Its absolutely vital in tennis. No other sport are you out there all alone to battle like you are in tennis. Maybe golf but I don't really look at that in the same way. The mental focus you need is like no other. You see time and time again how the young ones struggle and then eventually mature and learn to be a pro and control their emotions. It's a big part of the sport.
