Cowboy's may have hit on a major score swiping Christian Parker from the Eagles to be their new DC. The guy developed Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell, has Patrick Surtain as a fan and is a Fangio disciple. One of their biggest holes on defense is having a well-coordinated pass defense. This guy appears to fit the bill. Now they need to add some talent.
He’s like Jameis but not really playing around.
I'll take any coach who was in the room when the Eagles were talking CBs for the 2024 draft. It helps when talent wise you have 2 of the 5 best corners. Mitchell was a can’t miss. Cant believe he didn’t go higher.
Twas only a matter of when, not if, as far as Minter making the move to HC.Good for Baltimore to have a solid defensive mind again
I would assume that this is simply to help Rivers get his feet wet in the NFL coaching circles. If Bills bring Philip Rivers the power dynamic rests and remains firmly firmly with the GM.
Instead of bagging on a two time MVP I'd really enjoy your take on who Baltimore should accommodate.Im not sure I’d want to accommodate anything Lamar wants with the stories we hear about him.

Cut Lamar and draft a QB?
You say some stuff and I appreciate that at least.
Without him they are the PanthersI’m just not rolling over to accommodate a guy that doesn’t seem like a good vested locker room leader.
I’d definitely consider blowing that thing up if I could get 3 1s from a poverty franchise in return.
The Panthers are a playoff team that appears to have a good coach so you might need to refer to real laughingstocks like the Browns and Jets.Without him they are the Panthers
I actually like a bunch of what the Ravens have but not accommodating Lamar because of a personal bias is ludicrous and he knows itThe Panthers are a playoff team that appears to have a good coach so you might need to refer to real laughingstocks like the Browns and Jets.
this will not be another 19yr hireFat Mike with another chance.
I give Mike a lot of shit...My best friend is Dallas fanatic and I remember him suffering through the McCarthy era well. Winning 1 SB with Rogers in his prime is NOT good imo, let alone his Dallas tenure. Of course I think John Harbaugh winning 1 SB in 18 years in Baltimore is NOT good either, as well as not winning bigger with Lamar and King Henry. But what do I know. IMO a disaster choice for Pitt. No Coen, Vrabel, MacDonald, Johnson here.
Impossible to not look at it as a bridge which is crazy given the franchise historyI give Mike a lot of shit...
Some unfairly.
With the Cowboys, I felt they hung on a few years too long.
He was very good in GB overall.
If you want to look at this as sort of a bridge hire -- fine -- I understand the lack of hot names this year or up n comers. Let him keep the ship steady and then find your next long term coach in a few years.
I'd hope that's the plan but I could be just hoping for their fan base.
Hey, maybe he'll prove us wrong. This just didn't move the needle for me.
I wouldn't call Vrabel a total retread.yeah, just a total boring hire. In general I don't like retreads. Vrabel has been great though. Only hire I like so far is Minter. Not a Stefanski fan but know a lot of folks like him. If Pitt was going this route I'd have thought Flores.
Aghhhhhh you wouldI wouldn't call Vrabel a total retread.
One coaching job only -- and he was successful there but simply had hit the wall at that job. That's what generally happens in the NFL at a certain point.
Retreads is these guys on opportunity 3-4-5-6.

funny you say this as I hesitated to include him. Agree.I wouldn't call Vrabel a total retread.

Man I think it's the opposite, like they've finally figured out it can take 3 years to rebuild and easy scapegoat after 2 years to bring one home.I think this is Pittsburgh basically saying they still think they are a contending team and don't want to have the patience needed for a young coach. Its more a negative in that organization not thinking they need to draft better and get younger than a reflection on McCarthy.

If you've ever caught a fish that came in with no fight on its side....that's what this isBingo ..Two of my die hard Steelers fan buddies wanted Flores , they certainly didn't want McFarthy
I really trust our GM and think something bigger is brewingMcDermott would be great hire for any time climbing their way up .
Shocked to see Lafluer shooting upwards
I really trust our GM and think something bigger is brewing
Not sure i agree with you on needing patience with younger coach. Look what Coen did with Jacksonville, Johnson with Chicago and MacDonald with Seattle did in 1 or 2 seasons. In football it just has to be the right guy imo. I see more .500 ball for Pittsburgh with McCarthy, maybe worse if they don't get decent qb.I think this is Pittsburgh basically saying they still think they are a contending team and don't want to have the patience needed for a young coach.
