Good Luck.

Gallaraga in day games is money...bout the only thing catching my interest... The problem is, they leave him in too long till something finally goes wrong... 1st 5?

You know i agree with you there, true. Love detroit today, and yes his day splits are excellent

While they did haeva problem in the past with leaving him in too long, youre right... I dont think that will be an issue today only because the pen is extremely rested and actually throwing well right now.
We rememeber how bad they were last year.... and why theyd leave armando in so long, lol.:hang:

Day Games:

WSox @ Det :

Contreras L7 starts vs Det has ended with Tigers scoring at least 5 runs . Really the lone solid start was the only one he didnt allow 5 runs either where he allowed 4 and another where he allowed 5 in 7 innings he did pitch well in.

Jose Contreras (R) Previous Starts vs. Detroit

In Jose's 1st start the issue was getting LHB out allowing 6 hits to lefties to just 1 vs RH.

Galarraga has suprisingly never faced the WSox despite being in their division and has been a BEAST in day games! 2.69 ERA 1.10 WHIP and .218 BAA and last weeks Texas start was a day game vs his old organization. Last season he was DEATH on RH with an 0.93 WHIP and .174 BAA which is good when facing WSOX because Quentin , Konerko , Dye , Fields ...etc..194 career inns now and .178 BAA & 0.96 WHIP vs RHs.....<TABLE cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=1 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR class=bg2 vAlign=center align=right height=15><TD align=left>5 Days Rest</TD><TD align=right>8</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD align=right>2.98</TD><TD align=right>15</TD><TD align=right>15</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>93.2</TD><TD align=right>75</TD><TD align=right>36</TD><TD align=right>31</TD><TD align=right>10</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD align=right>32</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>66</TD><TD align=right>5</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>1</TD><TD align=right>.214</TD></TR><TR class=bg3 vAlign=center align=right height=15><TD align=left>> 5 Days Rest</TD><TD align=right>4</TD><TD align=right>4</TD><TD align=right>4.60</TD><TD align=right>13</TD><TD align=right>12</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>78.1</TD><TD align=right>76</TD><TD align=right>44</TD><TD align=right>40</TD><TD align=right>17</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD align=right>28</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD align=right>54</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD align=right>1</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>0</TD><TD align=right>3</TD><TD align=right>.252</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

He is pitching on normal rest ( 5days which actually is pitching every 5th day to clarify) .Pretty great in that role last year. He made 6 starts at home last year in this role and won 5 of 6 with 2 medicore to poor starts.
vs LAA 4/26 -day start
vs Boston 5/09
vs Cle 6/08 -day game
vs LAD 6/13
vs Tor 8/14 - day game
vs Oak 9/10- midst of a slump , Oak gave him some trouble last year, possibly because it was like 2/3rds LHBs (day start)

At least on paper it looks like a great spot to back Det especially off a loss. Only LHBs include AJ , Thome and new CF Brian Anderson ...Lillibridge now has 27Ks in 90 career atbats but is hitting leadoff..17/90 5 career walks but at least 2 this yr in 10 abs is improvement...

Now Jose wasalso much better taking his turn on normal rest as you can see a huge difference but had some poor day splits ..

Carlos Guillen has owned him with 3hrs and a 10bb to 1 K ratio while Cabrera and Polanco sport nice career BAA vs him but mostly singles..everyone else is fairly medicore at best ...again its LHB that have been his achilles mostly

Parlay : Det , Mets and Atl @ 3 to 1 ...( Mets and Braves just going with the SP matchups and teams off losses..)

Leaning UNDER 9.5 as well with some rested pens after a day off....

Indians ML: Simply look at KCs issues vs LHSP so far and concerned that Laffey was terrible in his AAA start but that can sometimes be due to the disappointment of being sent down to the minors . Tribe also has to go to NYY after this so pretty huge game and again Ponson issues with LHBs...

Rockies ML or +1.5 RL: just a value play with Marquis not getting along with Pinella and maybe the ole payback spot ..

Red Sox ML / Under 8.5 : Pens probably burnt but think both SP can have success so maybe 1st 5 under ..look at what happened after the 1st inning yesterday = NOTHING ! Sox to avoid the sweep but certain I will play it ....

Yanks ML / Under ? - Think TB trended UNDER huge at home vs LH especially...fluke over yesterday ...fade TB vs LHSP?

DBacks ? Lean only ...

Might be a good idea to look at the number of times Tampa loses consecutive home games last season and Andy in the role of stopper. GL

Hey guys,

I was wondering if there is a website that shows stats of hitters vs. a specific pitcher. For example, what are career individual stats of Cleveland hitters vs. Ponson. Thanks, have been looking around and can't seem to find any site with this data.

grump, that site is money but they havent put up the game previews yet.. i used that daily last year.

