I love the Lakers, especially if they get beat up heavily by the Thunder tonight.

That Lakers line is ridiculous. No way that should be under 4. Has me scratching my head. And looking like they are getting smashed at OKC.

Sixers playing 4th in 5 nights with home then away then home then away. But Atlantas first game back from out west. I don't see how the sixers compete though after what I saw tonight.

Brooklyn off of two losses and this team plays well against shitty teams. Lean nets

Think I'm gonna take heat 4th quarter every home game the rest of the season. The team just turns it up a notch to close out games

The bulls cannot keep up with the spurs offensively. Not a chance.

Idk why I like soooo many favorites tomorrow

Conspiracy theory. Utah by far the dullest of the playoff contenders. Stern wants Lakers in the playoffs. How bad can fading Utah at Cleveland be. Granted a line would be nice but Utah had a won game at Bucks and blew it.

Did Bulls cover at Indiana because they played well or because of a Indiana look ahead to triple revenge vs Celtic?

Just noticed Lakers did not make a basket or shot a free throw last 6 minutes and 13 seconds of the game. What happened?

CC comedians:hello:. Did Kobe leave at this time in the 4th with an elbow injury and how bad is it?

Interesting scheduling effects for Indiana.

First 45 games were heavy on the road fixtures (26, 57.7%). During said period they only had 1 instance of playing more than 2 consecutive home games. Results suggest this didn't allow them to find their absolute best offensive groove re home cooking: avg of 94.89 ppg & a +7.74 pts differential (ATS 11-8, 57.8% win rate ... O/U 7-12)

But of their last 15 games, 12 have been at home (80%) and so what do we find? Their off. avg there has been a rather impressive 103.58 ppg (with a +12.00 pts differential), and naturally therefore their ATS results have improved as well (8-4, 66.6% win rate - 3 of those losses SU, only SU win/ATS failure by 1 bucket ... O/U 8-4).

Boston's SU losses on the road this season playing the 2nd of B2B road games, have been by 14, 15 & 22 pt margins (they have 1 win in this spot: 110-107 vs Utah. Not in a million years does Indiana concede 110 pts in this spot to the Celts Off.)

Philadelphia on the road b-b sure
Boston b-b at Indiana when they are looking at Atlanta at home. Sure
Bucks at Clippers after their game vs OKC. Maybe first half bet there because they might want to rest second half for Denver.
No 2 days rest 8-1 ATS and they have 2 days off after Denver.
Tremendous chalk.

Also something to watch out for re Boston. This will be the 10th straight time they'll have had to travel from one venue to another for a game, and will have 3 more instances of that after this Indiana fixture before they get their first instances of consecutive home games in over a month (7th & 10th Feb. -> 13th & 16th Mar.).

Straight bets so far on Indiana and Spurs. Agree I was wrong on Indiana vs Bulls but do think the reason was Indiana look ahead to triple revenge vs Boston. Bulls have covered 3 in a row a season high. Their next game is at home on their BEST day of the week Friday against a team they have really been dominant over Utah. Spurs spreads have been nuts last 2 games and think they continue that way with the 7.5. Next real challenge will be at home vs OKC. Think they have every intention of leaving no doubt with these next 2 games. Would say that Indiana might actually be better than Spurs. Indiana this season playing off an ATS loss at home is 10-2 ATS and add to this triple revenge--!! Fire engines.

Golden State with a fairly significant look ahead to Houston, IMO...

Wouldn't class Indy having 'triple revenge', I'd say what happened in 2012 (a non-playoff scenario) is all but a distant memory. Do believe there is some 'payback' on their minds given the scoreline for this season's previous meeting.

Do also think the books are inflating the C's on the 2nd leg of B2B's currently given there 'too old' handle in the minds of many bettors...

Did Bulls cover at Indiana because they played well or because of a Indiana look ahead to triple revenge vs Celtic?

Think Granger going out messed with their mojo a little. They had just pretty much reintegrated him back into the line-up after playing so well without him, made the adjustments with their sets/mentally, then he goes out for an indefinite amount of time. Now they have to readjust to life without him again...

Boston and Pacers have about 99% to meet in this year's first round of the playoffs. I think both teams, especially the Pacers will take this game seriously...

Boston's last 38 games, the SU winner has only lost ATS 4 times (11.6% rate). Failed (winning) covers on those 4 occasions were by 1 pt (-2.5 line), 1 pt (-11.5 line), 2 pts (-8.5 line) & 2 pts (-9 line).

Charlotte falls to BC's angle:

vs Conf teams as a Dog ...............................
13-20-2

GSW falls to BC's angle:
West - 2nd game back @Home as a Fav vs Conf Teams: 37-69-4

Atlanta falls to BC's angle:
As the Fav .................................... 40-64-1

Oklahoma City tied the nba record of fewest turnovers in a game last night, with 2. Thunder had one turnover with 6 minutes to go. The lakers suck.

