Well, that was interesting last week... nice butt kicking personally but that happens...

A blah event this week before a WGC and The PGA...

Lets see if we can find something this week.

Wolff defends...

He beat Bryson and Collin by one stroke last year

I'd expect similar scoring as last year.

Who is playing for the 7th straight week?

Straka...Wolff...Norlander...Rodgers...Bubba...

I believe there are a few more.

DJ, Fleetwood, Finau and Brooks are the headliners...

Each brings an interesting storyline into the week....

Anyways...The thread has been tremendous every week. Lets keep it going!

Brooks untouchable going forward with the MRI and comments about the knee.

Fleetwood hasn't played in months but allegedly shot 64 at Shinnecock over the weekend.

Feels like a great week to take a longshot.

Took a bunch of shit that was mostly low risk, high reward except English, who I think finishes top 5 minimum.

Strategy is all young bucks on this list (except English) who can get in contention on Sunday.

Having said that, Brooks probably wins after most people writing him off, including me, for right now.

3M Open - Harris English +2,200

3M Open - Doc Redman +3,500

.
3M Open - Sam Burns +3,500

3M Open - Will Gordon +6,600

3M Open - Kristoffer Ventura +8,000

3M Open - Sahith Theegala +12,500

3M Open - Doug Ghim +40,000

3M Open - Peter Kuest +60,000

Definitely feels like a long shot week.

Didn't Norlander putt pretty well last week too? He might be worth a stab at 45-1 or whatever I saw him at earlier this morning

My worry this week...even with an easy course ..some of these guys beat up after that test last week.

Thoughts?

Redman, Burns, and Gordon on my list also, mr. Hunt.
i don’t know your last three.

of the very few prominent names teeing it up, I like Fleetwood best.

i look for this forum to help me fill out my team of 12 with some of the lesser known and unknowns this week.

I think Tony might be a good fade this week.

What's our thoughts on DJ in that matchup? Plus money ...

I just read this article (posted in another thread here) about Trainer’s stand-in caddy from the Valspar, who is a writer for Golf. His name keeps popping up everywhere I guess, lol.

Yeah I posted that in GD golf thread. Neat read.

College guys or amateurs who got exemptions.

Some of these guys have had incredible college careers...i figured why not?

Ghim was the 1 ranked amateur in world in 2018. Went to Texas.

Theegala is somewhat of a prodigy from Pepperdine.

Kuest went to byu and was all american there.

This is the tourney where morikawa and Wolff battled it out last year

It's supposed to play similar to memorial. Who knows?

I got absolutely butt plugged last week. And I totally sucked at making my golf picks. Going light this week. I agree with others who say there could definitely be a long shot winner. Wolf was 100-1 last year btw. The top tier guys all have tons of question marks and staying completely away. Harris English rates out really well and I’m going 2 units on him. The rest are like .5 units except for Bernd who I’m going 1 unit on. Here’s the card so far:

English 29-1
Wiesberger 90-1
Van Rooyen 40-1
Norlander 55-1
Frittelli 80-1
Mitchell 125-1

If Brooks wins I’ll be absolutely pissed. Was on him back to back weeks.. watched basically every shot.. and he was terrible.

Added Paul Casey 22-1.

Saw him 16-1 on BM which is where I got the good long-shot odds. Pulled the trigger when I saw this number on BOL. He had an 8 on one of the par 3s at Memorial and missed the cut on the number. His numbers were good otherwise. This is a ball strikers course where a bunch of the top 5 last year were actually UNDER in SG: PUTTING ... including Wolff who won. We know Casey can’t putt. If it’s mitigated, I like him in a weak field (where he wins usually when he does) where the top of the board has huge question marks.

Licking my wounds big time after The Memorial.

Most of my leans are pretty popular so I'll be treading lightly. Casey and English are probably my favorites. Staying away from Brooks and Fleetwood.

With a lot of you in that The Memorial was a killer for me, so treading lightly this week before the big tournaments the next two weeks.

DJ -129 over Brooks (really just a Brooks fade)
EVR -120 over Fritelli
Stallings 105 over Merritt
Straka -137 over Lewis

I like Stallings and EVR quite a bit this week and have Lewis rated extremely low.

Maybe a first round 3-ball or two when they get posted.

Redman Top 10 +450 1-4.5
Gordon Top 10 +650 1-6.5
Ventura Top 10 +800 1-8
Hadley Top 10 +1100 1-11

Redman to Win +5000 .25-12.5
Gordon to Win +7000 .25-17.5
Ventura to Win +7500 .25-18.75
Hadley to Win +11000 .25-27.5

If any of the top 10's hit I practically break even or better.

I'll keep watch on Casey/English/Glover - and hoping no dj/finau winners but that they do well enough. Only other maybe regret is bubba. Ignored wolff - koepka/fleetwood.

Not my usual mojo to bet head to head with an offshore.
But I have taken Uihlein @+190 v Harman. Will need a little bit of luck.

This course is a comedown from the Muirfield of last week. And the Muirfield of previous week. I recall that some years ago there was major, I think a U and Open, that was played in Minnesota. It was referred to as a cow pasture by one of the players. Is this that course?
anybody know. ? ( I have sound turned off when I watch )

I think my question got answered after my previous post when tv flash backed to Rich Beem’s win at Hazeltine.
i forget what golfer called it a cow pasture. If I were a betting man (Ha) I would say it was Dave Hill.
But you don’t remember Dave Hill, do you ?

Round 2:

Tony Finau -125 over Tommy Fleetwood (tie no Bet)
Ryan Moore -152 over Scott Piercy (Tie no bet)

Finau and Moore both shot it lights out all around and I expect them to keep it up tomorrow. Fleetwood was meh across the board and Piercy was pretty awful losing several strokes on approach and T2G all day.

Reluctantly playing Brooks -175 over Chuckie 3 sticks too.....hopefully we get the Brooks that gives a damn

I had to Google.

13 time your winner from Jackson, MI.