SN, i'm on colorado +1.5 and KC ML.

sportsline has them as well. when you go to scoreboard and click on pitching stats you can easily view 2009 batter vs. pitcher, career BVP, and it even shows BVP of the team vs. the closer.

stl @ ari : total opened @ 10.5 and that would leave me to believe that this is going over. also kinda like stl to bounce back but ill gladly stay away from this one.

bos @ oak : vet vs. rook. i like the vet but the line sure scares me. don't have an opinion yet on oakland but books obviously think they are legit.

nyy @ tb : i bet pettite in his first game and it was nice. this time im going with sonnanstine.. sorry SN.

:cheers:Have to run out but would echo jumps statement that baseballreference.com certainly is the easiest to use but would caution that now seeing what Vikingsguy posted...

played under 1st 5 inn Oak with lesser plays on Under 8.5 and Und RHE 27.5...

take out the 1st inning and Boston has struggled some vs LHSP already and Anderson had one bad inning that he described perfectly as getting out of control and looking worse then it was ...Wake has been fairly poor on the west coast and hasnt won @ OAK since 1999 or so ...lots of new faces in Oak and most havent him well and Chavez is out maybe Nomar as well ...Giambi has really struggled.....

Zona ML :
few things here - Zona was a dog to win this series but really shouldnt have been as big as it was IMO with 2 coin flip gamesin 1 and 3 and Carpenter around -140 yesterday...think they were -140 in the series...so if you like STL certainly a value play .

Anyway STL pen is real thin after yesterday playing an extra inning and seeing Carp exit in the 4th w/o throwing a pitch...STL was 2-8 L10 at Zona befor esplitting the 1st 2 games ....both pens thin but Garland IMO better chance of going 7 or 8 innings here and was better in his st start then Joel . Not to mention career AL guy getting his intro to the NL always a plus on paper...

Zona already 0-2 in game 3s with the series tied at 1 so think they would like to finally win a series as well especially since its the end of stand ..take away 2007 and Garland has always pitched better in day games ..Piniero has had some terrible troubles in day games past few years though..higher WHip 1.46 to 1.34 and baa 288 to 269 but also just about 1 run more ...while inconsistent Piniero also is 20 pts worse in his career vs RHP unusual for a RHP but 1st start it was LH that gave him fits ...

anyway just like ZOna here maybe -1.5 as well ..have to lean over with pen issues but prefer I think ZOna TT over 5 ...

Under 9 Yanks mostly as karma play ..lol..seriously though yesterdays game was an unfortunate over and think it evens out here . Pettitte is healthy and LH do well in TB....lean Yanks but on the fence ..

FWIW (game started already), but I watched all of Garland's start vs. the Dodgers and I thought he was extremely lucky the whole way. Players were making good contact all game, just moderate to deep fly-outs. Looking fade him if his fortune continues for another start or two.

good read Dmoney . Of course I just walked in and see 5-0 STL . Naturally hating myself especially for not adding the over ...maybe I catch a break and ZOna's bats break out ...:shake:

Think its fair to say Contreras actually pitched pretty good today . Was real solid till towards the end of the 5th and then started unraveling but encouraging in general IMO since he seems to be getting better and was supposed to be still rehabbing and out possibly to June-July ...:shake:

:cheers:Came here to post played the Astros ML already and -1.5 RL. Why ? Houston has been terrible and off b2b shutouts which I believe is a trend it itself but come on Hampton was solid all spring and he had some rough spots @ STL in the 1st start but in general decent outing . Mike Hampton is a gamer which is always the kind of guy I look for when betting teams on losing streaks . Now we have all trashed Hampton in some fashion over the past few years I am sure . Look at it like this though the guy had no reason to work his butt off to get back to this point except he WANTED to ....he was getting paid regardless and paid well as we all know ! Probably look at Houston TT over and probably game over as well....

Guy was nearly the same price @ STL as he is @ Pitt w/ Ohlendorf who did pitch well all ST and 1st start but bad spot IMO for him.....

and Zona answered with 4 runs in the b3 rd ..take that if Garland can settle down..

Ohlendorf vs Houston career ( small sample and from a guy who hasnt had success really so take it fwiw)

As I said yesterday played SEA for the series vs LAA ...so they won the opener now its a matter of what game I like most for them to officially win the series?

Saunders deals tmrw vs Roland Smith but today Weaver vs Washburn on paper that favors SEA looking at past history ...

Only real concern I have is fading such a strong line move .......

Mariners ML and some +1.5 -145 <!-- end right col - skyscrapper-->

Astros ML (some -1.5 ARL)
Over 8.5 and Over 4.5 TT Houston(some over RHE props possibly)
Mets 1st to score
(Mets and Atl needed to complete earlier parlay might parlay them again)
Under 9 @ Shea just a lean
Over 8.5 Atl just a lean
Milw ML
Rangers ML (and -1.5 RL)
Twins ML just a lean
Mariners ML (small +1.5 RL)
Giants just a lean

thats what I have and looking at for the rest of the night ...try to get back but have hoops in a few ...

Like the under at Shea. Think Correia is underrated. Not that he is an ace, but I don't think he is the gas can that many think he is.

Oliver Perez should match up well with Giles/Gonzo.

The scary thing here is Perez's control and SD's middle relief.
