If you add Russ to Detroit does that make them a top 4 seed ? Assuming Blake’s healthy ?

Doesn’t sound like OKC is going send Russ anywhere he doesn’t want to go
I think they are ECF material in that case, as long as Blake healthy and it's a very big question

In all honesty... Detroit was the 8th seed last year and that was with their total collapse late in the year...6 or 7 was looking like their seed...

Looking at the East right now...

Bucks
Pacers
Sixers

Celtics
Nets
Stons
Orlando
Miami

Detroit without adding anyone is fully capable of the 4th-6th seed as is.

Russ would make them around a 3-5 seed or so....

I don't think their is a chance at all he is coming though.

nba executives really need to take some classes concerning their overpaying for big names and how to spend money more efficiently while staying under the salary cap.
some of these contracts are purely desperate moves trying to land 1 superstar in hopes that they can carry the team to a championship, when instead they should be trying to build a solid all-around roster. you don't spend 40 mil a year on 1 player when you have 3 holes elsewhere that can be filled for a total of 40 mil. giving john wall 40 mil/year was one of the dumbest signings in sports history, but the lillard 50 mil/year is almost as bad. whichever GM chooses to bring over westbrook for 40 mil should also be fired on the spot. there are only like 5 guys in the entire league that can justify a 30+ mil salary, especially when there are quality players making 10-15 mil a year. watching these GM's is almost like watching rookie fantasy drafters that burn through their cash in the first few rounds and then have to try to weasel trades to salvage a tolerable rest of the roster.

Raps should be in that 2nd group, they still win 45 imo

Siakim better, OG will get more pt, they were something like 17-8 without kiwi

No Janis?

I agree... Toronto should be solid... Unless Ujiri decides to blow this roster up and a rebuild

If Oubre gets such a deal, Danny Green was worth it as well. Both are 3&D, but Green got 3 Finals and two titles under his belt...

Just heard Nick Wright bring up a potential landing spot for Russ...San Antonio. Not sure if he was simply talking smack or had some “scoop” as to it being possible. Said that the DeRozan contract would be a fit as far as the numbers go. Pop would seemingly be a great coach for Russ.

It would be very interesting to see RW get coached by Pop... hope there is truth to this rumor...

Russ as a Rocket...desperation mode 101. Russ and Jimmy I’m sure will share well...what could possibly go wrong other than everything melts down entirely, right? Smh

Meh. Russ gets such a bad rap it’s silly. Plus they’ve already played together and you’d have to imagine they consulted Beard before making the move...if he didn’t want to play with him he would have objected.

I love it

Apparently this is where Westbrook wanted to go

Best part is watching how pissed CP3 is, deserves it....

Just imagine this can be traced all the way back to him declining the SuperMax with LAC. He had his chances with the Rockets, they needed to change like the Raptors last season. Although TOR didn't give up this much...

Oh I agree, Larry. Beard approved this move. Russ has the ability if he accepts a certain role to make this an amazing and franchise changing move. But I just think he’s too stat-focused and will have an issue playing second fiddle to Jimmy. If he falls into the make other players better standard PG role (and improved his 3P and FT%’s this could be amazing to watch. Just need to see him do those things before I buy in to this not being a deserpation move to keep up with the Joneses.

And Adam Silver...PLEASE kill the East West 1-8 playoff debacle and rank the top 16 playoff teams regardless of conference. With this West you could have some insane matchups that way.

Yep, fuck CP3

The beauty is that CP3 has a contract that would essentially cancel Russ’s out. It’s a match made in heaven. Send CP3 to OKC so he can be “the man” and can be the malcontent he seemingly loves to be.

And the Rockets have reached out to OKC to gauge their interest in a swap.

Outside of shooting too much at times and taking untimely shots, he absolutely makes his teammates better. Anyone not thinking so just listens to the BS about him.

Lol. Well they’re clearly out since Broussard said they’re going to get him.

I’m just sticking with Houston since I brought it up before any of these slugs in the media reported it themselves. I was at least one full day before anyone.

BAR!! Sorry, I’m going to toot my horn a bit here, at least for tonight.

He’s as dynamic a player as there is in the league, no denying. But he shot under 66% from the stripe and under 30% from behind the arc. In a league where 90 guys are 35% (20 are 40%+) or better from 3, he just isn’t a good enough shooter to take as many shots as he does.

Now can he go from a volume offensive #1 weapon to a sidekick to Beard? Don’t know. But it’s going to be a great storyline to follow...NBA offseason has become absolutely amazing to follow.

I think jazz are top 3

I can see them at 1 though, kawhi and lebron both gonna load manage for sure

Dubs may load manage steph a bit, especially since DAR can play point so much

Rockets wont have blake till the deadline prolly, and they have to see how riding harden to the ground in the regular season is ruining him in may

My guess right now, assuming the above and no major injuries

1. Nuggets
2. Jazz
3. Clippers
4. Lakers
5. Rockets
6. Portland
7. Dubs
8. Me and reno's KINGS

Where are the Rockets now? Have to be top 3 right? They have a big man in Capela to go with 2 of the top 5-7 players in the league. Easily top 3 for me in the West now, would like to hear some thoughts

Not sure about this trade and how it affects my 'Run it back' future on the 2019/20 NBA Champion Houston Rockets.

But as I've posted before and approved by the teacup reading NBA cloaks the next NBA champion will be a currently ring-less former member of this quartet.

Guess 2 eggs are in one basket now.

Not a Russ the Muss fan but if he gels with his old buddy Jimmy good things could be on the horizon.

Thank fuck we don't have to see CP3 flopping his way through another playoff series, unless somehow he ends up in Purp n' Gold.

Hate that idea.

Really? Watching 6-8 in the East w teams that are below 500 vs teams that are in a conference where you can have 3-4 teams above 500 and miss the playoffs?

I believe NHL in the 80s might’ve done it this way. The West has had a better winning percentage in something like 20 of the last 21 years. It’s something crazy like that. I like the idea because it would make the playoffs even better IMO

Lakers. No defense, not gonna win it all. Gonna be fun to see Cramps run the point and try to guard opposing PG's at the same time.

Clippers. Defensively sound but no shot creators. Kawhi improved slightly in this area but Playoff P remains the same.

I like my position out West.

If you're going to seed the top 8 from each league from 1-16 then they need to get rid of the conferences and take the top 16 teams and seed them and even out as best as possible the teams you play. Expand to 36 teams, play the other 35 teams home and away, take top 16 to playoffs.
