Trade SZN Thread...

Nice pick up for grizz...maybe change in scenery will help the talented but underachieving dooooook kid

Sounds like working on Grizz/Heat deal to become 3 teamer with Gallo also heading to Miami. Grizz gonna need more than Winslow to take on both James Johnson and Waiters’ salaries though.

I though masai would figure out a way to get gallo

Still dont see heat out of round 1 tho....
East playoffs will be, uh, interested. You have the bucks...the Celtics... Philly looks on brink of implosion. Indiana and Miami could get to ecf or lost to anyone in first round. Meanwhile the champs are rolling. The big thing here is the East is 6 teams so the Atlantic race will be interesting to who gets the 2 seed. The bottom of the East, wow, just bad. O mean Chicago and Detroit somehow are sitting there alive.

Ya that's what I'm seeing as well, fwiw

The bucks and 2 seed just get a cakewalk and 3-6 at least at this point are who knows, philly seems like easiest team to just outmatched by lineup, as long as there isnt a coaching change

Also cant believe babywolves in minny are playing the hesi hay on throwing in a few picks to get DeAngelo and unloading wiggins

The fact it's what KAT wants is enough to do it

Wiggins wouldnbe purrrrrrfect for the dubs too, he would basically be what iggy was a few years ago with a better slash game, not as good on d consistently but the talent is there and on a team where next year hed be the 3rd option at best he would have no excuse not to go all out on d

Dubs with steph, klay, dray. Wiggins, a top 4 pick, and some draft capital is a very nice quick reset on that squad

Hope that deal still happens

Wiggins would be nasty on the warriors, a team where he has zero pressure bc you’ve got Steph and Klay, and will just be able to get tons of points in transition and off open looks.

Minnesota needs to move on from KAT. Don’t see a pairing with him and D-LO making them better than what they are, and I don’t think you can win with Towns being your best player. As good as he is, even when he puts up like 35-15 I never feel like he’s dominating the game and the best player on the floor. It’s like a soft 35-15.

C's were asking for Christian Wood from Stons and Casey said...."ah...no" Stons high on the young gun.

Wednesday's start for Romeo was showcase talent start to be part of some trades C's may make today.

Wood has been a real good surprise this year, especially lately ... Trust me I didn't buy that training camp hype but he's been very good. That was a nice sneaky little move by Boston to aquire young, cheap talent...on the cheap.

The Celtics have been linked to a few names, the latest being Detroit’s Markieff Morris. He’s still on the table and would provide the Celtics a deep threat off the bench.
Morris is shooting 39.3% from 3-point territory in 2019-20. He’s not a particularly good defender, but he’s long (6-foot-8) so brad Stevens could find a way to make things work.

Operating under the notion the Celtics are looking for someone who can provide long-range shooting off the bench, here are three other players the Celtics could target before the deadline, in addition to Morris and Davis Bertans:

Solomon Hill, Grizzlies

Both Hill and Jae Crowder were late scratches for the Grizzlies on Wednesday, so they’re involved in deals that are in the works. Crowder isn’t on this list because he’s shooting 29.3% from deep this year.

Hill, on the other hand, is shooting 38.1% from beyond the arc. And he’s already comfortable coming off the bench — that’s been his role in Memphis.

Luke Kennard, Pistons

The Suns were in on him, but the deal fell apart. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, there were issues regarding protections on the first-round pick Phoenix was sending Detroit.

Luckily for the Pistons, the Celtics have three 2020 first-round picks at their disposal (assuming the Memphis and Milwaukee picks convey, which remains the trend).

Kennard is shooting 39.9% from long-range this year and is a career 40.2% 3-point shooter.

His major drawback: his knees.

Kennard is dealing with tendinitis in not just one of his knees. He’s got it in both of them. Kennard hasn’t played in a game since December 23.

Nemanja Bjelica, Kings

The Kings dealt Dewayne Dedmon on Wednesday, and they’re focused on re-signing Bogdan Bogdanovic before the off-season, according to NBC Sports California. Sacramento is far from a contender this year and they need to make other moves to change that for 2020-21.

Bjelica is a helpful piece, but he’s not putting the Kings over the top — which is why they offered him to the Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.

His money ($6.8 million) is a non-issue and Bjelica has been lights out from deep (43.4%) this year, and he has shot over 40% from deep in each of the two previous seasons — so this isn’t a fluke year.

The problem with trying to acquire Bjelica is Sacramento’s opinion of him.

The fact that the Kings thought they could trade him to LA for Kuzma is a reach on Sacramento’s part — as much as the Lakers forward might be overrated. The Sacramento forward would be a good addition for the C’s, but Kuzma is simply more dynamic. The point of bringing up the Lakers deal is if the Kings thought they could trade Bjelica and get Kuzma, what are they going to expect from the Celtics?

In looking at these five players, again, including Bertans and Morris:

  • Bertans and Bjelica would be ideal for bench scoring but seem difficult to acquire
  • Kennard’s knees are a concern
  • Hill makes a little over $12.7 million, but as Keith Smith of RealGM points out, the Celtics have wiggle room monetarily.
  • Morris seems like the easiest player to acquire of the five.

Pretty sure I still can't figure out which Morris is which over the years. I know we've had both at different times.

Sounds like both Hill and Crowder are involved in the deal with Grizz and Heat to help facilitate Gallo to Miami.

yup...i like what both teams got in the trade. Heat just made the East playoffs VERY interesting

In less than 1 full season, Pat Riley has shed the dead weight of Hassan, Waiters, and JJ. Flipped them into Iggy and Crowder/Solomon WHILE saving money for 2021 Free agency flexibility.

Heat:
Iggy
Jae
Solomon

Grizz:
Winslow
Waiters
Johnson

It happened!

Excited for this deal for the dubs

Wiggins has already made huge strides this year, that fit in the bay is perfect for him

3rd option offensively, all hes gonna do is shoot wide open 3s and drives to the basket, hes gonna have to listen to steph and curry and draymond on d

They are gonna have depth too with the cheap draft picks, including a top 4 pick this year?

Dubs next year are back

great trade for Dubs...truth is they never needed Russell with Splash bros back next season and now they get a slasher with new start and tons of upside to score with no pressure

Lmfao. If the Knicks trade Mitch I swear to god. Trier would be good in LA. Really don’t know why he’s fallen out of favor here in ny. He’s a bucket getter. Oh yeah. He plays no d, but wait neither does Kuz, so why do we want him again? Lol. I mean if you can trade Mook and Trier (who isn’t playing anyways) and then resign mook in the offseason, sure, you basically getting him for free so why not, but no way do you give up Mitch.

Not thrilled w the clippers offer either. Trading Morris for anything centered around Harkless is pretty useless

I really like Kuzma, young player that can score bunches. Not good on defense and yet yo meet a shot he didn't like, but a scorer and that's important...
