Week of 8.28 Discussion

Lot of chalk
Cubs, Boston and Angels all figure to get there on TUESDAY. I think Houston too but that is more debateable

Toronto 4-12 home vs. LH's, hitting .238 and scoring 3.82 r/9. Toronto current roster .188 vs. Sale in 128 ab.

Yes Tuck, chalky night, hate chaulk, like cubbies and red sox in a parlay, also like stl, col-1, laa and zona

careful with Sale tonight, he has a tendency to wear down as the season progresses and he is on track for his most innings ever, he's been getting hit last few times out, still a stud though....hope farrell starts to give him some extra days

Zona 11-3 vs. LH's at home, hitting .260 scoring 5.64 r/9. Zona 7-6-1 over the total in those games.

Wait did he get a bionic arm?
Very athletic guy, actually used as pinch runner quite a bit lately. I think for him, it has been getting his fastball back to the higher velocity and not relying so much on the breaking pitches. He is kind of renown for getting lit up, when he is hanging the breaking balls. I think there is enough of a velocity difference now with the good fastball that it is helping out his other stuff. Just my opinion from watching him the last 6 or 7 sts.

timmy you have to realize I watched in both utter terror and exuberance him pitch a no-no....the stats from that game were insane. But he was still our guy!

Lol what a game that was 8 walks and 6 ks.

Baltimore 12-7 home vs. LH's, hitting .264 and scoring 5.55 r/9. O's are 10-8-1 over the total in those games.

Zona 12-3 vs. LH's at home, hitting .264 scoring 5.82 r/9. Zona 8-6-1 over the total in those games.

Pittsburgh 5-12 road vs. LH's, hitting .227 and scoring 4.66 r/9. Pirates are 8-9 over in those games.

donaldson and smoak both out of jays lineup tonight....i have no idea why they would sit two guys that both have hit porcello pretty well....happ has had pretty good luck vs sox over his career 5-3 3.66 and really good last few but jays are in a funk, threw the ball all over the yard last night in a 3-0 loss and i'm not sure if any of the runs were earned...lean toward sox, porcello been pretty steady in last 8-9 starts till last time when baltimore clobbered him

I find the Tor/bosox line odd, if Nba fan were around he might concur
Why? There's been slight movement toward Boston but these ARE two teams going in opposite directions. A situational play I like is in play here too, that of betting a decent pitcher coming off an outing in which he was embarrassingly awful. I would normally play this (and still might) but with both Kimbrel & Reed having gone 3 straight & 4 with the Yankees up next I would be amazed if Farrell considered using either tonight. That leaves a pretty big hole in the late innings rotation.

I think your analysis is spot on. So the play is on TOR right? Thats kind of what I was thinking because I thought they could have dogged TOR and I would assume bounceback from porcello, and no smoak or josh,

Twins 11-8 vs. LH's at home, hitting .279 and scoring 5.51 r/9. Holland a train wreck and Berrios very good home splits. Twins scoring 6.55 r/9 over L10.

some wise guys on cws but value i'm sure....tempted to go with kc tt (O) 4.5 -13....odorizzi has been bad for a while.....only got to the 5th once in like 6 starts i think

Estrada sucks on 4. Baltimore looks right.
Greinke is tempting, Arizona simply great on Thursday and Greinke is best on 5
Boston pitcher sucks lean Yanks

rodriguez actually doesn't suck, he has very good stuff but he lacks concentration and it's been a bad inning here and there that has cost him. he also has a tendency to get better as the season wears on but this year he spent time on the dl right in the middle so it's taken him two times to get settled in....he's young but very talented and i personally expect him to be strong as we come to the end of the year and i think he will see time in the post season....i may be nuts but i actually think he has the best stuff behind sale in the sox rotation including price in his current form....regardless your yanks lean has merit as cc always seem to pitch us tough and i have lost more than a little betting against an aging overweight way past his prime pitcher so i tip my hat to the man....probably still play sox tonight....under may be worth a peek but risky

Mets look bad. DeGrow is very good on 5 and in the day. No history with the ref but the ref was not good for home dogs and it was tough looking at games because of the Covers screwup. So it goes. Did take Arizona plus 2 cents. Greinke good history with ref and vEry good on 5. Arizona great on Thursdays but his results not as good in the day.

smoak and donaldson were both out for tor last night and it made for a week lineup, a tor tt under wager and a sox win, they are free swingers and an undisciplined defensive bunch....balt hitting on all cylinders so very tough to go against them right now....donaldson should be back and smoak probable....balt could very easily feast on a poor tor pen

I can not check but my impression is that Sabathia just steps up big if his team is losing. i have no bias and have play Boston a Lot but here its hard. Ump will decide it probably

Yeah, tend to agree, actually like cc, he's a good guy and probably gives best effort, a couple years ago when i thought he was done his velocity was down 89-91, then this year he magically got it back...who knows, yanks scuffling a bit but girardi has a way of righting the ship, sox lack of run production always an issue with me....sox tt under maybe?

Lackey solid numbers with Culbreth, Folty been a train wreck in August. Both pitchers bad over L3, wind blowing hard in from right.

Arizona only 5-11 road vs. LH's, hitting .210 and scoring 2.99 r/9. This ironic and in stark contrast to home vs. LH where thay are now 13-3. Zona red hot though winning 7 straight and 9/10 where they have hit .256 and scored 5.61 r/9. Walker has been hit pretty well by Colorado recent lineup .325 over 83ab and his two most recent efforts at Coors 11.2 ip, 4 er.
