Alright, season is moving on quickly already, sorry for the late start here but hopefully we get some good discussion going...
Wisconsin has an issue in the defensive backfield, I believe. I don't know if that is an easy fix or not but they gave up some big plays to FAU. There just wasn't much going on in the 2nd half of this game and it ended in 3 hours. Basic Badger effort on offense and they got the job done. Never pretty but effective.
I missed the Purdue and Ohio game. I saw the score and that is it.
I watched most of PSU and Pitt... it was a good old style hard hitting game. PSU won but really never sustained a lot of drives although they had a few better ones in the 2nd half. Their defense is very good but they did give up more on the ground than I expected. The TE is obviously such a great weapon and I would use him even more in creative situations. McSorley is a good enough QB who is a gamer but I do not put him in an elite category. Their offense is just kinda hit and miss. It can look real pretty and can look kinda ugly too. A lot of that Saturday was just a tough out that is Pittsburgh. My own fault for falling into that trap. The schedule still sets up pretty easy for them. If they win at OSU, then they have a shot at the playoffs perhaps. We'll see, 10 win team I would say when all is said and done. Maybe 11.
I did not see one iota of Sparty and WMU. It looks like Sparty made some big plays on offense to get some scores. They are playing solid enough so far. LJ doesn't look great though. The young wide outs have a ways to go it seems. But, they are winning. Once they face a team capable of passing the ball we shall really get a better grasp of them. I still have them at 5-7 wins but would inch closer to 7 now if they stay relatively healthy. This is their bye week already though...then the road gets tough for a bit...
After OU left points out there in the first half I thought they would lose in the 2h. I especially thought that after the first drive. Mayfield and company responded though. OSU has an issue with JT. He has been a damn good player and program guy is seems for many years now. He simply is at his peak and actually past it unfortunately. They can still win many games this year with him but the obvious goal is to win a MNC and that isn't attainable with him, imo. I know many down there are frustrated with it. The offense just doesn't click like you would think it should. I have no clue how that star-studded, albeit young, secondary is getting abused. Again, from afar you here complaining about certain coaches and scheme. Mikey Weber looked to tone his body a bit though. I guess that is a positive. And lastly, if you are gonna lose a game, now is the time of year to do it.
N'Western just got slobber-knocked by Duke. It looks like they could not do a thing offensively at all and gave up a lot defensively. I literally am clueless with them. I expected a good game there, not one that was such a mismatch.
Iowa and ISU put up 85 on Saturday. In a day of relatively low-scoring I think that sums things up.
Timmy, how was Maryland at the QB position? Obviously it was an exhibition game of sorts otherwise.
Great win by Indiana. They needed to not start 0-2 and have a real nice team. They are going to spoil someones season this year at some point. Look at the UVA QB stats... 39-66 for 259... like wtf...
Letdown position for Rutgers and they are still hot garbage. Not as smelly as last year but week one against U-Dub was somewhat of an aberration. Good win for EMU.
Illinois was catching 7 and won easily. I saw someone here post the stat about how many freshman/young guys they started. Looks like they played good defense and only allowed 6 rushing yards...
Minny rolled Oregon State via a nice running game and dominated T.O.P...this is simply a team I am watching for now and not partaking in their games from a betting angle as of yet...
Nebraska TT was my big play and I liked catching all those points too. It was a weird 2nd half to say the least. I feel the correct play got the cash as did the total and spread to be honest(great work by you early Oregon guys getting awesome numbers -- helluva middle game too). I would need to re-watch it though a bit in 2h to see what Oregon was up too. They have exceeded expectations for myself so far.
This week...
I am up to speed on cancellations...has USF and Illinois been axed yet?
Penn State with an exhibition type game. I cannot see them giving up more than 7 so figure out their score and bet accordingly...
Indiana back home for FIU. This is a good game for them to work on some things. Really no angle at this point to look at.
Nebraska returns home to N. Illinois. Again, I'll research into something with a total here.
Wisconsin at BYU, lol. I predicted 42 for the total and we see a 41 posted. You have to think BYU has been through the ringer here the first few weeks and it is not like they can take advantage of the Wisky defensive secondary. I can already tell this game is going to become a problem for me when I start looking some more. I am gonna hate myself any which way.
Iowa should be pretty flat against the Mean Green. I have zero interest in this game of the 'CyHawk' or whatever they call it game...maybe Tee will chime in...
I need to look into that Duke NW game some more. I know BGSU and that should give me a better read here.
OSU should be flat here as well. This is another game I don't care to touch whatsoever unless it is tight at halftime.
Alright, that is it so far but I wanted to get some conversation flowing. I am digging in much more the next 36 hours and will add to the thread throughout the week hopefully with some awful advice .
Discuss away!
