The South Carolina Gamecocks are predicted to win the 2014 Southeastern Conference baseball championship by a slim one-vote margin, as voted by the league’s 14 baseball coaches in the 23rd annual preseason SEC poll.
The Gamecocks, ranked No. 14 nationally in the preseason USA Today Coaches’ Poll, seek to capture their fourth SEC Championship. LSU and Mississippi State, ranked second and fourth in the USA Today poll respectively, received four votes each in the overall vote.
LSU has 15 SEC Championships in its program’s history, while Mississippi State has 10, the last of which came in 1989. Vanderbilt also received one vote to win the league title.
Since 1996, the SEC has named a regular season champion as well as a tournament champion. Prior to 1996, the tournament champion was considered the SEC Champion.
In addition to picking a preseason SEC champion, the league’s head coaches voted a predicted order of finish in the SEC Eastern and Western Divisions. In the Western Division, LSU was the narrow favorite with 84 of a possible 91 points. Mississippi State came in second with 83 points, with Alabama and Texas A&M tied at third with 58. South Carolina received 86 points in the Eastern Division. Vanderbilt was second with 82, while Florida finished third with 69.
Points were compiled on a 7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis for each division. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team. Each coach also voted for one team as an overall conference champion.
The 2014 SEC regular season begins Friday, February 14, with conference play set to begin Friday, March 14. The SEC Tournament will be played at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Ala., May 20-25. The 2013 SEC Baseball Tournament drew over 134,000 fans, a new record-high for the event. Eight times in the last 11 years the tournament has surpassed the six-digit mark in total attendance.

Only loosely follow college bases, don't bet til the postseason

Getting some sun at the pool while getting ready to pull up the pac12 network on the phone to watch ASU-Baylor. ASU pitcher looked sharp the first couple innings before I came out here, wicked curve.

Dammit I hate that lines aren't widely available. Wanted to fade Clemson so bad and it's likely EMU woulda been like +750 ish

I know the FSU game has already started but been doing decently lately. Today I've so far played

FSU/South Carolina +130
Fullerton +135
Lafayette -140

Well unless Fullerton blows a monster lead it looks like 2-1 +1.35 on the day. Will look again tomorrow

3/1
Clemson usually plays better in Greenville but the -125 value on SoCar is still very tempting. SoCar is deep in Clemsons heads in baseball and football and last night just furthered it. Lean Cocks
Think Oregon loosens up today. CSF hasn't swept either series so far and I'm pretty sure we see a rubber match tomorrow. Mild value on Ducks
Louisville - will be added in parlay. Indiana overrated based on last year
Noles - hate to go back to well on them but don't see them losing series. Bats wake up today

Plays
NCSU -110 - Pack saved Rodon for today and no doubt he's a top arm. Game essentially in Raleigh too
Ville/Noles +142
SoCar/Oregon 0.50-1.18

Don't care really. Bet 2 units on you guys today at -120. Figured we were mentally beat. They really made me sweat it apparently. I didn't watch but saw we gave up 4 in the ninth. Lots of Clemson fans tired of Leggett and most of it is because of the decline of the program but a lot of it is bc he's a straight up asshole. Lots of kids on SoCars roster over the past few years who grew up Clemson fans but Leggett thought he could get better out of state. One of them was a personal friend and Leggett pretty much blew him off. He left SoCar after 3 years and has been mostly in triple A but has had a few callups. I doubt I follow too closely unless 5Dimes continues with the lines

Congrats on the sweep
