we struck out 9 times went 1-4 with RISP and left 3 on base

Howard takes to the hill tomorrow afternoon then we fly home to face the Astros & Braves next week
7 games in 7 days, looks like a 2-5 week I hope

while it’s nice to win three in a row, I realize the A’s aren’t a good team and we have been just a bit better

and our win streak hits the bricks, final score was 2-0 we are now 5-10
our offense was offensive as we mustered just 4 hits
Richards threw 2.0 innings and didn’t allow any runs

this afternoon we must face Verlander as Perez gets the ball for us

Braves arrive tomorrow for a weekend series

today’s loss was a very tough one, Perez had a perfect game heading into the 7th inning
final score was 3-2, we lost 3 of 4 to the Astros our record is now 6-13

Perez 7.0 innings threw 76 pitches, he gave up 2 hits 1 run which was earned walked none and struck out 4
Bush (L 0-1) 1.0 gave up one hit a 2 run HR to Tucker
King pitched one inning and caused no damage

Semien is just lost and clueless, not sure why Woody plays him everyday
he went 0-4 in this series he was 1-16 .062 he’s batting .158
there’s no way he should be in tomorrow nights lineup

Seagar hit his 2nd HR of the season a solo shot 2/4 .257

we struck out 9 times went 1-2 with RISP and left 4 on base

in our starting lineup today we had 5 batters batting under .200

I predicted a 2-5 week and so far we are 1-3
will be tough getting more than one from the Braves

not sure what will happen with this team, we clearly have no heart and we are on pace to be worse than last year

Semien 1/3 .165 and he commited his 3rd error
K Calhoun 0/3 .173
Garver 0/3 .177
W Calhoun 0/4 down to .136 Willie is a great guy but it’s time to send him down or DFA him it’s just now clicking

we struck out 7 times went 0-5 with RISP and left 5 on base

to “highlight” this game Garcia misread a fly ball to center and it allowed Demeritte to get a inside the park HR

this team has no passion or heart, looking back we shouldn’t have signed anyone
and stunk it up
instead we signed a bunch of gutless overpaid bums and we still stink
for sure we will lose 100 games again this year
we need pitchers and are now stuck with bloated contracts

Dunning gets the ball tonight

always enjoy reading your recaps, makes me feel like i know this team pretty well, wish more fans of teams would do this, appreciate it, i know it must be a tad painful with this team!! i never really understood the Semien contract but dont you think long haul Seager was prob a step in the right direction? the one thing ill say for the lineup is at least they dont strike out a ton like they did during the Gallo years! that something i guess, nothing i hate worse than watching a team not only suck but flailing at bad pitches and striking out a bunch!!

thanks for the compliment, much appreciated
it’s VERY painful to do these daily, but I’ll slog along
Seager will be very good
Semien is a total bust and will never be a good contract
true we aren’t striking out as much but we have 4 batters currently batting under .200

It’s not just a rangers problem, I thought cardinals lineup was good enough to be a top 5-6 offense this year and they got 4-5 guys right around the Mendoza line also! I’m sure there others, the lineup A’s trotted out today was full of Mfers below .200! Ino the short spring wasn’t just a problem for the pitchers, the hitters suffered also:. Just this past week or so I started expecting to get normal regular season starts from starting pitchers, hopefully the bats start coming around also!

our losing streak stopped tonight as we won 3-1 making our record 7-14

Dunning threw 7.2 innings he threw 98 pitches gave up 3 hits 1 run which was earned walked none and struck out 7
Barlow got the save his first of the season

our 1-5 batters absolutely stunk it up as they went a combined 1-17
the only hit was a Seagar solo HR his 4th of the season
Huff and Reks each went 1-3 and they both drove in one run

Semien went 0/4 and is not at .157 and is 2 for his last 23 (.086)
Woody showing how bad he is by putting him in the daily lineup, he needs 2/3 days off to regroup

we struck out 6 times and went 2-4 with RISP and left 3 on base

tomorrow afternoon Hearn gets the ball then we head to Philadelphia for a series that begins on tuesday

Man. I wanted to fade Braves pitcher but didn’t like idea of playing rangers to win at the short price so I tried to be creative and lost the team total over 3.5, I did cash the reverse Ff rl for little plus money. Basically got nothing out of it opposed to playing them and getting a W! Lol. I thought I was in there on the team total seeing how they had 3 runs thru 4 innings! Didn’t realize atl had a strong piggy back waiting to go, that a pretty good sign that young pitcher who control been awful is kinda hanging on to his rotation spot by a thread!! Another game with more walks than k’s, he really not ready to be pitching in the bigs, he should be at triple a till he can figure out his command.

Excellent start by dunning, has he looked as good as the numbers say he been?

we won our second in a row & won the series
final score was 7-3 our record is now 8-14

Hearn threw 5.0 innings (W 1-2) he gave up 4 hits 2 runs both of them earned walked 3 struck out 6

K Calhoun 0/3 .155

for the week we went 3-4

off today as we head to Philadelphia for 3 and then off to Yankee stadium for a weekend series

we’ve cut our roster to 26 and while it was necessary it’s hard to see Willie Calhoun down to AAA
he’s a hard worker but just hasn’t been himself, hopefully he gets it back

Huff and Allard back to AAA as well

If we win again today, I'll be obligated to shove my whole stack in on the Yankees on Friday no matter the price.

Otto vs Cole tomorrow night

Mother nature doesn't want me to fade the Rangers.

Shoved the stack in on Thursday night when the Yanks were -203 for Friday, put all the units in again this morning when they opened -240.

Will I have the temerity to try again Sunday?

With exception of rays who are built to do it I generally don’t like teams who throw one these open games, I feel like it almost always a given they gonna bring in at least 1 reliever who doesn’t have it that day/gets knocked around. I mean what are the odds really when you use 6+ pitchers that they all gonna be good? Probably not high. Then again, kc did the same thing and didn’t have any problems. Lol

I hate the “opener”
todays pitchers are pussies
“I’m tired” says a guy that throws 75 pitches every 5 days GTFOOH

Much like the shift Rays are greatly responsible! Not sure why these teams who have money are trying to emulate a team who has to try different things in a attempt to level the field? They build their pen in a manner to have success doing it, most these teams don’t have any plan they just see it work for rays and think “why can’t it work for us?” , lol.

a well pitched game led us to a 3-1 victory our record now stands at 13-17

Perez tries to salvage one game from this series for us tomorrow
Angels head to town on Monday

Man. Im gonna have to watch a couple Nestor Cortes starts,, I keep thinking surely someone gonna hit a starter who basically a 2 pitch pitcher w 4 Seamer and cutter, neither of which overpowering, you would think he profiles much more like a reliever yet he mowing down everyone, even teams who don’t typically get mowed down by lefties! It’s only been 18 batters this year but he not even struggling the 3rd time seeing guys,,still super early to say for sure on that but drastic change from last year. Anyone been watching him?
