Transfer News, Rumours and Completed

Milan linked with Andre Ayew

Stories in France this afternoon claim that Milan have made a move for Marseilleattacker Andre Ayew.
L’Equipe lead with the news that the Rossoneri have enquired about the Ghana international, with the hope of tabling a bid in the coming days.

It is claimed that Pippo Inzaghi is looking for another wide man to join his attack next season, and sees the 24-year-old as the ideal candidate.

New OM boss Marcelo Bielsa is thought to be happy to let the winger leave StadeVelodrome this summer, but it is unclear how money it would take to prize him away.

The San Siro outfit have already brought Jeremy Menez for that position, and have also been linked with Shakhtar Donetsk’s Douglas Costa.

Manchester United hold talks with Napoli over Marouane Fellaini exit

Marouane Fellaini’s nightmare time at Manchester United could be about to end as the club are in negotiations with Napoli regarding the midfielder, whose £27.5m fee last summer made him the fourth most expensive player in the club’s history.

Fellaini is thought to be minded to make the move to Italy, although he is still weighing up the decision. Whether it would be a permanent transfer or loan deal is also in the balance.

United would prefer to sell the player and are bracing themselves to take a sizeable loss on him, with any fee in the region of £15m understood to be considered good business. Napoli, though, want to take Fellaini on a temporary basis as the Italian club have straitened finances and are trying to remove players from their books.

With Fellaini on about £100,000 a week, his terms may also be an issue if it were to be a permanent transfer. Despite the Belgian’s disappointing form since joining United – he failed to score a goal for the club and was unlucky with injuries – Rafael Benítez, the Napoli head coach, believes the player’s physicality could be utilised in Serie A.

The move away from United is being presented to Fellaini as a chance to rebuild his career and an opportunity to play Champions League football as United are not in the competition next season.

Fellaini’s disgruntlement at his troubled year at United was evident at theWorld Cup when he was asked about his Old Trafford experience. “I have played eight years as a professional, so I don’t need to prove [anything],” he said. “I always believed in myself.”

Shinji Kagawa’s future at United is also in doubt as Louis van Gaal continues to assess his players during the tour of the United States. Kagawa’s former club, Borussia Dortmund, retain an interest in him and are seen as potential suitors.

Van Gaal has described the squad he inherited from David Moyes as “broken”. The manager was asked whether succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson would have been harder and replied: “No. I don’t agree. I had to follow Bobby Robson at Barcelona the year after he won three titles and there wasn’t a problem [Van Gaal won the league that year]. When there is success you have a very good squad, and now I have to follow and the squad was broken, I think.

Van Gaal said there was quality in the squad but added: “There are a lot of players that can play in the same position. It is not in balance. It’s more difficult to succeed in a difficult situation than in a fantastic situation.”

Robin van Persie is due to restart training at Carrington on Monday after his post-World Cup break and will not be joining United in the US.

Ghana international Jordan Ayew signs for Lorient

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew is looking forward to a new chapter in French Ligue 1 after his move from Olympique Marseille to rivals FC Lorient.

The 22-year-old signed a four-year deal with Lorient on Monday after choosing them ahead of several offers to move away from France.

"It was not a difficult choice because this is a fantastic and progressive club," Ayew told BBC Sport.

"The club is ambitious and they have a great structure."

Ayew, the son of Ghana great Abedi Pele, spent eight years with Marseille but is now looking forward to a new challenge.

"The atmosphere is good, the facility is great and you have everything in place to focus on football," he continued.

"This is the perfect place for me, and I am really looking forward to joining the squad and continue in this competitive championship [Ligue 1].

"All I want to do is give my best to the club and hopefully it will be a successful time for everyone associated with the team."

Ayew, who has 17 caps and five goals for the Black Stars, was part of the Ghana squad to the last world Cup in Brazil.

He made a switch last winter by spending six months on loan at Sochaux, where his five goals in 17 matches could not prevent the club from relegation from the top flight.

The forward made his debut in 2009 and scored 14 goals in 111 league matches for Marseille, including four goals in 23 matches for them in European competitions.

During his time at the club where his father made his name, Ayew won the French league title in 2010 and the League Cup in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Valencia granted work permit

Enner Valencia has completed his transfer to West Ham United after being granted a work permit

West Ham United are delighted to announce that Enner Valencia has been granted a work permit following a hearing at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

Valencia agreed to join the Hammers from Mexican side Pachuca earlier this month after a stellar performance in the FIFA World Cup, which saw him net three goals in as many games for Ecuador.

West Ham fought off competition from a host of Europe's leading clubs to secure the services of the 25-year-old and he will now link up with Sam Allardyce's squad ahead of the new Barclays Premier League campaign.

Everton close to landing Lukaku: the figures and details

Romelo Lukaku is close to joining Everton. The negotiation is in the advanced stages, Everton will likely keep the striker they had on loan last season. Everton is willing to spend 30 million euro plus bonuses to purchase him on a permanent basis. Chelsea is considering the offer and developments are expected in the coming hours. Everton could acquire Lukaku, this time on a permanent basis.

