here's McShays big board, not a mock

1.png
Star Lotulelei
DT
6-3
320
254.gif

Analysis: Lotulelei is the most complete defensive lineman in the class in terms of physical tools. He dominates interior offensive linemen with his blend of quickness and power. He shows strong hands, nimble feet and the ability to quickly discard blockers, and he has impressive lateral range. Lotulelei needs some polish as a pass-rusher, but his natural gifts are clearly a cut above. Previously: 1

2.jpg
Damontre Moore*
DE
6-4
248
245.gif

Analysis: He is a versatile prospect who can play outside linebacker in a 3-4, right or left end in a 4-3 and even move inside to rush the passer from the interior. Moore is quick and fluid as a pass-rusher, is able to hold up against the run and plays hard. Previously: 3

3.jpg
Chance Warmack
OG
6-2⅜
325
333.gif

Analysis: Warmack is a big, strong, nasty lineman with good smarts and athleticism. He shows awareness, is an easy mover in pass protection and has power as a run-blocker. The best guard I've evaluated in the past decade, Warmack is the rare interior lineman worthy of a top-10 overall pick. Previously: 4

4.jpg
Luke Joeckel*
OT
6-5¾
306
245.gif

Analysis: Joeckel has fared well against the likes of Alabama and LSU this season. His balance and ability to recover in pass protection stand out, and he takes good angles and is able to get to the second level in the run game. Previously: 5

5.jpg
Jarvis Jones*
OLB
6-2
242
61.gif

Analysis: Going from No. 2 to No. 5 may seem like a big drop, but it's really not. The closer we get to draft there will be more concern about his durability. But he still a great player. Jones has been a steady performer on a defense loaded with NFL prospects. He is a good overall athlete and top-notch pass-rusher, has impressive range in pass coverage and against the run, and can line up all over the defensive formation. Previously: 2

<offer></offer>
6.jpg
Barkevious Mingo*
DE
6-5
240
99.gif

Analysis: Mingo's production has not been as high as expected, but he has still been disruptive. His long frame, elite first step and outstanding speed for his size make him a major weapon off the edge. He also has great range and closing burst against the run, and shows plenty of upside. Previously: 6

7.jpg
Manti Te'o
ILB
6-1
248
87.gif

Analysis: Te'o moves well in space for a player his size, displaying range and playmaking skills in underneath coverage and the ability to hold the point and deliver blows as a run defender. He is a three-down linebacker with the kind of intangibles that teams seek in their defensive leaders. Previously: 7

8.png
Bjoern Werner*
DE
6-4
255
52.gif

Analysis: Werner burst on the scene early in the season with improved pass-rush skills that complement his ability to set the edge against the run. His production tailed off some late in the year, but Werner's quickness and strong hands are impressive, and he can convert speed to power when rushing the passer. Previously: 9

9.jpg
Johnathan Hankins*
DT
6-3
335
194.gif

Analysis: Hankins shows the size and strength to occupy multiple blockers against the run and doesn't back down at the point of attack. He can also make plays with his effort as a pass-rusher. Previously: 8

10.jpg
Sylvester Williams
DT
6-2
320
153.gif

Analysis: Williams showed in a dominating performance against Virginia earlier this season that he is playing faster than ever after shedding weight and getting fully healthy. He has the power to press blockers into the backfield, pop at the point of attack as a tackler, and instincts and quick hands to get off blocks. Previously: 10

11.jpg
Dee Milliner*
CB
6-0¾
197
333.gif

Analysis: Milliner's instincts, recognition skills and discipline stand out, and he is reliable in run support. He's not elite in man coverage but is excellent in zone, and his good top-end speed and short-area quickness help make him the clear No. 1 corner on the board.Previously: 11

12.png
Dion Jordan
DE
6-6⅛
239
2483.gif

Analysis: Jordan dealt with a nagging shoulder injury late in the season, but he is long and athletic and has explosive upper-body power despite his lean frame. He can rush the passer from a two- or three-point stance, holds up in space and has the versatility to play multiple roles along the front seven. Previously: 12

13.png
Taylor Lewan*
OT
6-7
302
130.gif

Analysis: Lewan uses his length and feet effectively while protecting the edge. He flashes the ability to drive defenders off the ball as a run-blocker and is a tenacious player who gets under the skin of defenders. Previously: 13

