Wakefield

[13] Starts vs teams 3 games over .500 or worse
WHIP 1.08, ERA 2.64 - O/U 5-6-2, avg 8.23 runs/game

Boston 5-1 SU at home, 3-4 SU on the road

[9] Starts vs teams 6 games over .500 or better
WHIP 1.41, ERA 5.60 - O/U 4-2-2, avg 10.55 runs/game

Boston 2-2 SU at home, 0-5 SU on the road

Wakefield is 7-1-2 to Over his last 10 starts in which the loser scored more than 1 run (average of 11.30 runs/game), with no games totaling less than 8 runs.

(256-92-25 - 164-77-34)

Baltimore- Will they take 2 out of 3 from the Angels? Will the Angels recover from getting shutut or will they be looking ahead to NYY series? Not too sure what happens here. Would like Balt but not sure I'd be able to take them today, tough call.

Pitt- Jeff Karstens had a great game vs the Cubbies 1st time on his new team. Pitt seems to be hanging around and competing well with this new team. You never know with Johnson picthing for AZ. Pen should be fine with Webb going game if Johnson gets in trouble. Price is Huge for AZ. Prolly gonna make a play on Pitt.

Clev- Sowers record is nothing to brag about at all and Kazmir has been on the ropes lately. TB does stuggle vs lefty's and Sowers has been perfoming a little better lately. Price is steep for TB. Clev has been hanging around lately and wouldn't be surprised if Sowers gets another win.

Minny- Does Seattle pull out the sweep on minny. Minny has been bad on the road. Seattle seems to be doing something right if their winning. Sea has never saw blackburn which is good. Would obviously lean Minny but I get this bad feeling something is up.

CWS- Think the over is the best play with Verlander and Danks. Pens are used up big time yesterday and these two starters could easily give up early runs. 9 is a nice total to work with and lower than yesterdays. I would lean CWS prolly bringing in some momentum. Verlander has faced CWS 4 times and going on #5 now. He is 1-3 in 4 games with a 6.51 ERA. Detroit on a 5 game skid. Better get out the way their falling fast.

It's a battle for who sucks more fat ones in Cincinnati -

Bailey last 6 starts
WHIP 2.31, ERA 8.76

Suppan last 6 starts
WHIP 1.88, ERA 7.31

Bailey last 4 home starts
WHIP 2.59, ERA 9.00

Suppan last 4 road starts
WHIP 1.71, ERA 5.25

Bailey at home vs MIL last 2 seasons - no such starts

Suppan away to CIN last 2 seasons - 17.2 IP for 10 ERs (WHIP 1.13, ERA 5.09)

Incredible stat - Bailey has licked cock basically every home outing this season, yet no start has been an Over result (2 Unders, 2 Pushes). Cincy is 0-7 SU in Homer starts, and opposition teams have scored at least 5 runs in 6 of those games.

Baltimore's last 36 games of offense -

11, 2, 9, 2, 5, 7, 5, 7, 10, 3, 10, 6, 8, 5, 7, 1, 1, 5, 7, 11, 1, 8, 8, 1, 1, 5, 6, 5, 13, 7, 3, 10, 3, 4, 5 & 3 run totals.

_7 totals of 0-2 runs.
_5 totals of 3-4 runs.
24 totals of 5+ runs.

Their current 11 game streak of scoring at least 3 runs matches their previous best (managed twice) this season.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore has gone 60 games without posting consecutive Under results. They are 39-17-4 to Over during this period, and are 14-0-2 to Over off their last 16 Under results. They'll play Wednesday off an Under result on Tuesday.

Since 2006, Balty playing a road game off a shutout win is 5-0 to Under, and 3-2 SU.

TB is 41-11 L52 at home
CLE is 2-8 L10 away vs a LHSP and 4-12 all season away
CLE 0-7 L7 WED
Sowers was the SP when CLE defeated TB @ CLE . Kaz was the TB SP.
Think TB is 11-0 at home vs HSP allowing 3 runs or less and 0-8 allowing 4 or more( check that)
CLE 12-21 in day games / 20=37 away & 21-11 UND
TB is 25-15 in day games/44-17 at home & 25-14 UND
TB is 20-8 at home with 8 or8.5 totals ( and goes WESTafter this game while CLE heads to TOR)
CLE 3-8 in domes 8-3 under

SFG has lost 9 striaght when opposing a LHSP and 10 straight at home vs a LHSP ( think last win vs Oliver Perez)
SD is 12-29 in day games

UNIT last 3 starts allowed 1 run and it was unearned.

