Looking like the Oilers are going to wait and sign Zach as a free agent on Wednesday which means a maximum 7 year term. Toronto placed a higher value on the cap savings Edmonton would gain with the 8th year in a sign and trade, than the Oil are willing to pay in a draft pick.

The Golden Knights are signing the 33-year-old defenceman to a three-year deal worth roughly $15 million.

Important re-signing here from Vegas, which will now require some cap-clearing at some point. It was a huge priority for the Golden Knights to keep Alec Martinez. The pend UFA D had been pondering Vegas' offer since last week.

The New Jersey Devils have traded forward Nick Merkley to the San Jose Sharks for defenceman Christian Jaros.

Reinhart for a first and Devon Levi
 
Garland has signed a five-year deal with the team worth $24.75 million (a $4.95 million average annual value).
 

The Jets have signed forward Paul Stastny to a one-year, $3,750,000 contract, they also picked up defenceman Brenden Dillon from Capitals for 2022 & 2023 2nd-round picks.​

Yeah its really taking a chance signing a premier offensive defenseman cheap because he's a vocal Trump supporter. Great signing for the Leafs or whoever ends up with him.

If they had the money for fourth line Goodrow they certainly had the money for Buchnevich who was their second best forward. Drury is completely out of his element and that trade shows it.

As for Kappo and Lafreniere they will probably both be traded once the team signs Blake Coleman to a 6 yr deal for 7 million a year.

The Montreal Canadiens have locked up Joel Armia, signing the Finnish forward to a four-year extension.

The Habs say the deal, announced Tuesday, has an average annual value of US$3.4 million.
 
Pending the trade call the Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks are completing a trade that sends Nate Schmidt to the Jets. Schmidt has to waive his NTC to facilitate.

Once complete, the Jets send a 3rd round pick in 2022 to Vancouver for Schmidt.

Seabrook is 6.8 ltir..and they got rid of Tyler Johnson.. so that’s 11 million open?

Amazing what good management can do and Tampa is a perfect example. Somehow they keep all their good players while jerkoffs like Drury give away top talent and flood the cap with 4th liners at big money.
 
All signs point to Freddy Andersen signing with the Carolina Hurricanes when the market opens.

Tampa fleeced you guys. But I think that was a different GM a couple years back.
 
Tampa was run well with Stevie Y who is one of the rare hall of fame players that has become just as good as a GM and Brisebois who took over when Yzerman went to Detroit is also excellent. The Rangers on the other hand replaced a dunce with a guy that had to have taken 100 pucks to the head.