14.png
Jonathan Cooper
OG
6-3
320
153.gif

Analysis: Cooper's quickness, mobility, explosive power, good feet and balance all jump out on film. He is the best blocker in the class in space, shows awareness in pass protection and plays with an edge. Cooper is making a solid case as an early first-round pick. Previously: 14

15.jpg
Johnathan Jenkins
DT
6-4⅛
363
61.gif

Analysis: A massive two-gap nose tackle with a good combination of size, strength and short-area quickness to control the inside and occasionally contribute as a pass-rusher. Jenkins' range is limited, but he is an asset as an interior plugger. Previously: 15

16.jpg
Kenny Vaccaro
S
6-0½
210
251.gif

Analysis: Vaccaro has rare movement skills for a safety, showing balance, explosiveness and the ability to flip his hips and run with receivers. He has good instincts and solid ball skills in coverage. Previously: 16

17.jpg
Sam Montgomery*
DE
6-4
245
99.gif

Analysis: Montgomery is not as athletic as Mingo, but his power as a pass-rusher stands out, and he holds the point well against the run. Previously: 17

18.png
Alec Ogletree*
ILB
6-3
237
61.gif

Analysis: Ogletree is a raw prospect in terms of instincts, but he is a freakish athlete who chases plays from sideline to sideline and shows good potential as a pass-rusher. He needs to get more stout at the point of attack, though, and there are some character flags. Previously: 18

19.jpg
Ezekiel Ansah*
DE
6-6
273
252.gif

Analysis: Ansah has limited football experience but surprising versatility and instincts. He has lined up at nose tackle, 5-technique DE and outside linebacker in BYU's 3-4 scheme, and his hand use and gap discipline are improving steadily. His rare combination of size, speed and natural athleticism is evident. He closes like a cheetah, has a 39-inch vertical jump and ran for the BYU track team in addition to trying out for the basketball team. Ansah is clearly raw, but teams are taking notice of his skill set, athleticism and production.Previously: 19

20.jpg
Eric Fisher
OT
6-7⅛
297
2117.gif

Analysis: Fisher has impressive length, is light on his feet and plays with balance when protecting the edge. He shows good footwork and the ability to hit moving targets when pulling, and appears to have the power to create movement at the point of attack.Previously: 20

21.png
Sheldon Richardson
DT
6-2⅞
290
142.gif

Analysis: Another prospect who was clearly the best on his unit and played hard despite his team's overall struggles. Richardson can penetrate with a quick first step and has excellent straight-line speed, good range and power as a bull rusher. Previously: 22

22.jpg
Anthony Barr*
OLB
6-4
238
26.gif

Analysis: In our Dec. 12 Nickel Package, we noted that Barr could be a potential first-round pick if he decides to enter the 2013 draft. Barr is a really talented pass-rusher and just scratching the surface. He has a big frame, is athletic and can anchor when he plays with leverage. Barr led the nation with 13.5 sacks, and had 82 total tackles, including 20.5 tackles for a loss, which was fourth best in the nation. Previously: NR

23.jpg
Geno Smith
QB
6-2¾
208
277.gif

Analysis: Smith's stock has taken a hit in recent weeks because of inconsistency and some poor decisions. When he's at his best, though, Smith's confidence, footwork and mechanics all stand out, and that's what puts him atop this year's quarterback class. Previously: 23

24.jpg
Corey Lemonier*
DE
6-4
242
2.gif

Analysis: Lemonier continued to play at a high level all season despite clearly being the best player on his defense and getting extra attention from opposing offenses. He has an explosive first step and shows impressive closing burst, holds up well against the run and plays with a relentless motor. Previously: 21

25.png
Johnthan Banks
CB
6-2⅛
185
344.gif

Analysis: A tall corner with good length, Banks has quick feet and is at his best in press coverage. He flashes good ball skills and some punt-return ability, and he is active and willing in run support. Previously: 27

26.png
Justin Hunter*
WR
6-4
205
2633.gif

Analysis: Hunter's smooth routes and body control on tape earned him a top-10 grade going into the season, but his production didn't match his potential and his ball skills were inconsistent. He remains the top receiver on the board, though, thanks to his size and overall physical tools. Previously: 24