Ervin Santana struggles in day games but gets a rematch Garrett Olson ...

Piniero is struggling badly of late allowing a ton of DD hit games including l3 which saw 30 hits in 16 innings. With Lohse on deck could be a good spot for LAD to bounce back...STL pen >>>???

DET ? can I do it to myself again? DET hist LHSP so well and Danks like Floyd slowly regressing . Vertlander huge ???? DET pen is minus Rodney while WS will be w/o Thornton and maybe Carrasaco....plus Vetlander could go 7++ while Danks more a 6 inn guy

Yanks ML

OAK ML fade of Marcum and bounce back while Jays weak vs LHP

Houston interesting if only 1st 5 inn ML:cheers:

Since May 28th, Tampa Bay has not scored 5 or more runs in a loss. This is easily the longest such streak alive in the majors at present. Since that date they have 23 losses:
- 4 in which they've scored 4 runs (4-0 to Over), and
- 19 in which they've scored 3 runs or less (16-3 to Under).

For quite sometime Tampa losses have had a very strong alignment with Under results.

Since July the 6th, the Chicago Cubs are...

- 15-1 SU in games which they score at least 3 runs (12-4 to Over)

- 0-9 SU in games which they score 2 runs or less (8-1 to Under)

Capping a side for their games is as "easy" as simply concerning yourself with how their offense will go.

Personally im on KC tommorow, Red Sox have been on and off and Wakefeild isnt so good on the road.

since Manny left, the RSox have lost 1 game out of 5, which happened to be started by their worst starter. I'd hardly categorise that as "on & off".

your right I dont know why I even said that :36_11_6:

I like KC anyway because of Wakefeild's struggles on the road

Yankees are 14-2 in game 3's after a loss. Only 2 losses coming from Boston, and Detroit. Detroit went 8-2 in their last 10 during that period, so they were on fire. Texas took the first two games from the Yanks at New York in their last series, and they came out in game 3 and put an ass whooping on them 18-7 with Sidney on the mound although he gave up 7 ER. Hunter not impressive in his debut vs Toronto, think Yankees light him up tonight. Yanks ML, maybe RL and probably over even though it's at 12.5 how can you not.

Ponson back at the launchpad. After his early but very brief success for Texas this season, he gave up 15 ERs his last 21.1 IP at Arlington (WHIP 1.92, ERA 6.33), vs hitting teams of dubious quality: Oakland (twice), Houston & Cleveland. If he can deliver that vs those offenses, what can Texas manage (over & above what they managed in NYK against him)?

The problem facing NYK is their negative tendencies vs pitchers they haven't faced before. The things going for this Hunter guy besides that aspect, is he's on home turf, he's gotten 1st-game-nerves out of the way, and the ESPN featured game dog-correction (that I hammered on about in these threads awhile back) is well underway: 4 straight Dog winners their last 4 games.

Good points on the Sox since Manny left BC, but all of those games were in Fenway. They're a different team on the road, and are just 1-1 as a visitor since he's left town.

Also Boston is 6-11 their last 17 road games. Ewwwww

Balt/LAA certainly is intriguing but I think we need to forget about yesterday's game. That certainly was a deviation from the norm for the Os. Maybe the start of something but I wouldn't bet on it. LAA should roll against the lefty today.

St louis used their entire bullpen last night, expect a move today to get some help.. This is a classic Larussa "throw-away" game.. He has an ineffective pitcher on the mound (who will be displaced in the rotation after Wainwright rehab) who will be told to pitch 7 innings not matter how many he gives up. Lohse on deck tommorow.. Sets up perfect for Dodgers and the over IMO.. Not sure where I am going with it but I will be on it in some manner.

i wonder the effect on tampas pen today considering they used a 4 guys yesterday had a very late finish last night and have a 1235 today.. considering its been a while since kazmir has made it through 6 inings

i want to bet the under so bad in tampa with leftie leftie matchup, but at 8 runs and a taxed pen, it's hard. I'm inclined to think that kazmir bounces back and pitches 7 strong while tampa bay drags their feet from fatigue off a late night win... Any other thoughts on this one?