Atlanta playing off a loss If they win 12-2-1 ATS. Philadelphia playing b-b worst 5 in 7. BC's Chart like everything else in the NBA is just 1 indicater. You always look at the whole situation. Atlanta like Golden State earlier is seriously upset after 3 consecutive losses.
Orlando got Nelson back last game. That is an edge. Enough? Currently doubt it. After their last 4 wins Orlando results
Most recent first
Lose to Kings as a 1.5 fav by 24 points
2.5 home dog at Atlanta lose by 32 points
6.5 fav to Bobcats lose by 6 points
1.5 dog at Washington lose by 29 points
Go back a long time and playing away after a 4 game win streak they lost by 3 covering a 3.5 spread at Toronto.
See the game at Miami as interesting but unclear but lean Miami

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Los Angeles Lakers might have been able to forget about their loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder as soon as they boarded the plane to fly to New Orleans for a back-to-back Wednesday, but it will be a little harder for their bodies to forget what happened.

Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard and Metta World Peace all sustained a physical setback in L.A.'s 122-105 loss Tuesday, but all plan to play against the Hornets.

Bryant suffered an ulnar nerve contusion -- reaggravating a funny bone injury he has been dealing with for most of the season -- in the first quarter and had to leave the court to receive treatment, before returning to score 30 points on 8-for-19 shooting.

"I just got popped on a nerve," Bryant said. "That's the exact reason why I wear the sleeve is to protect that thing, and I just got popped right on that button."

Bryant initially seemed to hurt the elbow while catching a pass from Steve Nash and had it flare up several other times throughout the game while driving to the lane or getting his arms tangled up with Kendrick Perkins as they jockeyed for a rebound.

"Every time you try to bend your elbow extended with a little resistance, it's a lot of pain," Bryant said.

Bryant was able to keep up his high scoring streak, topping 30 points for the fifth time in the past six games, but his efficiency dropped, as he shot just 42.1 percent when he had gone in shooting better than 56 percent over his previous five games.

"You got to adjust your shooting mechanics, and I wasn't able to hold my follow-through too much, but you just got to adjust to it and go from there," Bryant said.

He missed only a couple of minutes of game time, checking out with 8:40 to go in the first and returning with 4:01 remaining, so it's no surprise Bryant will be back in uniform going forward.

"This is a critical part of the season to say the least, so I'm going to play," Bryant said.

Howard also got hurt in the first quarter, needing the team to call timeout when he reaggravated the torn labrum in his right shoulder that has caused him to miss six games already this season.

"It was bugging me the whole game," Howard said.

What also had to bug him was the way the injury happened, as he collided with a teammate by mistake.

"Metta was trying to run through and I was trying to run back and as he was turning around, his momentum pulled my arm all the way back [across my body], and it's been bugging me since," Howard said. "I just played through it as much as I can and I try not to worry about it."

The All-Star center said this aggravation wasn't like the previous two he had that caused him to miss games, however.

"It was different," Howard said. "The last ones were me going up, but this one just came across my body so it was a different kind of hit. But I'm just in a lot of pain."

After World Peace unintentionally hurt Howard early, he unintentionally hurt himself late. World Peace saw his 10 fourth-quarter points go to waste when he stepped on an opponent's foot in the final minutes and had to exit the game because of his rolled right ankle with 2:24 remaining and the Lakers trailing by nine.

"I did the 'Harlem Shake,' then I twisted my ankle," World Peace joked after the game as his feet and ankles rested in an ice bath. "But it will be OK."

World Peace underwent an X-ray on his right ankle after the game, and it came back inconclusive. He will have further tests Wednesday in New Orleans, even though he said he planned to play.

"It didn't say nothing," World Peace said of the X-ray. "It's probably just sore."

World Peace seemed shocked to hear that he was the cause of Howard's pain but was confident he and his teammates would conquer their various maladies.

"Oh, that sucks," World Peace said when informed of the pain in Howard's shoulder. "He's OK? I didn't see him since it happened, but we should be OK, though."

Previous 3 road games at
Denver they got 10 TO
Dallas 12
Miami 11
Would assume the early injuries had a lot to do with that
Parlayed Atlanta ML with Nets minus 7

Lakers 4U...love the spot..they have the eye of tiger and i really like how they responded yesterday after getting duked in the 1st half

Lakers only shot themselves in the face for the season with that wasted effort in the 2h. Banged up Dwight, Kobe, Artest and Nash on back end of back to back. Versus solid Hornets squad rested off an embarrassing loss. Fast guards who can finish at the rim destroy the Hornets... This is a pretty good matchup for them.

Lakers 4U...love the spot..they have the eye of tiger and i really like how they responded yesterday after getting duked in the 1st half

40 FT attempts for LAL made it a lot closer than it was, Artest was hitting B2B 3's yet they still lost by 17. Winning one quarter and giving up 122 points in a pretty much 'must win' game does not say 'Eye of the Tiger' to me...

My logic is very simple. One team in a must win position, the other finished this season and plays accordingly.
LAL worked very hard to get back to 500% and lost the game that they knew that they will probably lose that one and win this one.
Lakers are the better team as both teams records, rosters and history easily points out.
Lakers also do very well playing B2B when both games on the road. They actually are perfect in second legg, off a loss in the first leg.

