Baseball is officially back -- Let's start capping

back tightness cost deGrom a few extra innings of work in his final tune-up start last Tuesday; MRI came back clean and figures he probably slept on it wrong. something to keep in mind as I wouldn't expect him to surpass 85 pitches, but we shall see. potential late scratch to monitor if your book doesn't allow you to go the listed pitchers route

Think I’ll be square and go with a Gray/Bieber parlay tonight. Looking at A’s and a few others still as well.

I don’t understand this at all. So we can’t attend games (not gonna argue how redic I think that is) yet ballpark village is opened tonight, the rooftop bar and seats are sold out, and radio said if you were wanting to attend anywhere at the village you may need to make reservations as they expected to be full for every game!

Regardless what you think about all this Rona stuff isn’t it incredibly counterproductive and hypocritical for the village and rooftop seats to be open but not the gates at the park? I just don’t get all these half measures, either it’s business as usual or it’s not! Letting ppl gather across the street but not at the stadium can’t possibly be doing any good in efforts to curb the virus (which our numbers allegedly continue to grow everyday despite wearing mask!).,

Point is, it don’t matter where you stand on the subject, I don’t see how anyone can agree going about it half stepping is a reasonable answer! I’ll get Back to the games now, this just blew my mind when I heard it on the radio.

I think it’s easier to control a smaller space with the social distancing rules than trying to pack even a third of a ballpark, but I get the outrage. In Ontario, we are in different phases regionally, but there’s no stopping someone from travelling between regions even if the region you reside isn’t there yet. For example, in Toronto gyms aren’t open but another region called Markham is open and I can technically drive 10 minutes to Markham and use those open gyms.

I like Marlins/phils FF under and also very interested in Marlins FF.

This alcontera kid has great stuff, I wasn’t thrilled we gave him up in part the ozuna deal and think we will be looking at that trade and regretting it now that Ozuna gone (kinda glad he is) and this kid is just starting to come into his own imo. His problem has been his control but as the season went on last year I thought he showed signs of improvement, in sept he went 6+ in 5 of 6 starts and had much better walk ratio. Xfip doesn’t love him cause his strikeouts/9 are somewhat low for a guy with his stuff but he throws a 95mph heavy sinker that is tough to barrel up. I think he has the makings of a ace and I’m gonna assume getting the nod to start opening day means they like what they have seen out of him in camp.

Obviously Nola is no slouch either. He hasn’t gotten great run support when pitching against the marlins but obviously he has handled their lineup pretty well. No clue how long either starter goes or what either team really has in way of their pen so I’m happy counting on this to be low and tight thru 5 which obviously makes the nice number on fish appealing.

Yea it just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Ballpark village is incredibly tight spaces when packed which I assume it gonna be. Maybe they have more restrictive numbers than normal but if the rooftop seats and bar sold out I imagine that gonna be pretty close quarters. Again I don’t wanna clog the thread with this garbage I just couldn’t believe when I heard they were doing this. Seems to me rona can spread just as easily across the street as it would at the park. Lol

85 is a pretty small number for an ace

this is why we're leading the world in infections

Wow, I did not expect to be able to get this fish/phils Ff u4.5 at +112. I like that a lot!!

.25 sprinkle on fish Ff +160, suppose I coulda took the half run at plus money. Maybe that smarter but since this a smaller play I was trying to get more bang for my buck! If it pushes it pushes.

I don't trust Sonny but Bieber should mow the Royals. Look for some Lindor props he owns Duffy and I think he's gonna have a massive year.

Gotta think Ramirez gonna bounce back in a big way as well. If memory serves me right his second half was pretty solid after that mind boggling horrible 1st half!

Watch out for kc tho, they have the X factor of mike matheny in the dugout! That gotta be worth 3-4 games (the wrong direction! Lol).

I just really thought of this while seeing dodgers lineup being talked bout on the herd (can’t believe he talking baseball, you know we in crazy times! lol). Teams who can alternate left/right who have good platoon splits in middle the lineup are gonna have big advantage since lefty specialist are useless unless there 2 outs. Even Then what if your lefty doesn’t get the lefty batter out? Then he stuck facing another batter or more! I suppose if lineup goes l/r/l/r then they could just intentionally walk the righty but you really risking a big inning! Like I been saying, I’m not convinced this rule gonna speed game up! Could very well lead to some big crooked numbers!

Blue Jays are playing in Buffalo. Definitely going to use some contacts and get into a game.

Oh wow. Time to do some research! I have already heard something about the lighting not being ideal/up to big league standards? Surely there some angles to find here that give us a edge since the common man doesn’t dig Into this stuff the way we do!!!

Pen guys who been starters at some point gonna be a important commodity in the years to come!
The long relief guys are worth that much more now and like you said the starting pitchers who only have 2-3 quality innings and are still starters will get transitioned even more now in addition to the opener.

