Martin gives up a walk off single to Pinder & we lose 6-5, dropping our record to 12-11
We got swept, losing streak at 3
Dowdy threw 3 innings giving up 4 hits 3 runs all earned walked 3 struck out 2 he gave up a 3 run HR to Semien
Mazara went 2/4 both his hits were solo HR’s he’s got 4 on the season
Forsythe went 2/3 he hit a solo shot his 2nd of the year
We struck out 11 times for a total of 33 times in our three game series, Gallo & Wisdom both K’d 3 times
Now we limp into Seattle for a 4 game series
 
It was over in the bottom of the first, as the Mariners score 5 they go on to win 14-2 our record now stands at 12-12
Our losing streak is now at 4
Hearn lasted 0.1 this isn’t a typo yes got only one out he allowed 3 hits 5 runs 4 of them earned walked 4 and now has a 108.00 ERA (also not a typo)
Mazara & Forsythe drove in one run apiece
We struck out 12 more times, led by Gallo who struck out 3 times & went 0/3 with one BB
Santana, Forsythe & DeShields all struck out twice
Gallo on a 0-7 slump over last two games
Cabrera 0-5 last 2 games

Just a few days ago we were 12-8, now if we lose tonight will be under .500
 
A ground ball to Forsythe got stuck in his glove & we lose 5-4 in 11 innings our record stands at 12-13
Our losing streak is up to 5
Miller pitched 5 innings giving up 3 hits 4 runs all earned walked 5 struck out 4 & gave up a 3 run HR to Encarnacion in the bottom of the first
Mazara went 3/5 he hit his 5th of the season a 2 run shot he knocked in 3 for the game
Choo hit a PH HR his 2nd of the season to send the game to extras
We struck out 11 more times 56 times over our last 5 games
Gallo went 0/3 he’s now 0 for his last 10 AB’s batting .263

We had 20 hits, scored 15 runs & still actually won the game 15-1 our record now stands at 13-13 the losing streak has been halted
Minor pitched a gem going 7 innings allowing 3 hits 1 run which was earned struck out 13 walked 1 only run he allowed was a solo HR
Andrus,Odor & Gallo all hits HR’s
Forsythe knocked in 3 as he went 4/6
Odor & Andrus each knocked in 3 by hitting 3 run HRs
Pence knocked in 3 as well
Mazara,Gallo & Santana knocked in 1 apiece
We struck out 7 times
Went 10-22 with RISP & 13 LOB

Glad for the outburst, we try to split the series this afternoon with Lynn on the mound
 
Sun 4/28:
our bats were blazing again as we won 14-1 records stands at 14-13
we hits 4-HR’s & Lynn pitched 7 excellent innings

Monday 4/29:
had the day off

Tuesday 4/30:
lost to the Pirates 6-4 in 11 innings dropping our record to 14-14
we were up 3-0 heading to the top of the 9th & Leclerc got lit up
as a team 13 more strikeouts
Gallo hit his 10th

Weds 5/1:
lost 7-5 to the Pirates record now stands at 14-15
Gallo & Santana hit solo HRs, Choo-Choo hit a 2 run blast
Miller only lasted 3.1 innings

Thursday 5/2:
yet another day off

Friday 5/3:
lost a really tough one 1-0 in 12 innings we are now 14-16
Minor pitched yet another game, 8 innings 0 runs none earned 7 hits walked 2 & struck out 9
struck out 12 more times
0-7 RISP & 7 LOB

Saturday 5/4:
We won 8-5 bringing our record to 15-16
Mazara hit a HR his 6th of the season
went 3-7 RISP & 6 were LOB


back at it with the Blue Jays today, hopefully getting us back to .500
 
Our bats broke out as we cruised to a 10-2 win record now stands at 16-16
We are 4-6 in our last 10 winners of two in a row, in third place 3 games out
Smyly lasted only 4 innings allowing 2 hits 1 run it was earned 2 walks 5 strikeouts & gave up 1 solo HR
Cabrera went 2/4 driving in 4 he hit his 7th HR it was a 3 run shot
Odor knocked in 3 he hit his 2nd HR it was a 2 run blast
Andrus knocked in 2 & Choo 1
Went 5/12 with RISP & left 3 on base

