Bannister at this price is ridiculous, better pen for KC. Kenny laying -200, sure he's on the Tigers but this is ridiculous. It's basically the same price of Verlander and Meche. I wonder if I can actually wait on this and get better value, but the value is there. Bannister has pitched well vs the Tigers on top of that.
 
Is 4:05 considered the day? Carmona during the day was sick last yr.

I don't like Lester, lean to Harden, hopefully the 1st start was a sign of things to come. No doubt he has great stuff, just a matter of if his body can hold up.

I dont know etg, are you assuming that the Tigers are good for 4/5 runs? Bannister in 3 starts vs the tigers last year went 4.2, 6, and 7. I'm also a fan of the KC bullpen and it depends on the score going into those late innings because they've got arms that can shut it down the last 2/3. But if I had to choose I'd go over, tigers pen is awful.
 
- Pit/Atlanta Under seems like a sneaky play as I think people have high hopes for Jurrjens.

- Slight lean to the D-backs as a prefer Haren to Arroyo.

- Marlins +155 with the highly touted Miller going. He had all kinds of hype in Detroit and that it seemingly disappeared. Perez is too inconsistent for my tastes.

- Bannister +170 please.

- Toronto/NYY Over as Mussina is a shadow of what he used to be. Trouble here is trying to figure out if Burnett will be a gas can or unhittable.

- D-Rays/Orioles UNDER 9.5 seems solid to me as well.

- Also like Jennings +150 - not sure who Silva is to lay that price.

No I'm more assuming that Rodgers gets lit up. Then the Detroit bullpen on top of things for a few runs. Maybe they get a few runs off Bannister but not much. I was thinking Royals come away with this one like 8-4. Prob better off sticking to just the Royals. I can not believe this price quite frankly. I hope its a sign of things to come because I am very down on their pitching. Sorry Michigan guys.

I;ve never seen Blackburn pitch but from his stats looks like he has good control, Doesn't strike many out so he gets outs when the ball is in play. Maybe a sinker ball pitcher? Anyone know?

Repertoire: 4-Seam Fastball, Curveball, Slider, 2-Seam Fastball, Changeup

Fastballs.Blackburn does not have overpowering stuff, despite the fact that he looks like a power pitcher when he on the mound. His fastball usually sits in the 88-89 miles per hour range, occasionally topping out a 91. He uses both of his fastballs to get hitters off balance, before he unleashes one of his several breaking balls. His fastball can be deceptive though, as he stands 6'4'’, and it appears to get on the batters faster than the miles per hour would indicate.
Other Pitches. Blackburn uses a wide arsenal of pitches to fool hitters into believing his fastball is faster than it really is. He throws a nice looping curveball, and a tight slider, that definitely make up for his lack of velocity on his heater. He also can spot his changeup in there whenever he wants, as he is able to give batters five solid pitches to look at. When he is on, he is able to locate any one of those pitches for strikes, and it is in those times when he is almost unhittable.
Pitching.Blackburn is a pretty complete pitcher, in that he is able to spot all of his pitches for strikes. He has been used as a starter, and as a reliever, so he is able to pitch well in any spot of a ballgame. He has even picked up a save or two during his minor league career, and continues to impress scouts with his poise on the mound.
Projection. While he is currently working exclusively as a starting pitcher, Blackburn may turn out to be a long reliever if he makes it to the Major Leagues. He has a Ramiro Mendoza-type arsenal, and has the ability to work well in any situation. He does have the stamina to be a starting pitcher, and because he does not throw so hard, will be able to have nice longevity to his career.

Heard he has gotten some velocity back in spring this year ... just lost too much last year and got banged around a little. a couple years ago i just made a fortune picking my spots with this guy .... because of his awful stint with the stros last year people tend to forget he was the rockies ace before leaving town. His numbers have to be taken with a grain of salt too ... poor guy had to pitch in coors ( pre-humidifier ) and then the stros park and now the rangers park ... he must be drooling to pitch in a park like seattles. Agree Silva has no business laying this number and jennings is one of the pitchers i circled this year as a "value" guy that most people will have either forgotten about ( how good he was prior to last year ) pr written off. i will be on him tomoorow.

i like arroyo tomorrow a little but need to check a few more things first..... also worried that they havent really seen harens stuff yet .. usually a big edge for the pitcher when changing leagues. haren also starts strong in april and he has control ... but the guy also did not post wins on the road at the end of last year and his stats have to be taken with a grain of salt ... look at the stadiums he played in last year ... lots and lots of pitcher parks starts ... stadium tommorrow the ball jumps off the bat ... still looking at this one.

lean bannister and vazuez too from value standpoints ....

like harden at -125 or better but not laying 35 cents when the lineup disparaties are that huge.