Anything can happen always in the NBA of course, but Lakers will win in such spot in 95 out of 100 games.

coming off a game they knew they would probably lose, howard and nash played like shit, kobe is still playing well even if injured. they made a game out of it but they had a feeling they would lose that one

if the lakers do not win this game..they know they will not make the playoffs..plain and simple..must win!

New Orleans covers tonight's spread in tonight's specific game somewhere between 60 and 70% of the time.

I don't know how you figured that. Lakers are the better team, with the better record and with the motivation.
5% is the most chance that Hornets can get in such a game, but who knows, you might get lucky...

First - I’m sorry for being so dramatic these last few days. I promise no more talk about not posting, posting, this, that... just going to play it straight the rest of the season. jng is right, that you have to ride through the bad weeks, and it is not a reason to stop. Mainly, I just really liked that he used the word “specious.” That was cool. I did a cap of myself earlier today, and my results said that based on past performances, I should be able to turn this around. Either way, I do this for fun and I think I will be able to end the year + money, which is always a good thing. I need to not take myself so seriously...sometimes
smile.gif

I like this game too much, and while my analysis and predictions may not always be correct, I’m trying to learn from each game, and improve myself with each year. Can’t improve if you are not willing to lose. On to the substance...

Hornets

The Hornets just got beat at home by the second worst team in the league, and now they are playing against a team on a mission. This line seems super short, even with the Lakers on a back to back. The Lakers are coming off a game where they committed 16 turnovers to the Thunder’s 2. Teams coming off a game where they committed 12+ turnovers more than their opponent are 13-32 SU and ATS (average line +2.8) when the game is on the road and their opponent is coming off a loss. Honestly don't have a lot of trends/stats to back up this play, but just watching the Lakers tells me what I need to know. They just have no hustle in them, and their defense is absolutely horrible. Nash can’t guard anything that moves. Despite his obviously hurting elbow, Kobe played more minutes than any other Laker in the game last night. Their 8 man rotation is forced to play a lot of big minutes, and at this time of year in a back to back, it can really hurt them.

If you watched the game last night, you saw the Lakers continually get slaughtered by the Thunder’s pick and roll. They do not defend this play well, and the Hornets are one of the teams that depend on this play the most - in fact, they get over 25% of their points per game from the pick and roll, and they are 9th in the league at running it efficiently (just after the Thunder). The Hornets have struggled defensively this year, but they always seem to play a lot better in the big games, and especially when they are a dog. Tonight they have a chance to put a real hurt on the Lakers, and they are going to get up for this game huge, and come out with the win.

Nets

Since the 2005 season, teams playing at home as a dog after a 5 or more game road trip are 38-56-2 ATS. The Nets need this win badly. At this point in the season, it is no longer - can you beat the Bobcats? But, how much can you beat the Bobcats by? Teams coming off a west coast game that are playing as a home dog are 13-25 ATS since the 2003 season. This is a great matchup for the Nets. Just like they destroyed Orlando four times this year, I expect they will destroy the Bobcats tonight. They are 5-0 SU (+10.2) and 4-0-1 ATS in the last five meetings. I think they will win this by 20 or more.

Utah

Since the 2006 season, teams playing at home when the line is between -3.5 and 3.5 are 58-92 SU and 53-96-1 ATS (average line 0) when their opponent averages a win percentage at least 3 points higher, and their opponent is coming off a loss of less than 7. Since the 2002 season, teams playing at home when the line is between -3.5 and 3.5 are 50-81 SU and 47-83-1 ATS (average line -0.2) when they have given up over 100 points to their last two opponents, and their opponent is coming off a loss of less than 7. The Cavaliers cannot play defense, and they don’t match up well against the Jazz. The Jazz are 5-0 (+12.2 ppg) SU and ATS against the Cavs since the King left town.

After an overtime loss against the Bucks, the Jazz have entered desperation mode, and they should play like it tonight. I don't particularly like their team, but they are better from top to bottom than the Cavaliers, and tonight I think they will come out strong. The Cavs have been playing well, which is why these lines are not super big right now, but tonight I think it should be a one-sided game.

Spurs

Teams playing at home as a favorite between 3 and 10 points are 70-16 SU (+9 ppg) and 52-30-4 ATS when they beat a team on the road already in the same season, and their opponent is coming off a loss as a dog where they covered the spread, since the 2006 season. Since the 2003 season, teams playing as a home favorite are 35-4 ATS (+13.1 ppg) and 24-15 ATS when they are coming off two home victories of 20+ points. The Spurs are just rolling right now, and while the Bulls play tough every game, they are beleaguered by injuries that are going to catch up to them at this time of year. The worst injury for them tonight is Hinrich. Like him or not, the Bulls are better with him on the court. His net rating this season is +4.2, which is second best on the team. When he is not on the floor, the Bulls net rating is -1.0. Almost all of the Bulls’ significant players shoot better from the field when he is on the floor. This year, the Bulls are 29-15 with Hinrich, and 5-11 without him.

Utah -1 x2
Nets -8
Hornets +2
Spurs -8

Good luck...

I don't know how you figured that. Lakers are the better team, with the better record and with the motivation.
5% is the most chance that Hornets can get in such a game, but who knows, you might get lucky...
