listened to regarding the football coach
It goes both ways though, regardless of cash a good coach could be stuck working with an administration he hates if they refuse to buy him out. Just hire a damn president.Is job security really a big concern for high profile coaches who are paid an insane amount of money and negotiate huge buyouts?
