Excellent, you guys already know the program.

Post any players or coaches that may have relevancy in the bowl game and I will add it to the list.

Some of the players and coaches may or may not be with the team for the bowl, that is going to be hard to nail down exactly, I encourage anyone to do their own digging on that and if 100% certain a coach or players intentions I can add it to the list.

Do not post any game discussions here. I have to say that or 2dabank will show up and start posting all kinds of bowl thoughts. ;)

Mark Whipple just resigned at Pitt and will not coach bowl game. I’m not sure if this will affect KP‘s status for the bowl game but I would watch closely. Here is a quote from KP earlier this year:

“If he was gone or if he wanted to retire or if he wanted to take off and play some golf — he loves to play golf. He's really good, too. Way better than me. I suck. If he left, I was definitely leaving,” Pickett told the Post-Gazette in June. “He's like family now. His opinion, I mean, if he told me to leave, I would've left. He's a guy who's seen it all and done it all.”

University of Tulsa defensive coordinator Joseph Gillespie is leaving for the same position at TCU, a source familiar with the situation confirmed to the Tulsa World on Tuesday.

Gillespie, whose departure was first reported by On3Sports, is taking cornerbacks coach Carlton Buckels with him, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. That makes three vacancies on the Hurricane staff, with offensive line coach Zach Hanson joining Lincoln Riley at USC.

I bet a bunch of games early and am probably going to regret it. Have to keep an eye too if these guys remove their names from the portal before the bowl game and stay with their team.

Think a lot of them are just going to feel what kind of market they have out there.

Is the coach that took HC responsibility for the Noles game going to be HC for UF in their bowl? If so, he is NOT being retained. How much will he be into this while trying to find a new job, move his family, and purchase a new home?

Some of the assistant coaching positions and if they coach the bowl are very difficult to know, at least at this date. Many of the news sites reporting the moves don't know.

Chad Muma, a Butkus Award finalist, will be on the blue turf playing for the Cowboys in the Potato Bowl.

Muma, an all-Mountain first team selection, follows in the footsteps of current Buffalo Bills franchise quarterback Josh Allen, who played in the 2017 Potato Bowl, and current Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson, who played in the 2019 Arizona Bowl.

“I never really questioned in my mind whether I was going to play in a bowl game or not,” Muma said. “Logan is similar to me in thinking that we play for Wyoming, so we’re going to go play our last game. Of course I’m going to play in a bowl game.”

Muma ranks second in the FBS in solo tackles (6.7 per game) and fourth in total tackles (10.8 per game). He also returned two of his three interceptions for touchdowns during the regular season.

Could see Frost and Whipple having a rocky relationship? Whipple comes across to me as very strong headed and firm in his beliefs.

That is about as thorough as I can make it as of Tuesday night here. Will be so much more to update over the course of weeks! Post it up and I'll add it to the list.

From what we are hearing, it seems the prospect of either playing vs. Tennessee is minimal. No official word yet, but it's trending toward Purdue being without both.

From Tom Deinhart (regarding Bell and Karlaftis)

Treylon Burks from Arkansas is opting out and declaring for draft

Oh fuck off dude.

Great chance to throw for 500 and improve stock.

I’m so disappointed, I thought for sure he would play. It a freaking New Years 6, im just as interested in watching those as I am the stupid playoff! Here the thing, it all meaningless in the grand scheme of things, I don’t remember or care who won the natty any more than who wins any these other games! I would remember him torching sparty for 500!!

The bigger question, though, is finding replacements for receiver David Bell and defensive end George Karalftis. Brohm said Sunday night the pair won’t return next season, but no announcement has been made if Bell and Karlaftis will play in the bowl game.

It’s unlikely they’ll participate in the game, electing to begin preparations for the NFL Draft.

That is from the Star Press today.

Still no official word on their bowl status?

As of Wednesday, it remained unclear if Knowles will remain on staff at OSU through the Jan. 1 Fiesta Bowl; the program had not yet publicly addressed his imminent departure.

two players transfering from WKU (WR and OL) are expected to play in bowl game per HC Helton. OC Kittley expected to coach and call plays for bowl

It’s not “official” but it’s way more than tea leaves I have from Tom Dienhart whom is about the only one the staff chats with outside the team that they aren’t expected to suit up. I’m considering them out.

Oklahoma's two best defensive players--at least they were predicted to be their two best before the season started--Perrion Winfrey and Nik Bonitto, opted out

Bonitto was projected as a first round pick and had been a great player, but played so poorly this season ESPN now projects him as a free agent. Winfrey played okay at times, but disappeared at others

Makes perfect sense.

Add DL Isaiah Thomas--led the team in sacks and TFL the last two years--and MLB Brian Asamoah to the opt outs for the Oklahoma defense.

So that adds up to two starting DLs and two starting LBs opting out so far.