Yet another day off on Monday as we fly to Pittsburgh to face the Pirates for two then off to Houston for a 4 game series
 
We are 16-16 heading into tonight’s game, this two game set is usually a “trap” because team is looking ahead to the ‘Stros series
Sampson 0-1 3.58 vs Brault 0-1 8.38

over 8.5 looks very easy tonight
 
We fell behind early, tried to rally late but came up short losing 5-4 record is now 16-17
Were 1-9 RISP & left 8 on base
Sampson 0-2 4.41 was ineffective going 5 innings allowing 7 hits allowing 5 runs all earned walking 2 striking out 2 and he gave up a 2 run blast
Pence was our entire offense going 3/3 knocking in all 4 runs 2 of them cam on his 4th dinger of the year
We struck out 12 more times as a team, led by Gallo who K’d three times

Trailing 6-2 heading to the 8th we exploded for 4 in the 8th to tie it up & then added 3 more in the 9th to win 9-6 our record stands at 17-17

Pence hit a PH grand slam in the 8th, he’s knocked in 8 runs over our last 2 games
Odor hit a 2 run shot in the ninth
Gallo hit his 12th a 2 run blast, Joey became the first player in MLB history to hit 100 HR’s before he hit 100 singles
We were 3-8 with RISP and left 7 on base

Off to Houston for a 4 game series, I’m hoping to get a split
Minor on the hill tonight, I think we are very live dogs
 
Reddick robbed Pence of a three run HR & we went on to lose a tough one 4-2 our record is now 17-18
Minor (3-3) was just ok pitching 5 innings giving up 7 hits 3 runs all earned walked 3 struck out 5 and gave up a solo HR
Pence was our entire offense yet again he hit a 2 run blast his 6th of the season & as I said without Reddick would have had 2 HRs & 5 RBIs
We only mustered 3 hits struck out 10 times went 1-5 with RISP & left 3 on base
Gallo 0/4 striking out 3 times

On paper tonight’s game looks like a total mismatch Lynn vs Verlander
 
Our offense has vanished, only mustered 2 hits & got shut out 3-0 record is now 17-19
Verlander threw 7 innings allowing only 1 hit, Lynn pitched well he threw 7 innings scattering 6 hits 3 runs all earned walked 1 struck out 8 but was hampered by the long ball he gave up 3 solo HR’s
First two games of this series we have only 5 hits
Our 1-6 batters went 1-19 & we struck out 10 more times
Gallo went 0/3 BA down to .257

I don’t expect good results today Cole throws for the ‘Stros & we counter with Chavez
 
A total thumping losing 11-4 we are now 17-20 losers of three in a row
Smyly got roughed up lasting only 4.1 innings gave up 4 hits 5 runs 4 of those earned walked 4 struck out 3 and gave up a solo HR
Chavez was our “opener” throwing a perfect first inning
Dowdy got lit up pitching 1 inning giving up 6 hits 4 runs all earned one of those hit was a grand slam
Guzman made his only hit count a 3 run HR his 3rd of the season
Pence hit a solo shot his 7th of the season
We struck out an amazingly 18 times led by my pal Joey he took the golden sombrero going 0/4 striking out all 4 AB’s he’s 0-11 in this series with 8 strikeouts

Today I consider our game a must win we are off tomorrow as we head to Kansas City to face the Royals on Tuesday
 
Yet another embarrassment we lost 15-5 record is now 17-21 losers of 4 in a row
This series we were outscored 33-11
We struck out 14 more times 52 times over the series
Andrus knocked in 2 with hitting his 6th HR of the season
Mazara,Pence & Kiner-Falefa each knocked in one

Sampson was awful yet again & needs to be sent down, he pitched 3.1 allowing 9 hits 6 runs 5 of them earned 1 walk 2 strikeouts & he gave up 2 HRs
Martin pitched 0.2 gave up 4 hits 5 runs all earned
Jurado pitched 1.2 gave up 4 hits 4 runs none of them earned one of the hits he gave up was a HR

I was afraid of this series & it was worse than I expected, things need to change & change now. No discipline at the plate playing sloppy defense & our 3-5 starters have been overall putrid.
 