Clev has owned Tampa. Tampa is money at home. Sowers sucks but I can see this as a one run game late. Kazmir needs to have a strong outing for TB to have a chance since they have minimal arms for use. Maybe Clev +1.5? I would probably stay away.

i think if cleveland is patient kazmir will be at a 100 pitches in no time.. depends on the approach they take..

cleveland batters have struck out 19 times out of 54 abs against kazmir..

last time kaz faced cleveland that was the most runs he had given up all year with 5 ... sowers pitched 4 innings giving up 2 runs 7 bb 8 ks.. granted this was at cleveland .. sowerds got lucky as shit

I like this thinking. I was screaming at the TV last night to get Izzy out of there. Had double my normal play on that UNDER 8. 4-0 in the top of the ninth and he fucking blew it. ANyone who gives up a dinger to ANdruw isn't trying.

so when is franklin back as closer? or perez

They are talking about making Wainwright the closer when he finishes rehab, could be next week, as he has experience and has been successful in the role.. Also they are still hoping to get Fuentes if the Rockies give up on their season.. That will be difficult though as he now has to clear waivers and many teams would try to block it..

Amazing stat-- Cards have had the lead in the 7th inning more than any team in baseball..

that is an amazing stat didnt know that... wainwright is the right person to close they cant let these games slip away at this point it is going to be a dog fight for the nl wildcard

As much as I like TB something just smells off here and if the PEN is overworked havent really checked into it but were looking at a guy with terrific stuff who I recently compared to Joba Chamberlain . He has failed to go 6 innings in 7 of 9 and didnt complete 5 last time but threw 11o pitches allowing JUST 3 hits....Cautious on this one...

Looking @ the Reds but absolutely on the OVER . really dont care much about what the total is or the vig because I expect at least 13 runs here and we dont see many 13 totals these days. So we had a 9.5 total with Arroyo and Parra ending on 9 and Volzquez vs Bush ending on a 9 with a 9 total. This one should have opened at 10.5 not 10. All 5 @ Cincy have gone UNDER H2H and Milw is 8-0-1 UND past 9 away. Both teams are struggling vs RHP of late but showing signs of breaking out .

Homer Bailey has been bad but his best start was dealing vs CC @ MILW. Suppan has some pretty bad day splits and often gets bailed out by hhis pen. Suppan 5.49 DAY ERA , 5+ Road ERA after 7 shutout inings vs a depleted Braves team , OUTDOORS his ERA is 6.05 , RHB 322BAA.............

Over RUNS 144.5 as well TODAY...

Yanks ML- I dont see Tommy Hunter falling into the same category as previous RHP who gave NY trouble the 1st time they opposed eachother. Hunter is talented but on the fast track only 22 and drafted in 2007. Jays hit him well and there lineup is nothing compared to NYYs who hit a ton of balls on the screws yesterday right at someone...Rangers pen been worked the past 2 days ...Ponson wants revenge maybe here he gets it ....Plus new faces in the lineup maybe erase the previous RH newness struggles...

BOL:cheers:

AGREE..:shake::cheers:

Probably worth looking at Houston plasy like ML , 1st 5 inn ML and +1.5 RL.

Backe was fairly solid recently vs Chi.

Cubs have been shutout by Karstens and Moehler reently . Think 2-5 past 7 at home vs RHP and 4-6 L10.

Beat Snell and VadenHurk . Lost 3-2 to Johnson and Volstad of FLA.

Lost 4-2 to Lincecum
Won 8-7 vs Corriea (huge late comeback)
Won 3-1 vs Cain
L12 -7 to Arroyo

Think 7-8 L15 at home vs RHP as well

Houston playing better of late as well...seems about time CUBS lost a home series ...

Any thoughts on an under in AZ? Karstens pitched well last time out, but had a high whip of 1.5.... Unit is on fire.. and we got tim timmons behind the dish..

Had a doctors appt was out for awhile .

Shitty start to the day . Guess I cant shake off the 17-18 unit FUCK YOU DET game me yesterday in the b14th. Somewhat suprised the OV @ Cincy didnt hit 6-3 heading into the b6th and I thought the pens would be a huge plus for the offenses. Also small play on Reds +1.5 goes down ...tough game lost a bunch there.

Passed on 1st 5 inn Ov @ TB (keyed it up then canceled) and the Rays ML as well which looked liked shit but they stole it .

