Wednesday Discussion Thread

Burnes, Rodriguez, Pfaadt (I know they want to develop him as mid rotation guy and not #5)

It’s right up there with the best of gallen that dude and pfaadt develops. Doesn’t much matter what order. I’d take Kelly over Rodriguez in most matchups. I’d take Kelly over most of them honestly defending on matchup.

He's just getting up there in age and likely will be on innings/pitch count most of the season

Fucking doyers trying to give this game away. 5 unearned runs. You down 2 so why is comforto fat ass trying to make 3rd? If they were down 1 I guess other than fact he got thrown out by 2-3 seconds! If you gonna try taking that base maybe you should be doing a little cardio!

Ain’t that a bitch. I hit a 3 team nba prop parlay but only bet 15 bucks on it. Lol. Thought I did a few nba ones but that only one I see

This the best I’ve seen gallen pitch in a long time! Hope he back! He was one my fav pitchers to play props on going back when I 1st started playing them. Remember we made a killing with him and Kelly out props in playoffs! Dumb ass books kept putting them at like 15 ours, a few 14.5s, eventually got “smart” and raised them up to like 15.5, think they cashed every time!!!
I remember those were some of my first "out" plays every.

I remember the exact spot I was in for my first Gallen outs "over"!

Nobody ever tries to move runners over. It pisses me off about as much as anything in sports!! I’d guess if any team was gonna do it tigers be on short list of teams I could def see trying so it possible they attempted and didn’t work? I dunno tho. If anyone would know it probably be @B.A.R.
Yeah man one thing with AJ is he's won them some extra games in his tenure. I'd say 7-8 extra last year.

Tigers will manufacturer a run.

They are supposedly really starting more defensive lineups to start the year in order to weather this month.

So, granted I was working, but in the 9th...

Bases jacked and 1 out --

Javy up. Ruhroe.

He has 2-0 count. While I'm glad he decided (or they told him) to take pitches.... There was one right down Main Street!

Obviously the force out at home there. Unfortunate. I only saw the end of that play.

Mckinistry at bat was awful.

Bad loss today.

I just started with them that season I believe. It blew my mind they were lining him and Kelly around 14.5-15.5, like they were gonna get yanked early! 1st off snakes woulda been toast had they needed 4 innings of pen, those guys were nails down the stretch, their out totals were 17.5 w juice ur 18.5, all a sudden in playoffs the genius books make them only needing 5 innings to cash. Like the total opposite of reality!! I get a manager will have quick hook on his 4th starter, he had to get 6+ to have a chance w those guys. Even wheeler and Nola outs were cheap for them! I cleaned up those playoffs!

One The few things that worked out for me cause all I had was skubby do over k’s! Seattle offense is awful but it not like they easy to beat. Between starters and pen they easily have a top 5 rotation in the league. They just can’t hit a beach ball!

Right!

I'm still shocked Scooby K's hit.

I missed the 3rd and 4th innings. I knew he had 2 strikeouts after 2 innings.

I saw him leaving the game at 17 outs and thought not a chance!

Was pretty happy to see that cash.

So long cardinals, my new fav team is the dodgers! By the weekend I’ll be rocking a Ohtani jersey and the blue la hat! It will bring my eyes out way better than cardinals red anyways!

Yes this is exactly how for sale my fandom and loyalty is!!

Imma go old school and get a Detroit Tigers thread going. You all had to live through them for many years during that era of great baseball.

They're back!

I remember the fat fuck cecil fielder and John deer blasting bombs while barely hitting .200, they were ahead their time!

Haha man.

Rob Deer was something. Talk about old school!

The other guy on that team I remember so well for power and strikeouts was Mickey Tettleton.

He had one of those batting stances we loved to imitate growing up.

You know... him, Julio Franco and others were great to try and imitate as youngsters

I recall that prick Jack Morris pitching a incredible game 7
Jack was a helluva pitcher man.

He won WS with 3 teams!!

Detroit in the magical 1984 season.