Valencia has an agreement for Balanta but don’t have a non EU slot available: the situation

Eder Alvarez Balanta is a prospect that many clubs like and his future could be in Spain. Valencia has reached an agreement with River Plate for the Colombian defender, born in 1993, on the basis of 6.5 million euro. But there is an issue blocking the deal: the Spanish club doesn’t have a non EU slot available and Balanta doesn’t have a European passport. Should Valencia open up a slot they can close the deal for Balanta.

Everton close to completing deal to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku is set to join Everton on a permanent basis with the Chelsea striker flying to Merseyside for a medical on Wednesday.

Although the club are yet to officially confirm the signing of the Belgium international, and maintain that talks remain “ongoing” with Chelsea, the medical is thought to be a formality following his World Cup exertions.

Lukaku is expected to sign a five-year contract at Goodison Park and, though reports from Belgium of a €38m transfer fee are inflated, the deal will represent a club record transfer for Everton, in the region of £22-25m.

small risk money wise for Spurs. Good money going back to Seattle

Is he going be loaned back to Seattle for the remainder of the season? I thought I read that deadline had passed

what do you think Spurs do with him teed? Loan him out for a season or two, bring him back if he becomes good enough or sell him for a profit? Doesn't seem likely he will get any serious minutes with this team immediately

unless Kyle Walker has some ridiculous injury he's probably going to be fished out....I hear Aston Villa likes loaning players and he's American fits the bill!

haha wtf...Villa about to buy Aly Cissokho for 2.4mil pounds, oh man we're desperate. Hutton back as well...we're so fucked.

Happy ending as Luzenac continue their French fairytale

By Everton Gayle

Luzenac football club, the minnows from the Pyrenean town of 650 people, have achieved their dream after Toulouse’s administrative court ruled that the club is legally entitled to be promoted and to play in Ligue 2.

The court annulled the ruling by the Direction Nationale de Contrôle et de Gestion – the body that regulates the financial affairs of clubs.

Five years previously the Ariegeois team were an amateur outfit in the regional leagues. When they were promoted to Ligue 3 in the Championnat de France National in 2009 nobody gave them a hope. For the first two seasons after promotion they just about avoided relegation and they had financial problems.

But that changed when businessman Jérôme Ducros stepped in and he set about turning the club around. He increased the budget to £2m and brought in former France and Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez as managing director. The Frenchman bought wisely and under manager Christophe Pélissier the club flourished, finishing the season second as top scorers.

“We had planned to gain promotion in three years so we are well ahead of schedule,” said Ducros after the club’s most successful season.

Once promotion was secured the club began to look to the future. They had to find a new stadium. Their own ground, Stade Paul Fédou, with one sole stand had a 400-seat capacity.

Arrangements were made to play their home games at Toulouse, 80 miles north.

The club said the financial side of the business was balanced and sound.

“We are not even one euro in debt,“ said Barthez.

But things turned sour when the DNCG dashed their dreams: the body had blocked the promotion of Nice in 2002 and Lens this summer. Both those decisions were successfully appealed.

With today’s successful ruling Luzenac can look to the future and it seems the sky’s the limit.

The headache for Ligue 2 is how to organise a season with 21 teams. Last season’s bottom club were not relegated. And officials have two days to figure things out before the new campaign kicks off.

unless Bentekkers get back to form they are in big trouble I think this year

well word has it he's actually in better shape then he was first season. But you know how these injuries take it's toll on a players mentality.
End of the day I'll be happy if we can stave off relegation and find a new rich billionaire owner.
Funny how PL now needs Hutton, N'Zogbia and Bent fucking idiot way to cast them off and be desperate.
Another year of boring direct football here...Villa Park use to be a tough place to play and now fuck only news VP gets is being on Fifa 15 and hosting England home games.

teed,
Anthony Martial, word has it the Spurs going after this kid. Haven't watched enough to give a thought, what are your thoughts on him?

Everton agree loan deal for Chelsea winger Christian Atsu

Everton have agreed a deal to bring Chelsea winger Christian Atsu to Goodison Park on a season-long loan.

The move will be subject to a medical early next week.

Blues boss Roberto Martinez identified the 22-year-old Ghana international as a replacement for Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu who enjoyed a successful temporary stint which the Toffees last term.

Atsu was signed by Chelsea from Porto on a five-year deal last summer, but spent the season on loan at Dutch side Vitesse Arnheim where he made 28 appearances and scored five goals.

teed,
Anthony Martial, word has it the Spurs going after this kid. Haven't watched enough to give a thought, what are your thoughts on him?

he's highly thought of but Ive not seen enough to know if hes worth the hype

he can play any position in a front 3 which would be good, but I think its just a story, with Falcao leaving he probably gets some game time at Monaco this year, I think they keep him

my guess is they don't buy anyone else this window besides Musacchio and Schniederlin unless it's Depay

if those go through they probably sell Dawson or Kaboul and maybe Dembele or Sandro, if they do end up getting another wide forward in Lennon probly goes too
