we broke our 5 game losing streak with an 8-6 come from behind win, our record now stands at 3-9
we were down 5-0 after the first and we chipped away slowly for the W


Hearn was awful he threw 78 pitches in his 3.0 innings of “work” gave up 4 hits 5 runs all of them earned, walked 4 struck out 4 and gave up 2 HR’s
we also used Abreu,Martin,Patton & Bush

Barlow threw 1.1 innings and got the W


Solak went 1/3 he hit his 2nd HR a 2 run shot

Jon Gray back on the DL (I don’t agree with the IL) with a left knee sprain

always enjoy reading your recaps, makes me feel like i know this team pretty well, wish more fans of teams would do this, appreciate it, i know it must be a tad painful with this team!! i never really understood the Semien contract but dont you think long haul Seager was prob a step in the right direction? the one thing ill say for the lineup is at least they dont strike out a ton like they did during the Gallo years! that something i guess, nothing i hate worse than watching a team not only suck but flailing at bad pitches and striking out a bunch!!

Semien is a total bust and will never be a good contract
true we aren’t striking out as much but we have 4 batters currently batting under .200

It’s not just a rangers problem, I thought cardinals lineup was good enough to be a top 5-6 offense this year and they got 4-5 guys right around the Mendoza line also! I’m sure there others, the lineup A’s trotted out today was full of Mfers below .200! Ino the short spring wasn’t just a problem for the pitchers, the hitters suffered also:. Just this past week or so I started expecting to get normal regular season starts from starting pitchers, hopefully the bats start coming around also!

Woody showing how bad he is by putting him in the daily lineup, he needs 2/3 days off to regroup

Man. I wanted to fade Braves pitcher but didn’t like idea of playing rangers to win at the short price so I tried to be creative and lost the team total over 3.5, I did cash the reverse Ff rl for little plus money. Basically got nothing out of it opposed to playing them and getting a W! Lol. I thought I was in there on the team total seeing how they had 3 runs thru 4 innings! Didn’t realize atl had a strong piggy back waiting to go, that a pretty good sign that young pitcher who control been awful is kinda hanging on to his rotation spot by a thread!! Another game with more walks than k’s, he really not ready to be pitching in the bigs, he should be at triple a till he can figure out his command.

Excellent start by dunning, has he looked as good as the numbers say he been?

With exception of rays who are built to do it I generally don’t like teams who throw one these open games, I feel like it almost always a given they gonna bring in at least 1 reliever who doesn’t have it that day/gets knocked around. I mean what are the odds really when you use 6+ pitchers that they all gonna be good? Probably not high. Then again, kc did the same thing and didn’t have any problems. Lol

Much like the shift Rays are greatly responsible! Not sure why these teams who have money are trying to emulate a team who has to try different things in a attempt to level the field? They build their pen in a manner to have success doing it, most these teams don’t have any plan they just see it work for rays and think “why can’t it work for us?” , lol.

Im gonna have to watch a couple Nestor Cortes starts,, I keep thinking surely someone gonna hit a starter who basically a 2 pitch pitcher w 4 Seamer and cutter, neither of which overpowering, you would think he profiles much more like a reliever yet he mowing down everyone, even teams who don’t typically get mowed down by lefties! It’s only been 18 batters this year but he not even struggling the 3rd time seeing guys,,still super early to say for sure on that but drastic change from last year. Anyone been watching him?

Hearn gets the ball tonight
 
a 7 run 8th inning topped our comeback victory, final score was 10-5 bringing our record to 16-19

Hearn was subpar in his 4.9 innings
gave up 5 hits 3 runs all earned 2HR’s walked 2 struck out 2
Martin & Sborz each gave up 1 run in their inning
Moore and Santana pitched well and Santana got the W
our staff struck out 13 halo’s overall

Seagar 2-4 as he hit his 8th HR a solo shot
White 1-4 drove in 1
K Calhoun 2-3 and he hit his 4th HR a two run shot
Huff went 3-4 driving in 2
Lowe 1-2 drove in 1
Semien 0-4 .157

we struck out 10 times went 5-10 with RISP and left 5 on base

Dunning takes the hill tonight as we go for the sweep
 
we scored 2 in the bottom of the 10th thanks to a Nate Lowe 2 run HR to sweep the halos and extend our winning streak to 4
final score was 6-5 we are now at 17-19 for the season

Dunning threw 6.0 innings gave up 3 hits 2 of those hits were HR’s both solo shots
he walked 3 and struck out 6
Burke & King both pitched well
Bush imploded and blew the save by giving up 2 runs in the top of the 9th
Santana (W 2-1) got the W



Lowe 1-5 hit his 2nd HR drove in 2
Heim 3-5 drove in 2
K Calhoun 2-3 drove in 1 he hit his 5th HR a solo shot
Miller went 2-5 drove in 1 with his solo shot his 6th of the season
Seager 1-3
Semien went 3-5 now up to .173


we struck out 12 times and went 3-12 with RISP and left 11 on base
we struck out 31 times in this three game series not good at all
but we’ve put together a nice little win streak
a short flight to Houston for a four game series vs the ‘Stros
Astros are 7-3 over their last 10
Otto gets the ball tonight
 
Otto pitched great but we never could get that key hit and we lost 5-1 dropping our record to 17-20

Otto threw 96 pitches 57 of them for strikes and took the loss 1-2 on the season with a 5.55 ERA he gave up 7 hits 2 runs both earned walked 3 struck out 2

Sborz was a puke 1.1 innings gave up 1 hit 3 runs all earned walked 3 and struck out 2 he now has a 10.80 ERA


Seagar 1-4 and he drove in our lone rbi
Garcia,Heim,Ibanez and K Calhoun all collected one hit apiece
Semien 1-4 batting .175
Garver 0-3 batting .198

we struck out 13 times and went 1-8 with RISP and left 7 on base
our lack of discipline at the plate has become a big problem yet again
we’ve struck out 44 times over our last 4 games


Perez gets the ball tonight
 
a complete game masterpiece by Perez as we shut out the Astros 3-0 our record is now 18-20

Perez threw 108 pitches 73 of them for strikes and he gave up 7 hits no runs walked 1 struck out 5

Semien 1-3 drove in 1 .178
K Calhoun hit his 6th HR a solo shot
Seagar,Heim and Lowe all got one hit each
we only mustered 5 hits the entire game

Lowe committed his 4th error of the season


we struck out 11 more times and went 1-5 with RISP and left 4 on base

Gray takes to the hill tomorrow vs Verlander


last ranger to throw a complete game was Kyle Gibson on Sept. 16, 2020 also against the Astros at Minute Maid Park
