2016 NBA Playoffs: First Round Discussion

Anyone like the UNDER game 1 BOS/ATL? 207 seems pretty nuts unless I'm seeing this series wrong. I think BOS wins this series and does it on the D end.

I see 204.5 everywhere... no real opinion. I havent seen the hawks play in the past two weeks but they definitely have turned things around defensively the last month or so

The Hornets have been very impressive, I agree with that... I just have seen them not being able to sustain DD leads and get complacent and out of wack... in the playoffs the pressure is magnified. If the Hornets can make their 3's like they have most of this season they should be good... i'll be on them in their home games

The Dubs also have trouble sustaining double-digit leads and get complacent and out of wack. NBA is a game of runs.

Hornets were 33-1 SU in games in which their biggest lead was 10 or more this season, that's one blown game.

Heat were 33-13 SU in games in which their biggest lead was 10 or more this season, that's 13 blown games.

Heat also went 3-4 SU in their last 7-games in which they held a double-digit lead,

Hornets are currently on a 24-game win streak in games in which they held a double-digit lead.

Charlotte is the better team and should win this series outside of potential league agendas.

toughest opponent for dubs are themselves. i mean they might be exhausted mentally and physically reaching the NBA finals vs cavs. with the media record broken in last regular season, they are not as rested as spurs and will have likely to play spurs or OKC in a 6/7 games series. they should win in the end but there will be very good opportunity to fade them ATS speaking like when they were vs MEM last playoffs season

Dubs have some options when they play Houston if they want to hack-a-howard. It'll be Bogut and Ezeli playing center but if they ever decide to fuck with Houston's pace or momentum, they can put in Varajao to use his 6 fouls. That was a nice cheap pick up mid season. And if the Clips and Dubs take care of business like they should, same thing can be said for hack-a- deandre in the next round.

can't believe bookies let's ats streaking teams following their momentum when a team gets hot

the only issue i have is that it take into account last few regular seasons games if team was already on ats streak

for eg: DAL in 2010-2011 when i type ats streak=15 they have just 11 ATS streak in Pplayoffs +4 ats streak in end of regular season
don't know the tip to get rid off reg season streak

Edou1x, it looks like that trend hasn't done so well over the past couple of years...

3 overs for me
g st hou
spurs mem
port lac

i would forget about GS-HOU O, 6 of last 8 between the two have finished below 225 pts. 225 and more totals in playoffs are 3-0 Under but more importantly double digit dogs facing total>200 in playoffs are 80%U/O (12-3) since 2007. first game of playoffs with defending champions smell a good joe public over steam. total is inflated. only argument is GS-HOU on 2 day rest are 20-6 combined but playoffs are different animal than regular one. good luck anyway, but at first sight it doesn't smell good for me

I put $100 on rockets to win the series a +4000
waste, most likely, but was worth it.

My locals are strange, one had +4000 the other had +2500...wonder why such a huge difference! not that it will matter

The Rockets have been so volatile the bet might end up worth it. If they just sucked all the time people could make money by just betting against them, but they're too crazy and erratic to make money by betting against them.

Better off donating that 100 to a local charity, would be the biggest upset in the history of the league if it did occur.

Rockets were basically handed the 8-seed by the Jazz and an extremely easy final 3 games, shouldn't really be there.

All the best either way, Wiz.

From Sports Insights:

Portland coach Terry Stotts has gone just 5-14 ATS (26.3%) in the postseason including a 2-8 ATS record on the road.

no doubt Em. Just a bs wager for fun. Just need Beverly to knee Curry, Beasley to concuss Klay, Hakeem and Otis Thorpe to join. LOL.

GL this postseason man!

If Beverly took Russell Westbrook out while he was calling a time out, who knows what he might try to do with Curry? Various possibilities like that might add up to more than 2.5 %, making 40-1 a decent bet...

I might throw 10 bucks on the Rockets. Or one buck. And I mean one US dollar, not gamblerspeak. I think the sexiness of 40-1 will wear off after a couple curb stomps.

If he tries anything like that Draymond might actually knock him the fuck out. Imo the Warriors can beat the rockets sans Curry for the entire series. Houston is way too erratic defensively. It is the playoffs so I guess that should be better but still I cannot trust Dwight the clown Howard

U guys really think that was dirty
come on

Raptors on a 1-6 SU (0-7 ATS) postseason run, overall the Drakes are 6-16 SU (7-15 ATS) in the playoffs.

Just a shitty postseason team. Casey got exposed by Wittman last postseason, that says a lot.

Agree with you here. Dubs would win this series without Curry, Kerr should just rest him until the next round.

So if Curry gets bushwhacked (like Nash was by Horry in a playoff game vs the Spurs way back when), then Beverly gets knocked out, the Warriors suffer a lot more than the Rockets. And you're right, half the Warriors team would probably have to get the rickets before Houston could beat them. But then again, Houston is so crazy the win (with Curry out) might not be a 97.5 % certainty...

All the parity this postseason is out East, there is none out West - it's the haves v the have nots.

You want competitive games then ignore the 1st Round in the West and watch the 1st Round in the East,

the league may surprise but it's unlikely.

The bottom 4 seeds in the West aren't winning a series. Blazers being the only team with a remote chance of upsetting.

i played the hornets and the hawks in the first series....also cavs to win the east and dubs to win it all....probably gonna play cavs and hawks in game 1 and will look at c's 1h and under fg....maybe gsw under as both teams will probably bring what d they have, well at least hou will....and clips in game 1

Beverley is their best defender and really the only guy on the team that gives a damn. They don't stand a chance of winning a game without him IMO.

It's not that play... But that was uncalled for too.

Im talking about the one where Westbrook hurt his knee

Yes. His antics won't be tolerated by the Warriors. Even if they risk one of their players being suspended for a game. Beverly is more important to the rockets than any one player is to the Warriors IMO

Harden FTA's this season = 837, leads the league. 2nd most = 663 FTA's. Will be the difference between GS covering or not, imo.

Houston sucks but I don't mind watching them run up n down and play zero defense lol

I'd watch a game first. Think that's what I'm probably going to do. The last two weeks tends to leave a false sense of what teams really are like when they give full effort.

Still think Warriors defense when it matters is incredible and that certainly could keep a total down but they will score a lot. Possibly chase that, and work with it live if I have to
