Black Monday / Coaching Carousel Thread...

Davis pretty much has to hire Pierce. Players seem to like him. He is respected around the league. The team has looked much better since he took over. What am I missing?

Bears better get a real OC, Eberflus I can see them keeping
You'll get a new offense when you hire a new coach and not until then. Eberflus is a typical defensive coach that wants to win his way which means playing conservatively on offense and thats extremely unlikely to change.

He directly asked for more explosive plays and never got. He is not controlling the offense and frankly the GM/execs will push this harder.

Moores comment after the game says it all.

Saleh, Allen, belichek (not a bum, but still fire him), pederson? Eberflus
They said a couple weeks ago that Saleh isn't going anywhere, I doubt Allen does either

Pretty sure Bill is gone but they're probably waiting for him to find his preferred next gig out of respect

Pederson? Lol

Would think Eberflus is gone though

I'm hoping to see a bunch of DC hired as head coaches so there are as many offensive coaches as possible available for the next coaching cycle.

I'm guessing Harbaugh leaves on top and goes to the Chargers but that would require a cheap ownership to pay the 20 million or so it will take.

Not just that but they won't give him the kind of control he'll likely demand

Pretty sure that's why Payton chose Denver

Pierce had the Raiders playing very hard. But that style needs more substance long term. Would lead to mediocre 8-9 seasons for years to come.

JH needs roster control? He never had it in SF.

Owners change. Look at York and SF. Maybe the cheapies in SD throw JH the bag.

Redskins roster is bad. Really bad. Not sure I’d take that job. Maybe.

Pierce is why you don't fire guys midseason; they are now almost forced to give him the job.

Probably the best thing that could happen for him though, Tits don't seem like they have a plan and haven't for several years
He better have a good GM with him in New England because they sure as heck haven't had a plan since Brady left. As great a coach as Belichick is the job he did with the roster is amongst the worst in the league.

Helps to have the #2 overall if you're starting fresh

Eberflus is expected to stay but some chatter that Vrabel hitting the market they are reconsidering

Just because hes not a skinny white guy with glasses is all people seem to want anymore

Leader of men with good coordinators is best case imo, and AP has a chance at that

If they do the right thing and trade up to take a qb, would be a playoff team, won 8 games this year with fucking AOC as qb last 3 months, won games where he didnt complete passes in 2nd half

The vrabel thing makes more sense when I saw that the new GM they hired last year wasnt the guy vrabel wanted and campaigned to get the job

I’ve been on board for a few weeks and kind of feel the same. 1st NFL HC I can recall rocking diamond earrings. It’s LV! Take a chance dammit!!

I think he’s young enough to work with good coordinators just like you said. Remember Singletary at SF? Hard as nails and obviously respected but he couldn’t relate to newer generation. I think he’s a good mix of tough player/oldish school yet can relate to the younger players.

Vrabel a very good coach in my book. He won’t be on the market long.
Same thing. You have to be able to have the locker room completely ride with you.

Look at Dennis Allen in New Orleans, Staley etc. No one is riding for those guys

Meh, Eberflus sticking no balls to go after Harbaugh, Vrabel, or Billy. Getsy gone. Hope they go big for Zac Robinson or Klint Kubiak.

Getsy is completely incompetent so getting rid of him was smart but I would have fired Eberflus. Speaking of Getsy he's more than likely headed to the Jets to add more incompetence to the worst offensive staff in the league.
