***World Series In-Game***

Yeah, I can't ever see them doing a running clock. But I believe everywhere but the majors has a pitch clock now, so that's coming. For some reason, though, the post-season games have all felt like marathons. Even with the three batter rule for pitchers. I'm sure MLB hates it too.
They do pitch clocks in spring training

It's changed nothing

Baseball is going to struggle if it doesn't change something (and I'm not remotely qualified to say what) but 20 years from now it will be a dinosaur unless it makes hard changes that traditionalists will hate

We might need a Turner Broadcasting thread on MLB graphics/commentators

Can’t recall who said it but i like the commentary but their graphics are just piss

Baz a deer in headlights

It speaks to Rays awesomeness that im shocked when they trot out one these kids with hardly any experience and he gets hit. Normally I would expect that from a kid with only a handful of mlb starts! Not w tampa, I see a kid that appears to have filth and just assume he be excellent! How many legit contenders have the guts to even send out a kid with that few starts in game 2?!?!!?

Plus it never seems to ruin them! I still remember how Rick Ankeal (hope that spelling close enough to know who I mean! Lol!!) fell apart and never recovered after we tried to have him start a playoff series vs Braves! He was throwing ball info the seats! He was never the same and had to reinvent himself as a outfielder, amazing transformation that was by him!

Pretty sure he's still a sophomore in HS

Lmfao. I have never even seen or heard of him really. Guess I heard a little talk bout the potential they had in minors in reference to him. Def 1st time I capped him today. Certainly appears to have some filthy stuff!!

Challenge accepted

Hahahahahahaha. I would love to see this. Although, in all seriousness, Cease is apparently a HUGE ultimate frisbee/frisbee golf guy. I'm not actually sure what the difference is, but he's like way into it. Which ... hey, whatever works for you.

Why are the Sox throwing Rodon tomorrow?

Perfect spot for Lynn...if they start Lynn for potential g5 they've fucked the rooster

The wrist snap is real and can put you on the shelf for a couple years

I know it’s only 3 outs but Cease looked really good

The downside to it is that the Astros hit fastballs really well and if, at any point, they catch up to it, that ball is going to go a long, long way. The though process, I think, is, get him through the order twice and turn it over to Kopech in say the fourth or fifth.

The defensive positioning of the Astros in this series has been damn near impeccable. Kudos to Dusty Baker.

That said, everybody was hitting that pitcher pretty well other than Jose who I have no doubt will adjust.

Pretty much the wost case scenario for the Sox here. The moment proves to be too much for Cease, he can't get out of the second. Going to have to outscore this team tonight.

And to KJ's point, if the Sox lose this game, a normal organization would rightly fire LaRussa. The Sox won't, and they'd have to hope he does the right thing and walks away—which, who knows—but you can't have this much talent and go down never throwing Rodon, mismanaging a series this way. Now, long, LONG way to go, but if ...

I suppose the converse of my hypothetical is, Kopech throws four-plus scoreless and the Sox win, Rodon pitches great in Game Four, and the Sox steal Game Five, LaRussa looks like a genius.

Also, I go back to, what the fuck is Leury doing in this lineup rather than Engel. Forget for a second that he's dramatically better than Garcia, look at these numbers.
Adam Engel vs RHP
.282/.374/.564 this year

Now remember that he's dramatically better in right than Leury Garcia.

All Leury has done all year is deliver big hits and I have consistently joked that as soon as people start talking shit about him, he hits for extra bases. Thank Christ that worked tonight.

Now let's win this goddamn thing, boys.
