What happened to the NBA Forum

or just tail grind. NBA is so much easier for me it's not even funny. Don't get how you guys do well in college. More power to you
With you on this one NBA. Too much emotion and variance to handicap effectively. NBA teams can usually be counted on to give the same effort night in night out.

24 second shot clock no way, zone defenses make CBB still interesting. I'm ok with 52-49 games.
From watching Alabama basketball with a shorter clock means we would only waste 20 seconds aimlessly dribbling and passing around the perimeter before throwing up a terrible shot with 3 seconds left on the clock instead of 35. Same result, less time wasted. I have no problem with it.

I gotta watch my mouth. I got reprimanded for homophobic slurs even though I'm more socially liberal than anyone on this forum
yea boy...that was quite the reprimand...the pm that says "dude please don't say fa.gg.ot anymore, we've gotten complaints" after about the eighth time you had done it....a real stern thing happened there lol

Keep CBB the way it is for most part..let them jump ball..stupid possession arrow...and give an extra foul, each player gets 6.

Keep the shot clock at where it is, it's perfect..but I can see them going to 30.

No way the guys that have an 82 game season give the same effort night in and out. If anything intensity is much more prevalent in college because of the shorter season, every game can make a difference in March.

im not a big fan of the possession arrow, Id be okay with changing that.

Totally against reducing the shot clock, the players in CBB aren't talented enough for the most part get a good shot off in 35 seconds, what makes you think it would be better in 24? I cringe when I hear this being brought up.

I watched a few games yesterday and I thought to myself that the shot clock needs to be reduced. Teams would play great D for what seems like an eternity, and then I'd look up and see the clock still at 15 seconds and thought that was frustrating to watch.

Had a feeling nbafan would say how great he is at picking games in the nba, then have no statistical evidence or anything to back it up.

I don't like starting threads. Don't keep records. Don't believe in tailing anyone. If you can't utilize the information I provide to make your own decisions you should not be betting on the sport. That's my feeling on that matter

Plus I spend more than enough time doing this every day. Keeping track of my forum record is not something I'm interested in doing
Considering that takes maybe 1 minute a day to calculate and update your record from the previous day.

when the fuck did i say how great i was? i could not care less what anyone thinks about me

these boards are about sharing information, i cant blindly tail anybody... never have never will...

craw fades me anyway so he should know how bad i am, maybe he can just keep my record since it only takes a minute a day

again, doesnt mean anything

it means i feel that you should not blindly tail anyone... but everyone is different..

done with this

Lol so sassy. Just make one thread, post all of your plays in there and we can track it.

no thanks

im not being sassy... you've made silly statements in the past

if you interpret something i post in a way that i did not intend, thats not my problem

you along with some others on here have this perception of me like I feel I am better than others or something.... I'm not. I don't know where that started or why... but im sorry that the way I type makes you guys feel that way. Its so stupid

Professional athletes give the same effort every night. That doesn't mean they produce every night necessarily. Rarely is an NBA team ever out of a game and quits, college sports if a team is down an out they give up the majority of the time. This applies to all professional sports vs college sports. Their job is to produce on a professional level. There are exceptions to everything, but the majority of the time you can count on an NBA team to not get caught up in the situation of the game more often than a college team.

Professional athletes do not give the same effort every night..... of course college athletes will give more consistent effort.... they aren't being paid to play... they could lose their spot at anytime... they are trying to make a name for themselves... they really dont have very busy lives away from the game... with the exception of school work and team events... no families to take care yada yada yada

Do you give the same effort every day at work.. highly doubt it. Same idea

and that is what makes betting on the nba easier for me i guess... more situational spots than in college

There is empirical data that shows nba players to be the laziest people in the United States workforce

id say that strongly depends on if I'm hungover or not

Reducing the shot clock would make it impossible for us to cap.

Right now, the best thing about the cbb market is there are so many styles of play and websites out there that tell you exactly how these teams play. By far the easiest sport to cap and it's not even close

Have absolutely no clue how anyone can cap nba, and how anyone could enjoy watching it. What a pos league.. Never know who's gonna try

Same info is available for the nba..

I believe the issue here is you don't enjoy the league and thats fine - because of your dislike you don't or won't take time to cap it.

Also anecdotal data. Every time I go to an NBA game, they laze around for three-and-a-half quarters, then they get busy.

I like what Jalen Rose suggested:

Eliminate divisions/conferences. Best 16 records make the playoffs and play it out like that.

I'd love for this to happen. Another rule i'd make which is similar to this is if you do not have a winning record, you do not make the playoffs.

24 second shot clock limits the type of offense the teams can play,

Idk the averages exactly but based on my mathmost teams in nba will average between 95 and 100 possessions.

In college.. There's as slow as 50 possessions compared to up to 80.

It makes capping more fun.. Coaches control college game completely and really dictate everything. Nba? Not really

you are very incorrect about this - the 24 second clock has been around since the 50's and their have been many types of offenses played and are played today. Look at what the suns and trailblazers like to do vs what memphis likes to do. look at the scores in the 2000's years, i hate the 80-75 types of games. and there were more of those than high scoring and they all used the 24 second clock...
The league this year as a whole is more enjoyable to watch because more than half the teams are running and averaging 100 or so points a game vs walking the ball up and running a play with less than 10 seconds left on the clock....

Idk the averages exactly but based on my math most teams in nba will average between 95 and 100 possessions.
and??

this is all opinion and again -
Coaches have plenty of control in the NBA, they just have better players to trust to run the offense they want.

you don't like the nba which is fine - look if you are making money in ncaa hoops great, but to say it is more fun because of possessions and shot clocks is a terrible argument - its just your opinion on being able to cap the game or league.

There certainly are a lot less people posting their picks but as long as Emkee, SNH and you keep posting, I'm more than happy.

Check out the Bucks starting 5, this is why no one watches.

Silly statement..... There will always be bad teams each year.. Btw 4 starters out with injuries....
college hoop ... The bottom 75 are unwatchable