In a complete free fall now, as we give up 11 runs to the lowly Royals

Miller was putrid only lasting 1.2 innings he gave up 7 hits 8 runs all earned walked 2 struck out 1 & surprisingly no HR’s
Gallo & Forsythe each knocked in 2
Elvis knocked in our other run
We struck out 12 more times Choo,Pence,Cabrera & Mazara each struck out twice
3-13 with RISP & left 7 on base

Not much to say, this team has no heart & no discipline at the plate
Minor goes to the mound today to possibly put a band aid on this deep wound
 
kinda surprised Shelby is still starting, but Minor is the bright spot until he gets traded in about a month?

GWarner27 Shelby & Sampson both need to go away, sadly our ownership won’t spend a penny... gonna be really hard selling tickets to the new park next season
Minor has been a beast back to his Braves form & most likely will be traded
Our #1 draft pick from 2016 Cole Ragans getting ready for his 2nd TJ surgery, we have no big future arms coming up
 
revenue sharing kinda makes ticket sales and the concessions that come with it less important.

I really don't know what happened, but ever since Daniels decided not to trade for pitching and instead went for hitting when they had homefield throughout the playoffs this franchise has been a disaster and i don't understand why

We won 5-1 ending our 5 game losing streak the record stands at 18-22
Minor battled through 5 innings throwing 90 pitches giving up 8 hits giving up 1 run which was earned walked 2 struck out 3
Choo & Guzman each hit solo HR’s
Calhoun hit his first HR of the season a 2 run shot
We struck out 10 more times my “pal” Joey struck out 3 more times as he went 0/4 his BA down to .248
Gallo’s last 7 games he’s got 25 AB’s collecting only 4 hits 1 HR 4 RBI’s & 16 strikeouts for the season he’s got 57 strikeouts in 127 AB’s

Forgot to mention Elvis has left the building, which means Andrus has a hamstring injury he’s been put on the 10 day IL I hope he’s back sooner than later

Have an afternoon game with Lynn on the mound, then head home to face the Cardinals

Lynn was good today throwing 7 innings allowing 6 hits 1 run which was earned walked 1 struck out 5
Odor went 3/5 2 of his hits were HR’s his 4th & 5th of the season he knocked in 4
Calhoun & Forsythe each knocked in 3
Pence knocked in 2
Calhoun since joining the lineup has been on fire 6/12 2 HR’s 5 RBI’s
My pal Joey went 4/5
We only struck out 6 times
Went 6-18 with RISP & left 13 on base

Home tomorrow night to face the Cardinals

We headed to the 8th cruising along up 10-2 we hung on to win 10-9 as our pen gave up 4 in the 8th & 3 in the 9th our record is now 22-23
Minor was brilliant throwing 6 innings allowing 6 hits 2 runs both earned walked 1 struck out 11 his ERA stands at 2.64
Shelby Miller got rocked throwing 1.1 innings 3 hits 4 runs all earned walked 1 big hit he gave up was a grand slam to Beckham
Chris Martin was awful as well pitched 1 inning gave up 3 hits 3 runs all earned Vogelbach hit a 2 run blast off him
Odor went 1/3 his only hit was a 3 run shot his 7th of the season
Cabrera hit 2 solo HR’s his 8th & 9th of the season
Pence also hit his 9th of the season a 2 run blast
Gallo hit a solo shot his 14th of the year
Choo-Choo & Santana each mustered 2 hits and drove in 1 apiece
We went 5-14 with RISP & left 5 on base as a team struck out 7 times

Maybe we get back to .500 tonight with Lynn on the hill

An afternoon game today with Chavez on the hill we then fly off to Los Angeles to face the Angels
While I’m extremely happy to be 23-23 I still feel the bottom will drop out at any moment let’s hope I’m wrong

Delino DeShields was optioned to AAA Nashville so Elvis could return

We rallied to score 2 in the top of the 9th & take the lead only to have Kelley give up 2 in the bottom of the ninth to lose 3-2 ending our winning streak record now stands at 25-24
Minor pitched very well again throwing 6 innings giving up 5 hits 1 run which was earned striking out 5 while walking 2 he did give up a solo HR
Elvis came back and went 2/3
Guzman & Odor each knocked in 1 run
We struck out 7 times went 1-4 with RISP & left 8 on base

