Week 5 What Are We Learning

Is Justin Fields evolving or is he benefiting from facing bad defenses? Methinks the latter. Commanders' secondary does not want to cover anybody!

Pete Carmichael’s seat is scorching hot. They actually threw him to the media yesterday for like 10 minutes. Never seen that.
Patriots sign their old CB back.
I really have no idea what to expect Sunday in Mass

Brock party certainly better NFL QB than Mac...

But yes, systems and talent are key. SF would be a division winner with Mac. Pats are likely not a playoff team with Brock (albeit a few wins better).

Here's a thought. If you put Purdy on New England and Jones on SF are the team records any different? Purdy has been amazing but the talent on that team is extraordinary.

And ..... if you put Dak on SF he would probably be much better - Purdy on Dallas would stink.

Dallas is 3-2 with their wins over the Giants, the Saleh and Hackett comedy hour, and the remains of the Patriots. I think the talk of them being a serious contender needs to end until they beat a legitimate team.

Guys, put on the tape. He is throwing the ball all over the field with incredible accuracy. If any other QB was doing what he was doing through 5 weeks the talk would never stop.

Just because he was a 7th round pick he gets zero credit.

Let‘s look at objective data (scroll to bottom of the image) and not on subjective impressions that might be skewed by personal bias— you are a 49ers fan, aren‘t you?

This doesn’t look very accurate.

He does have good targets and he is in a good system. He also has running backs who defenses have to worry about. That can easily make him look better than he really is.

Are you highlighting random ratings from a fantasy football site? How about completion %, completion percentage for passes over 10 yards, QBR, TD-INT ratio?

Or just watch this one throw from last night and try to marry that data with what you are seeing - https://x.com/Nate_Tice/status/1711443300706902441?s=20
You're relying on superficial data that doesn't distinguish Purdy's individual abilities from those of his teammates. You therefore don't address the point that he's on a great team, which makes him look better than he is.

Ok, even bums make nice individual plays. You're casting aside objective data because it doesn't fit your biased, predetermined narrative.

I wish fans of their teams could use their extra knowledge to be realistic...that would be much more helpful to us all...

We continue to learn that Niners fans are extremely sensitive considering everyone considers them to be the best team in the league.