27.jpg
Kawann Short
DT
6-3⅛
325
2509.gif

Analysis: Short showed more consistency, better effort and impressive production in 2012. He displayed explosiveness and the ability to penetrate and disrupt along the interior, giving himself a chance to be in the first-round mix. Previously: 25

28.png
Keenan Allen*
WR
6-3
206
25.gif

Analysis: Allen was consistently productive during the regular season thanks to a good combination of size and speed, excellent hands and solid body control. He lacks the elite speed to run past NFL defenders, but his size and strength allow him to win one-on-one battles down the field. Previously: 26

29.png
Shariff Floyd*
DT
6-3
298
57.gif

Analysis: Floyd doesn't have ideal size for a defensive tackle, but he's versatile enough to line up at end and shows quick hands, good lateral mobility and the power to walk blockers back to the quarterback. He had a monster season and is creating first-round buzz. Previously: 28

30.png
Matt Barkley
QB
6-1⅞
228
30.gif

Analysis: Barkley is a huge question mark. Our Dec. 19 Nickel Package examines why. The biggest question is where does he fit and with what team? Barkley lacks size and elite physical tools, and doesn't drive the ball down the field effectively. However, he is a smart, accurate passer who can handle the blitz, and his ability to throw in rhythm would fit well in a West Coast offense. Previously: 29

31.png
Zach Ertz*
TE
6-6
249
24.gif

Analysis: Ertz showed off his ball skills and body control in the Cardinal's upset win over Oregon, coming down with a jump ball in the back of the end zone for the game-tying touchdown late in regulation. He's a solid route-runner who can create mismatches with his size and separate from coverage, shows speed to stretch the seam and is an effective wall-off blocker. Previously: 31

32.png
Cordarrelle Patterson*
WR
6-3
205
2633.gif

Analysis: Patterson, who has played one season with the Volunteers after arriving from junior college, has scored touchdowns four ways: receiving, rushing, punt return and kickoff return. He averaged 27.7 yards on kickoff returns, tying him for 16th in the nation. Patterson had 1,858 all-purpose yards this season, a school record, and even completed the only pass he threw. Previously: NR

Out of the rankings: Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert and Tennessee OT Dallas Thomas

I think the Chiefs end up taking Geno, they have 4 months to talk themselves in to him, he will probably have a great workout

after that seems to be a bit of a crapshoot

someone is going to reaaaaaaach for Glennon

I think you're right and they will regret that pick for years. He is just not a good QB.

kind of weird that there is no elite players in this draft at skill positions. Literally not one guy I would want to take with a first round pick at the QB, RB, or WR position. Best prospects are Joeckel, Jones (he's prolly #1 if he can overcome the size issue), Warmack, and Hankins. Everyone else is undersized or overrated. I will also LMBAO if the Chefs wind up spending their #1 pick on a DT from Utah.

Warmack is a big, strong, nasty lineman with good smarts and athleticism. He shows awareness, is an easy mover in pass protection and has power as a run-blocker. The best guard I've evaluated in the past decade, Warmack is the rare interior lineman worthy of a top-10 overall pick.

This please.

Also, if the Browns or Birds draft an LB with their #1 pick Joe may literally break down and cry tears of joy.

There will be no pictures of this event, you'll just have to take his word for it.

agree on worst draft ever for skill guys, lions should go one of three ways or i am done....Luke Joekel, Demontre Moore, and Teo. Thats it. No lockdown corners supposedly and safety class is deep so can be had in 2nd 3rd round.

this will probably be mayhew's last draft, he has ruined this team with luxury picks the last few years, like Best, Leshoure, Pettigrew, Titus Young, Broyles and flat out ignored much bigger needs. Not to mention taking Fairley a year after Suh, you know both cant dominate it just never happens and you know you cant pay two DT in 3 or 4 years mega millions. Too much $$ tied up in a d line, peanuts for LBs and DBs wont get you shit, plus the character of these guys is horrendous.

lot of people like Tyler Wilson, I like him more than Geno.

IMO the Chiefs will NOT resign LT Brandon Albert, then draft the A&M LT with the #1.....then get a QB in 2nd round and get Alex Smith or Matt Flynn.

makes too much sense.. so don't count on the chiefs doing it

I'd like to see the Rams trade one of their 1st rounders to add more high round picks. This years draft doesn't excite me so add to the 2014 draft.