Back at it today with Jurado on the hill then off to Seattle on Monday
 
Cruising along leading 5-1 after 6 innings, then Angels explode for 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th we went on to lose 7-6 our record is now 25-25
Jurado threw 6.1 innings giving up 6 hits 2 runs both were earned walked 2 struck out 2 and gave up a solo shot to Trout
Springs was terrible didn’t record an out 0.0 he gave up 4 hits 4 runs all earned
Choo & Pence each knocked in 2 Pence has 35 RBI’s now
Forsythe & Odor each knocked in 1
We struck out 17 times went 3-13 with RISP & left 8 on base

Last 2 games very disappointing should have won them both off to Seattle

Chavez opened for Sampson yet again & it’s worked Chavez pitched the first striking out 3 & allowing one hit
Sampson threw 5.0 giving up 8 hits 3 runs all earned walking 1 striking out 6
Guzman knocked in 3 hitting his 6th HR it was a 3 run blast
Mazara hit his 7th of the season a 2 run shot
Cabrera & Pence each drove in 2 runs
We struck out 12 more times led by Gallo & Cabrera who each whiffed three times
Went 4-10 with RISP & left 6 on base

We go with our opener again today Leclerc gets the call in this afternoon game, we then fly home to face the Royals
 
Cabrera’s hit rallied us to an 8-7 victory, our record is now 27-26
Cabrera,Choo & Pence all knocked in 2 runs
Odor & Guzman each knocked in 1 run
Forsythe & Mazara both went 3/5
We struck out 9 times & went 5-13 with RISP left 8 on base
Gallo had X-rays done on his right wrist, they came back negative ~ he injured it striking out in Tuesday nights game
We recalled Zack Granite (OF) from AAA Nashville

Our longest home stand of this season starts tonight 11 games 7 of our 11 games are against the Royals & Orioles both are last place teams ~ let’s see if we can go 8-3
Amazingly we are over .500 with a 10-18 road record that’s the 3rd worst win % in all of MLB
We have won 4 of our last 5 series & are 7-1 in rubber games
 
One bad pitch to Soler was the difference in this game as we lose 4-2 to the lowly Royals our record is now 27-27
Typical bad loss just as you think we are turning the corner
Minor lasted only 5.0 innings allowing 8 hits 3 runs all earned walked 2 struck out 8 he threw 113 pitches
Choo-Choo & Mazara each hit solo shots Choo his 10th of the season Mazara his 8th
Gallo back in the lineup going 0/3 striking out twice
We struck out 12 more times went 0-2 with RISP & left 5 on base

Just can’t lose tonight’s game....

Gallo went 1/4 knocking in 4 struck out twice batting .272
Mazara & Elvis each knocked in one
We struck out 8 times went 3/3 with RISP & left 2 on base
Ended up winning 11 of our last 16 games for month of May
 
For the second day in a row we won 6-2 our record now stands at 29-27
Lynn went 6.1 allowing 6 hits 2 runs both earned walking none & striking out 7
Gallo hit his 17th HR a 2 run shot, but then left in the 5th with an left oblique muscle injury he will have a MRI to see the extent of the injury
Elvis,Choo-Choo,Mazara & Mathis all knocked in one run
We only struck out 6 times & went 2/7 with RISP left 10 on base

Amazingly our SP’s are 7-3 with a 2.94 ERA over our last 17 games

While I’m enjoying this nice run we are on I am still not sold “we’ve turned the corner” just yet
Our SP’s have been excellent, lost our biggest HR threat Delino is coming back & will be our everyday CF while Gallo is out
It’s shit or get off the pot for him before getting sent down he struggled at the plate

Would be the perfect time for ownership to get us one more big bat & a real closer like Kimbrel but they are very reluctant to spend

We went 1-9 with RISP & left 10 on base again that’s 2 nights in a row we struck out 9 times
Choo-Choo a rare bad night 0-5 striking out 5 times
