Welcome to the wildest coaching carousel we've seen ...

Just hire Willie Fritz and tell everybody to STFU......

Just being silly, but the damn guy might be the best coach
My guy!

I'm a Central Missouri alum. Would be so awesome and so dynamic in AA. That would be something out of left field but it would be incredible

Stay the F away from Jason Eck too, you cheating bastards. Lol
From what I understand he was up next if Jimmy Rogers didn't accept at ISU but that was pretty much a foregone conclusion as the details come in

I hadn't looked much past the first four but Chucky! Kinda surprised Minter isn't getting more talk although guessing after Sherrone they really want someone with HC experience now.

Fisch will be done at UW for the season after tomorrow night so the timing makes sense. Since it's only around 1/3 that means it's still speculation and no one on has leaked any inner thinkings. Worth the watch all the way up until tomorrow night if nothing breaks. He brings a ton of NFL connections if that's how they end up deciding to roll and that wouldn't suck right now.

this is all if if if OU wins. big if. 50/50 shot

Unless Saban has had enough of being home and doing nothing all day there really is no one out there to replace DeBoer though I will say that Mario was once an assistant under Saban but he has his dream job.

Remember the only transfer portal before next year is Jan 2-16 so I don't think waiting is much of an option

i am confused, Mate.

the portal transfer window opens Jan 2.

if Bama wins next Friday, then KD stays there as they have the quarterfinals at the rose bowl on 1/1.

if Bama loses next Friday, that is 8 losses in two seasons which they are not used to at all as Saban had 8 losses total his last 10 seasons.

i am not understanding why they cannot wait until after the Sooner game next friday 12/19 when the portal does not open up until Jan 2 ?

Do you understand that virtually all of the work on the portal happens before January 2nd? It's pretty simple.

conversations can happen.

there are 12 schools in the playoff.

8 of them play each other next weekend.

are we saying that all 8 of those schools are not working the portal right now?

we know the first person to call Bryce Underwood's people yesterday was Lane.

about 25 other coaches probably called right after.

And fwiw I think anyone objective, which I have no reason to believe the Alabama brass aren't, thinks DeBoer has done pretty well going in after Saban there. Listening to fan bases/message boards/social media and reacting is a one-way ticket to unemployment

multitasking happens at all of the top schools regardless of whether in playoff or not or in a bowl.

they have specific staff members taking care of it.

if KD does leave Bama, his players will have an extra 30 days to transfer if they want.

UM players are going to get that as well with SM gone.

i am concerned that his name kept popping up for penn state job now michigan.

it is like KD's people are looking around.

But according to your logic DeBoer doesn't even know if he's recruiting for Bama or Michigan because next week's game decides that

And if coaches in the playoff are focused on the portal, I want to bet against that team

Using Lane isn't a remote comparison

Current so it's basically Fisch +200, DeBoer +400, Dillingham +425. Two of those coaches are coaching teams beyond this week.

There is zero chance that Alabama will want De Boer to leave even with a loss. Some fans? Yes. But the school absolutely does not want to lose De Boer. And from every reputable team and national source that has talked about it, De Boer and family are very happy there and are excited about what they are building

Who you got @KJ

i will admit i have no idea

i am thinking wait just one week until the bama v sooner game is over
No clue lol

I do love the exchange markets posturing to not be gambling sites on a technicality though. I've never been to Robin Hood or the one you posted but guessing they're all the same, seems for me a better way to get ahead of line movement at some books although I know they're all watching it as well

I am trying to tune out the noise all around on this.

My best guess is that he stays.

But if heaven forbid for Bama nation, the Sooners win big, that could change the sentiment right there and then.

We are seeing the current climate and how quickly things can sweeten or they can sour.

Why doesn't Kalen come out right now and make a statement saying he is the Bama coach and he is not interested in any other job.

He is hoping to leverage UM to get an extension or more $$$ from Bama?

We knew Kalani was using PSU for leverage. That was obvious.

This situation is different.

KD has a huge contract already.

It's fair to think if OU win big it's because Bama failed big

and that would fall on DeBoer and the pressure would be insane.
I'm beginning to hate this sport even more now

If he loses game A by X amount then he might or might not be gone

This is pro football, I have no clue why it's called college football anymore. It literally has nothing to do with college other than location and fan bases. Just go away. Slowly gonna gravitate to FCS like several others, pissed I didn't do this earlier.

Look, I don't know how many times I have to say this, but nobody who matters wants De Boer gone. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase and the administration are happy with De Boer as the leader of the football program. He knew the stakes when he accepted the job and he's not running from it. A loss next week won't change that. Could he go to Michigan? Of course it's possible, but right now anyone thinking that is simply wishcasting. He has not said anything because nobody has asked him about it. He's been busy recruiting, game planning and interviewing coaches for next year's staff. I'm guessing he'll be asked the next time he has media availability and I'm near certain he will deny any interest in leaving. That won't stop the folks from continuing to talk about it until Michigan finally hires a coach though. I'd look out for Tommy Rees as a candidate

I facking hate what college football has become ...Thought I'd be safe just following the MAC but even that conference is being destroyed by NIL/portals/coaching changes and agents filling these kids with delusions of grandeur...

Never been more excited to watch the FCS playoffs this weekend

Rees is basically +2400 on the exchange

He deserves a statue

And I don't think of that in today's CFB landscape much

There are no Bo or Woody types, Saban was kinda a silent assassin so a firm maybe but the characters are missing
Pretty sure he'll have one. I do think he's left Scalley in a good position, we shall see what he does with it......

Following. Lord knows I can't stand BYU especially around here so Utes are always getting a little of the attention

Pretty sure ISU got another coach who will stay for years regardless the chirping which is all we want. Continuity. And Kyle offered that all over.

Exactly. A new coach every 3 years is a program killer. Scalley bleeds red, as long as he's successful he'll be there a long time