Minnesota in 1991 (Game 7)

Toronto in 92 and 93 gave him 4 rings overall.

I will say, he is one of the DRIEST color commentators I've heard. Eh. Knowledge but so boring.

You barely remember Ken Griffey (jr!!)
While we are going down memory lane...

Tiger Stadium closed at the end of the 1999 season.

The final game I went to was vs Seattle in July of that year. We sat out in left field with only a few other people.

I was sitting right around where I put those dots in first row.

Anyways... Griffey hits an opposite field HR that lands around 10 feet right of us. The ball bounces a few times and someone pops in from the concourse and grabs it! I wanted that man!

It’s not that I want to do jf. I been on here last 5 years saying exactly what was gonna happen to our once proud franchise! Nobody cared what I had to say, nobody ruining the team anyways! Now our stadium looks like the god damn marlins. It’s embarrassing. Plus my eyes will really look good in that dodgers blue!!! lol, I’ve got gear from pretty much every team in every sport. Baseball is the only sport I’ve never rocked anything but cards, well I have a Jordan white Sox jersey but that a little different!! I could handle some bad seasons but watching them do exactly what I said would happen and not caring has lead to a freaking embarrassment! I stick around during some lean years in 90s but the organization still had pride Now it a fucjing bad joke! Tell them to call me after they sell team and clean house!

If arenado wasn’t a loser he would have been traded but he rather stay here where he don’t get booed and no expectations. Cardinals slashing everything cept beer and ticket prices. Acting like a bottom 10 revenue team, I don’t even know how to watch them if I wanted to! They must have got a sweet tv deal!! Lol

Bondy!

Man, I feel like he was just 10% off from being a really good pitcher.

2006 was his best year. That was the WS loss to STL season.

Only WS game i went to was gm5 to close tigers out!! Been to a bunch of fantastic nlcs games but this was my WS moment. It was fun and all but it was very anticlimactic as it was a foregone conclusion we were winning that series. Still nice to be there for the close out game. I’d have went to 6 and 7 against rangers but I had just got out of prison that August so my money wasn’t up for all that! Watched at bar down the street. Saw the nlcs against Stros when Albert went yard to send to game 7, then of course had to go bash for gm7 even tho kinda like rangers WS gm7 felt like foregone conclusion. The Astros year was the year before beating tigers and our pitching was lacking, we had no chance of beating Red Sox after they just beat Yanks 4 in a row. It was already 2-0 when they came to stl and I wasn’t paying to watch the Red Sox correlation party which they ended to sweeping! No chance I was shelling out 1-2k for ticket plus bringing my brother for that. Lol

Great memories bud.

My only WS game, EVER, was game #2 in 2006. The only Tigers win! That was the Kenny Rogers game. Temp was 35° or so -- breezy and sleet. I gave the commemorative blanket to my dad after we used to that entire game to not freeze!

I still blame that long ass layoff before the series for the Tigers terrible showing. The defense was awful too.

I told you this was coming 5 years ago when we were still making playoffs, nobody wanted to hear me then. Now the fix is so far down the road, they coulda had it fixed by now! I’d been perfectly happy with a few years of young team growing together but instead they kept trying to fix holes with duct tape! Now I see no real answer other than pulling the Houston model when they lost 100 games for 4-5 years!!! Clearly they not even considering using money to fix it as they turning into one these shit bag teams like pirates or A’s who try to pocket their welfare checks instead of spending above that! Stl might be a smaller market but cards controlled a huge area into ark, Mississippi, bama, up to Iowa and half of Illinois so it a joke they trying to pretend they a snake market club! They sold over 3 mil seats for god knows how long. Anyways I have been going on about this for years; just cause it happening now brings me no joy!!!

I felt like it was cards reward for handing Sox the curse breaker! Lol.

I think I’ve been to more opening days that were redic cold than late postseason. Don’t get me wrong gm 5 wasn’t great but I preferred cold back then, now I be acting like a little bitch in the 40s! Lol