Played 1/2 units on Houston ML , 1st 5 inn ML and +1.5 RL. Looks like wasted money although HOUSTON did have a 4-1 lead at one time .....

Over 144.5 Runs ....so far so good on this ....

Couldnt get home in time for the 3:35 and after starts...
Figures LOVED THE Balt over and liked LAA ML. Not sure about the other games as much as I would like to fade SFG vs a LHSP it was also a good spot for them to finally beat one. Out @ Zona liked the over 9 as well.....who knows...

4:40 :
Really hard for me to like Minny here even in a nice spot as this game looks pretty tight to the bullpens get involved which Twins still have the edge in . Especially now that Morrow was sen down and trying to get to stretched out to be come a SP. Both SP have solid work in day games. Blackburn never faced SEA and is best on his normal turn which he is here . Beltre 184 4hr 9 rbi in day games hits cleanup. Mauer and Young sit for Minny . Washburn some solid starts vs Minny last year and throughout his career.

Looking at 1st 5 inn UNDER in a series marked with alot of big innings . Think Washburn was due for a bad start after not being traded. He was toeing the line and with 2 outs in the 5th fell apart allowing 8 runs I believe in what was a 1 or 2-0 game....Hard to take a game under though and really not interested in Twins @ -140 or so ...

Hi SN,

Nice to see you are dropping by once in awhile as you were one of the reasons I joined up. There is a lot of good information being tossed around and people are more focused here trying to help each other. You mentioned how lights out Randy Johnson has been lately and I would like to add something for your records about his run support. He gets very little or NO help in the 2nd half of his games as I went over ALL his starts prior to the Chi/Harden match up in Ariz. Wanted to play him at HD, but if he falls behind the team had Never pulled a game out for him, but instead blew the his win vs Zito at Arizona. He is losing right now 2-0 and I am going to go out on a limb and say Arizona will lose the game. Ari did rally in SF the other day in the 6th, which was very unusual. This fewwlow has alwasy gotten poor run support at times and it isn't good for your health to remember it AFTER the game is going!:smiley_acbe:

My best wishes to all on here and lets ALL have a Great Second Half!!!

Yankees $900 to win $620
Dodgers $175 to win $125
Tigers $175 to win $162

RL Parlay Dodgers/Yankees $70 to win $240

I think im going to pull a big no-no and bet on Gio Gonzalez's MLB debut. Marcum has been wacked out of his form since returning. I see an extra offensive effort after yesterday's sputter with bases loaded, no outs... Unfortunately, i don't know who's going to close for the A's, but this price seems short.

i see no real value in that OAK line.. if it was over +150 maybe.. other than that it would be a small play unless theres a great angle and i cant find one.. however hope you hit it no play for me

Gonzalez strikes out guy at over a 5:4/ip ratio... He is the centerpiece of the Haren trade too. I think he gives a good effort. He is not a newbie, he has been pitching in the minors for 4 years now..

The A's are a team that should be faded till seasons end, their pitching is starting to feel the pressure of an offense that is horrible, a new pitcher on the hill tonight & the guy knows he has to hold the other team to no more than 3 runs or he loses, very tough task for any starters on this team let alone a 1st time starter.

rumour has it that the entire A's team is thinking of defecting to Yag porn, they're being offered that much more money because of their supreme cocksucking skills

Pedroia gets a day off.

NO. BOSTON

i love the over in the st. louis game tonight... lowe blows on the road, giving up over .300 and Tdub already put the lowdown on the cardinals. We also have guccione behind the dish... servin the overs lately..

I'm sorry, but the A's offense in the current state is a complete fuckjob. What kind of team goes back to the dugout empty handed with bases loaded and no outs?

Dating back to July 13th the A's are 2-16 going into tonight. FADE THE FUCKERS & GET THE $$$$$$. I started fading them about 2.5 weeks ago when BC mentioned the state of the pitching staff, just bet who ever they are playing & go to bed, no worries.

unfortunately... theyve thrown in the towel... also unfortunately, i am an A's fan since i am from the bay area and have watched them since the Eckersley era... it really is a sad thing to see them sputtering so badly.

yea that's why I said earlier it would be hard for me to bet on them unless I was getting plus money for a good price..for some reason I laid off marcum tonight and am kickin myself for it..we'll have to keep an eye on this team I am very shocked at their offensive performance though I remember a few years back they went on that crazy run with roughly the same line up..