Jennings had surgery for a torn flexor tendon.

did not effect him in spring where he had an era just over 2 ... 2.1something. he is going to be a cash cow this year.
 
Agree hile and thats w/o even ctg...Rays are in baseball mode and feeling good about themselves while same cant be said about the o's...smells bad in B'town already...when will pinny wise up and stop calling the Rays the devil rays ?

Gorzelanny 1st5 -- I don't want my money riding on PIT's BP. I am a fan of Gorzo, and I think he gets the job done tomorrow.

SD 1st5 and/or full game -- I hate the high price! Wandy on the road and my favorite baseball player of all-time on the bump for SD.
 
Day starts...

While the price is crazy its not high @ Det. Lets face it the Royals were real lucky to win that game. Here's the keys IMO. First dont look at Rogers starts from last year because he wasnt even close to 100%. Not saying he is now but when a guy misses months then gets hurt again you cant weigh that stuff much. What I do know is Rogers has always been extremely tough in his home parks and recently vs LHB. Which KC has Teahen , Gordon , Gathright playing for DeJesus and Gload. Grudz owns him and Butler is gonna hit everyone especially LHs. Buck and Pena havent done much in a few abs vs him and wouldnt expect muhc from them. Thats leave Jose Guillen who hit about 150 this spring with all that steroid shit hanging over him. HGH whatever it was. he ws 0-5 with 2Ks on Monday. He killed LHP last year but struggled the prebious 2 seasons. So who knows where he is at. Behind the plate Meriweather is a strong under ump with high totals past 2 years ...set at 10 or higher 9-2 UNDER and at 9.5 runs 9-4 UNDER. Bannister was solid last year vs DET and Granderson his nemesis is out. Rogers is tough on LHB and two RH will be key in Butler and Grudz. Seems like an UNDER to m especially at 9.5. KC lost Emil Brown and Sweeney 2 of here best hitters vs LHP. KC has 5 guys hitting above 300 last year in day games and 3 struggling with Guillen a work in progress..New Tigers are above 360 in day games last year plus another 4 or so holdovers..Tigers are 16-5 Rogers L 21 at home. Kenny is 10-3 , 7-1 and 7-3 at home in 2004 to 2006. His splits hve LHB at about 200 and he pitchers better in day starts by a mile..Rogers also always tends to strat quick..with ERAs round 2.70 in 05 and 06..14-6 L5 years in April...KC staff was solid with a 4.23 ERA in day games and so was Bannister. Todd Jones was alsovery sharp in day games....

Thinking UNDER 9.5 and leaning DET possibly -1.5 RL...

Suppan had 5 + ERAs past years away and above 5 in the day games as well. He pitched well @ Wrigley but LHB are above 300 past 2 years off him. Enter Fukudome and Pie in the mix. Lilly in day starts 8-3 3.03 ERA and leww then 1WHIP. Marmol and Wuertz had sick day splits..

Thinking Cubbies and depending on total possible over as Suppan could get hit hard...

Really not much thought . Lester was inconsistent in Japan and hrdn was super....ean OAK....
 
When the cubs signed Lilly everybody was saying that cubs had overpaid for him. he goes on to have the season of last year and everybody is wanting to pat him on the back. does he regress back to the real ted lilly or keep pitching like he did last year? thats my concern with him.

Milwaukee's ability to crush lefties will do more than test him and begin to answer my question i have of him. :popcorn:

When i think of this cubs team and everybody's expectations they have of them i just keep thinking back to that 2004 team that everybody was so high on coming off of that magic 2003 season they had and the wheels falling off.

White sox camp admitted to caving in last year and lot of talking of a moral victory after coming back on last year's Cy Young winner. The key play in that game was Crede being called out at home when he was safe and Cleveland getting a surge in momentum and taking it home in the bottom of the inning on Blakes rope.

The moral victory shit makes me sick. Hopefully, we continue to play. i have high expectations of this team ... 87 of em.

yeah i rode his nuts for some time last year....but i can easily see this being like 7-2 rays-ish type of score...and the juice is low enough to make tampa worth while

keep in mind that Jurrjens hasnt pitched above AA............Say what you want about Pgh but they have hitters and Gorzolanny is the better pitcher at this point.....
