US Open Thread

I've actually tried calling several casinos and keep getting the same quote..."we can not connect to the sportsbook, it's against gaming regulations"

Ive actually called before Dwight. LVH said they do offer Grand Slam tournaments thats it. I think the M also does. But I am not 100%

It was just the LVH actually. I called and asked to speak the sportsbook and they siad I am not allowed to. Then they asked what they can help me with. I asked if they offered tennis betting lines. They said theyll put me on hold and ask.

I tried that with various Stations casinos and South Point and got nowhere, can try with LVH - thanks!

My thoughts after Day 1:

Danielle Collins is hot
Halep did what she needed to do although she didn't need a boob adjustment
Sharasexy adjusted well
Date Krumm has no age limits
Nara is a great bet as a lower seed
Razzano should just retire
Wozniacki doesn't like to play 10 games in a set, take the unders
Flipkens is a total cunt
Radwanska is a serious final four contender
Kerber could be knocked out pretty quickly
Cornet is still the shittiest seeded player in a GS
Giorgi is probably on the run again.

What are the thoughts on the ATP side?

1-2 (-$11.50)

I hope Raonic can up his game and get rolling...kid doesn't look like he is playing top form tennis at the moment. Thought Daniel did quite well considering he is a clay courter.

I see this Maximo Gonzalez vs. Querry match...how the heck is Gonzalez +7? Dude took out Janowicz last year in the US Open, now I know Jerzy is a head case but Querry can drift in and out of matches too. I +7 is too much for Querry...gonna stay off it though and hope Rubin comes through for me.

Anyone think Alison Riske is worth a shot against Ivanovic? I know Ivanovic did really well last week before losing to Williams....but Riske can be a pain in the ass to play against with her persistence. I think she might be able to sneak the first set and maybe the match in front of what should be a pro-USA crowd. Going to take a stab on her with +1.5 sets (+154).

Day 2:

ATP
Noah Rubin ML (+270) for $75
Noah Rubin +5.5 (-102) for $50

Wayne Odesnik ML (+364) for $50

WTA
Alison Riske +1.5 sets (+154) for $50

Won't be surprised if Riske does push Ivanobitch to 3, I do see a 6-1 or 6-2 type set somewhere there, one of them is going to have a mental breakdown.

How about Francoise Abanda....another Canadian gal only 17!

I have been laying some major chalk...up to -850... And winning so far. I just think if you avoid certain scenarios there are not going to be many upsets in this rd

well this goes the same for any tournament or any sport....just takes one or two upsets and you're screwed.
I think -850 is just too much for any player unless it's Joker, Fed on Grass/HC or Nadal on Clay and Serena Williams

Added a few wta picks...

Shuai Zheng +4 (-108) for $15 and ML (+192) for $35

And an ATP pick
Jarkko Niemenin ML (+130)

king,
I personally haven't seen Rubin play before, why are you so high on this dude?

I also don't give a shit but I"m going to play a unit on Hewitt ML @ 4.30 and heavily +2.5 sets, Berdych is pretty birdshit right now and for some reason Hewy loves playing 5 setters, one of the first marathon men in modern era.

Milos draw just got easier with Rosol being knocked out. He seriously has a chance of playing against 3 straight Qualifiers before the Round of 16.

I agree on Hewitt. Bird-shit is a joke...

I like Rubin because he is a young american who has done very well for his age competing amongst his peers. He has very little (basically none) tour experience. He may not have won me any money this week but in the future he will. Keep his name in mind down the road...kid will win tournaments. Do a little google search on his results this past year, just needs more time/experience.

I got absolutely crushed today....last year in the open I was money through the first 2 days...this year I think I've won 1 bet, my first wager on Radwanska -8.5 against Fichman. 1-7 (-$336.50)

Gutsy stuff by Souza and Dancevic

Day 3 thoughts

Aggy Radwanska won't win a GS
The more I shit talk Cornet the more she wins, FML
Sloane Stephens is the prime example of US Tennis, all hype and no follow through
Halep is now probably the most trust worthy women's player other than Serena to cover big spreads
Wozniacki needs to fix her hair before the next round
Venus....I like how's playing the last few weeks.

There are some really good 3rd round matchups set up already Errani v Venus, Wozniacki v Petkovic, Sharapova v Lisicki,

havnt thought much of the card for wednesday/thursday....easy to say that cause I've lost basically every wager on the Open...

will find winners though, just takes a bit of time.

Pliskova knocks off Ivanovic!
Paying avg 6.34 damn wasn't so sure if that was the right time to fade Invanobitch.

Penetta -3.5 cashes

Ivanovic was so solid against Riske...can't believe she was full of errors today.

Looking at this Raonic / Gojowyckz over.... Milos did not impress me against a 21 year old Clay Courter in his first round....I had Gojowyckz to beat Raonic when they played on grass. Not sure I'll take him on the moneyline today but I don't think Raonic can approach this match like a 'practice' as he did against his 1st round opponent.

Raonic/Gojowyckz over 35.5 (-102) for $204

If I lose this one I'll have to shut down my open with over $500 in losses...:enraged:

easy shit, congrats

Tough to see all the hype surrounding Bouchard when really she is just your slightly above average WTA player. Still want to see her succeed because she is Canadian and a possible future wife of either myself or GLB (Sorry Toronto Mike, nothing personal).

Glad that Gojowyckz was able to push that match over...Raonic looked rough against the Clay Courter, Daniel...and didn't look much better against Gojowyckz, hence why I played the over. I thought the German should of won the 1st set which would of really made Raonic sweat..

Today's games...well so hard to say what will happen with this disgusting card...Janowicz against Anderson? Glad I didn't waste my time looking at that one.

One pick I'm liking is a Wozniacki fade with Petkovic...this german has the power I think to hit the pusher Wozniacki off the court just as Camila Giorgi did for me in the US Open tune-up tournament. Petkovic, who has the experience and skill to close out a match against a former #1 such as Wozniacki is dogged at +309 simply based off rankings and possibly the fact she played a 3 set match two days ago....Woz should of played a 3 setter in her opening match but her opponent retired...then she got a SOFT player in Sasonovich who lets be honest was a bit overwhelmed in the situation but still played some OK tennis. Now Petkovic played up and down tennis against Puig..and was down a double break in the 3rd before coming back to win in a TB. If that doesn't build some inner confidence/belief then I don't know what will...hopefully she cuts back on the UE's and gets it going today.

US Open Record: 2-7 (-$116.50)
Disgusting record...but I'll take it rather than 0-9.

Friday:

Petkovic ML (+309) for $40
Petkovic +4.5 (+100) for $20