San Fran with 14 picks in this years draft; including (3) 3rd rounders..... They have no room on their roster, as is. Look for them to trade them for more picks next year or to move up. They will be very active trading picks though; make no mistake about it.

wonder how high eddie lacy goes. i hope the falcons dont get him but my guess is he'll fly up the draft boards come combine time

ya, if it happens I will certainly talk myself in to it

but I would much rather focus on defense at 3 and give TP a shot

teed, you're so logical everywhere else. Why so crazy when talking about the Raiders?

Smoke, you can change that disturbing avy whenever you're ready.

Well, I guess I at least know what Big Balls Chip is ... who's the crazy, mustachioed, wild-eyed, fist-pumping, trench coat guy in teed's avy? Been meaning to ask that for weeks.

It actually took me until you brought up his avi to really look at it. When I first saw it I just glanced at it and thought it was money or something. But, as Steed would say, now I can't stop seeing his balls.

Money or something, in skin-colored sacks stretching out of his crotch, with prickly pubes poking out. Nothing gets by you, JoeP.

Tottenham's coach, with whom I am 99% sure teeed spends lonely late nights having imaginary conversations with while dressed like Buffalo Bill in his basement from Silence of the Lambs.

it rubs the lotion on its skin, it does this whenever its told.

Browns are definitely gonna get trade raped in by the Pats

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss believes the Patriots would trade Ryan Mallett "in a heartbeat" if they were offered an early second-round pick.

Reiss' response to a chat question about Mallett suggests he doesn't believe the Pats fancy him as Tom Brady's heir apparent. (We don't believe they do, either.) Reiss says he'd be "surprised" if New England got that kind of offer, but it's not impossible. Perhaps new Browns VP of Player Personnel Mike Lombardi -- a known Mallett lover -- would dangle the 68th and 101st overall picks.
Related: Browns

The media in Cleveland seems to really want to stoke the Alex Smith fires.

Also, sweet Jesus, just the idea of starting over at QB for the like the 5th time in four seasons makes me want to throw up.

5th time in four seasons? You're being kind. The Browns have had a brand new (for them) first time starting QB 9 times in 10 years, all but once since Tim Couch. Think the legendary Charlie Frye pulled it off twice.

Seeing a couple mock drafts with not only Geno Smith, but Ryan Nassib and Tyler Wilson going in the top 10 picks. Teams can't be that dumb, can they?

I get that logic, but the reaching that has happened the last few years has been pretty absurd. Smith is 2nd or 3rd round talent, Nassib and Wilson are guys you take in round 4-6 and pray that one of them pans out. The Bills, Cards, Browns, Chefs, etc have plenty of needs that they could fill with legit 1st round talent rather than wasting it on guys that are real longshots to be good pros.

Ryan Fucking Nassib. There is no defending that decision.

Until I see one guy who played QB in an Air Raid or other gimmicky offense in college succeed in the pros, I'm a non-believer.

And don't say Cam. Only took 1 season for defense to adjust to him, he was garbage this year. Same with RGIII, I need more than 1 season before I'm ready to crown him legit.

Please, please Big Mac trade the Raiders pick (#3) for whatever you can get...ton of holes to fill and no 2nd rounder.

draft insider.net:

- Quarterback Ryan Nassib is back on the Syracuse campus preparing for the combine where he’s working with two well known names. Former NFL offensive coordinator Paul Hackett as well as Ken Anderson, starting quarterback with the Cincinnati Bengals for 17 years and himself a quarterbacks and receivers coach in the league, are both helping Nassib fine tune his game. At present time the game plan includes Nassib throwing at the combine later this month. Where will the quarterback fall in the draft? We hear three teams who select at the top of round two, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets, think highly of Nassib. Its not out of the question one of these teams moves back into the late part of round one to select the Syracuse product.

cam had virtually the same season this year as last. if they got rid of that moron rivera, he'd have won at least a couple more games.

Barkley is the only qb I would draft. Geno Smith? I dunno, when he gets rattled he's done. Kid hates being touched.

think Barkley's a bigger bust than all of them. Geno will be mediocre. This is all a case of teams trying to create something that isnt there. Everyone wants this years Luck, RG3 or Wilson and can't accept the fact that there simply is no Luck RG3 or Wilson.

I wouldnt take any of these guys in the top 10. Later in the 1st I'd consider Geno or Nassib if the team's scouts like them.

Im just praying Philly ends up with EJ
