Black Monday- Kubiak Raiders

I'll take the Steelers hire over these two. Apparently Shula's interview did not go well. It will really come down to the DC hire imho. If the can lure Schwartz or Allen from the Bears it will be a huge upgrade over Austin.

Don't know how I feel about Brady being HC ..The offensive numbers are good , but is that Josh , Jimbo and the solid O line ?

Better put a solid staff together on the other side of the ball

It just don’t make a lot of sense to me. feels like firing McDermott wasn’t a very well thought out plan, more so a spur of moment whim by another twat owner. I’m not even a huge McDermott fan, It just goes against my philosophy firing a guy when ya don’t have a clear upgrade lined up. Playoff disappointments and all I have a hard time believing this guy is an upgrade over what McDermott did for a team that was total shit when he came in.

It was a spur of the moment decision, Pegula came out and said it. He said because so many guys were crying and Josh was basically inconsolable, he knew at that moment he needed to fire McDermott. What in the actual fuck? That was really his explanation though.

Why you don’t even wait to interview Kubiak is mind boggling, if THIS was the direction they went. Joe Brady was still going to be an option 2 weeks from now, it just makes no rational sense whatsoever. It is NOT surprising though to anyone in Buffalo, and probably around the league at this point.

I don't mind it thou . McDermott drove me facking nuts. Saving his timeouts for next week , or blowing them on plays where they weren't warranted . Often he'd drop into that bs prevent d zone shit with a one score lead or two score lead with a ton of time left .

Should have be an insta firing after 13 seconds ...My then 10 year old was even screaming "SQUIB SQUIB SQUIB " ....

They did interview Phillip rivers and Davis Webb. that just screamed “these guys know what they doing”!! Safe to say Brady didn’t have a super high bar to clear!!

I wasn’t against firing McDermott, the fact his defenses often been the cause their failures is pretty damning. Just woulda thought they coulda did better than a guy already in the building nobody else seemed all that interested in.

There’s something odd about Klint (Seattle) Kubiak. His brother seemed like he’d easily get a job but he decided to stay under Shanahan and likely get a pay raise. Can’t blame him. If Klint doesn’t get a job then he’s just really not impressing during these interviews or he has no intention of leaving. If he’s capable, Raiders would have to want him and he’d want to be there, right?

I sort of don’t get it.

That organization became one of the more laughing stocks with how they handled his firing and then put the blame on a 23-24 year old “bust” who is still under contract for 2 more seasons. Piss poor. Allen should demand out.

Oh yea the Coleman thing is all kinds of messed up. Obviously you don’t say that shit bout a kid still on your roster and secondly you never gonna convince me McDermott had more to do with that than the gm and oc who now hc!!

It’s tough to gauge whether he’s impressing in interviews when he’s not going to be able to have an interview until 2 weeks from now when most positions will already be filled. Him not getting the one or two jobs left when he finally gets to interview shouldn’t be an indictment on him necessarily.

He’s had multiple interviews but yes they can’t have a “final” interview until the Hawks are done playing. He could have accepted a position I believe, though. Not sure how that works.

Brady is getting a good look at him and wouldn’t surprise me if this is who they are waiting on for the Raiders.

He's been a great coordinator back to his time at LSU when he developed Burrow into a great QB. I would be quite happy with the hire and just hope he gets the DC right because that unit has kind of sucked considering McDermott is a defensive coach.

Schwartz is probably getting the Cleveland job and why would Allen leave Chicago.

Sounds like Kubiak is getting the Raiders job.

Sounds like Jim Leonard is going to be the DC.
Loved him as a high IQ undrafted safety when he was here as a player ..

He’s a Wide 9 guy. No better roster to propel yourself into a HC conversation again than a healthy 9ers squad. It will look like he rebuilt them but likely they’ll just resume their top 5 unit form with the returning help and free agents. I think they’ll go hard after him.

9ers sign Morris. Pretty happy with that. Doubt gets HC consideration regardless of how good the defense is this year. Knows the division well.

Obviously thrilled with the LaFleur hire but per usual have to keep it in check with this franchise. Changing the culture is still fairly recent and has shown it's a tough nut to crack with Bidwill as owner.

Omg. What a shit show.

With that said he probably could come up with the best offense for Fields? Not even sure if Pro Bowler Fields is coming back?
Fields declined that last min pro bowl invite so he could keep doing his off-season work.

As antiquated as Roman is, he actually wouldn't be terrible for Fields.

All that being said, the Jets really don't need EITHER of them.

Would you rather have Morris or Shwartz?

I’m happy with either but I like Morris because he doesn’t run a wide 9. I think there’s now 10 years of tape from the 9ers and their personnel running that system. When one pass rusher goes down the entire defense can’t just be given a pass and if you can’t get home with 4 in the wide now then it’s a pretty crappy scheme to run. Morris utilizes pressure and is a coverage guru. Won a SB and had the Falcons playing elite defense this season. Very happy with the hire and he knows the NFCW very very well. Plus he’s great friends with Kyle.

Dud you're happy with everything Niners so that question was irrelevant. You do well to church up your fandom. That's a great skill and one I try but my teams aren't known for success.

I wouldn’t have been happy with Gus Bradley!
It's like you're trying to kick me in the nuts before we hire him.

I guess that's what you need to survive.

We get 80 something degrees today and still act like cunts while you armchair QBs do the cutn thing we laugh at

You have been marked safe from Gus Bradley. He’s going with Bob Saleh to Tennessee.

I don’t know what the rest of that means but it’s like 5 degrees here and sucks.

That's a huge game for Melbourne. Wonder what time it will kick off and more importantly, wonder how many nights it will take to get back to a regular sleep schedule.

Feels like this is the best "off-season" discussion we have going right now.

First game ever in Aussie. Will be a home game for the Rams. 49ers will retain 9 home games. But they lose their annual free 10th home game, aka in LA.

Seems dumb to have a division game as an international game. Especially in Australia. I don't know. I'm not a fan of either team.

What are your feelings on this as a 49ers fan?

Won't be long before this greedy ass league will be playing 5-6 or even 7 nights a week ..Maybe 20 regular season games , including 2 per week on some other planet or a space station ...
They act like they give a shit about player safety , but all they care about is making every fucking cent they can.
We're opening a new stadium next year here in Buffalo/OP ( Seat licensing should be illegal), they're doing everything they can to price out the real fans. ..Soon enough it will be mostly corporate , the extremely wealthy and people who sell a kidney to go .