This almost feels like Major League the movie where the owner is purposely giving shitty accommodations to lose, except the Jays have no other option.

Yea that a bummer, I had heard the other teams were getting much more luxurious setups. Rough cause I thought jays were a team heading in right direction even if still a ways away from the yanks and rays of the East.

We’re close, they can sneak in with the expanded playoffs and get some experience but Pearson/Ryu if he stays healthy will be slick. Then we have Simeon woods coming up in 2-3 years

Oh ya’ll absolutely contenders for a playoff spot with this garbage participation trophy format!

Shortened season prob helps guys like Ryu and rich hill for twinks.

nobody's betting the Marlins so i don't think you should be surprised

close sounds like a stretch considering all the youth that hasn't produced yet, schedule is doing no favors either but at least you get the O's and Marlins for a high % of games

I'll be interested to look how its current ballpark suits Toronto's lineup. Obviously teams construct their rosters in order to thrive in the park where they play the most games (ie at home). So "home" games could put Toronto at a disadvantage.

No real difference, top is Roger's center, bottom is buffalos

Left Field Line – 328 ft (100 m) Left-Centre Power Alley – 375 ft (114 m) Centre Field – 400 ft (120 m) Right-Centre Power Alley – 375 ft (114 m) Right Field Line – 328 ft (100 m) Backstop – 60 ft (18 m)

Some more Ff unders I like: (feel like gonna be playin lot of these)

Zona/pads Ff u4.5

Laa/oak Ff u 5

Also like dbags and halos w the plus money. Debating Ff or full game since I think both favs have a adv in the pen. Zona pen might be solid but pads look to have a very strong pen. Not sure how to approach this one, I like both these teams to battle it out for second, both could steal a 3rd place wc (unreal I know) but they have what I’d think tougher schedules than some the other leagues assuming they facing al west teams along with each other (10x very quickly in season which will be huge games!) and doyers. Only real soft spots are Rockies, giants, and mariners! I am high on zona tho and while I like pads and paddock I think snakes will get off to a strong start and take at least 2 games in this opening 4 game set. Man it crazy how critical some these opening series and weeks will be!

No clue what halos working with on the back end as of yet? I do like Heaney but word is Montas is throwing smoke in camp, hitting triple digits on the regular! Hence the Ff under. Halos lineup looks really good even without Rendon, looks crazy tough when he gets back!! I think madden will bring a vibe to this team that helps them jump out to a good start. I’ve always been a fan of this A’s team but their mo has never been fast starters so im not sure this season Sets up well for them since it seems like I never notice this team until July august you look up and see them climbing the standings most years.

We have drafted well and spent money on an ace. Perfect development year and then you should see that next step, all things considered. At the least, I can be optimistic with the talent we’ve drafted.

agree with the ARI thoughts and lean that way, but it's probably not making my card

I'm not sure LAA has a really good lineup though? Rendon helps, but with his absence I think they're pretty poor as i don't rate them as very good even with him. LAA pen I like a bunch more, Robles was awesome as a closer last year with Buttrey potentially taking his job since he has legit stuff and then Bedrosian is solid too

When I get back home I’m gonna take a closer look, I didn’t look at it today just remember thinking back in real spring training I thought they were gonna score some runs. I will dive In soon as I have a minute!

Local sports radio had a poll and only 11% likes playoff format! Lol. Radio dummies acting like we dinosaurs for thinking this way. It has nothing to do with tradition or any that crap for me. These idiots are such shills for the leagues.

5dimes:

Starting July, 25, 2020: For the remainder of the 2020 MLB regular season, listed pitchers will not be available. All baseball wagers, regardless of the starting pitcher, will have action unless otherwise specified.

I'm gonna get my account canceled

I been hearing several books were doing something similar.

Heaney to be limited tonight according to Maddon (70-80 pitches)... threw on side six days ago due to back stiffness instead of simulated game

Looking forward to watching Montas touch 100 tonight; lotta hype over his stuff coming out of camp...

Yep. Hopefully Heaney can give me 5 solid before he leaves.

The stuff I was saying I heard and some hypothesized myself about musgrove might just be something to it. He looks better than I ever saw him look pitching against cards. I think he still throwing the sinker the last regime preached a little to much, that was the pitch Fowler hit out, a 92mph sinker right in his wheelhouse. Little concerning how effective he been with his off speed (other than the hanger to O’Neal), cards were one of the worst off speed hitting teams last year and we really don’t want that nightmare to continue

overlooked your initial post regarding LAA/OAK where you were saying same thing about Montas - I was going back and forth between 1st 5 under and Oak 1st 5 for about 30 mins... GL with that F5 under!
