As for the Brewers I don't want them trading any long term players for a rental even as great as Suarez has been this season. So go with the same powerless lineup that got you here and hope they don't choke as usual come playoff time. I suppose I should be satisfied as this is my only team that is not a bottom feeder but I've had about enough of the first round playoff exits.
 
Naylor was the most obvious to move on from the Snakes and the M's get some much needed power at that position even though his stats will likely look a little different in Seattle than Phx. Snakes have to have a place for Del Castillo (1B) because he isn't going to be a catcher at MLB level, especially with Moreno when he's healthy and Herrera. Too young to be wasted at DH so naturally Naylor was the easiest to trade. Still not sure if they move on from Suarez at this point, that one's more iffy.

The asking price for Suarez is supposedly super high so if they can get what they want it would be foolish not to move him. He's perfect for what the Brewers need but I don't believe in paying a high price for a rental. I'd happily give Caleb Durbin who is the current third baseman that has 5 years of control after this season but I doubt he has the upside that Arizona would be looking for.
 
Cubs have several top 100 prospects. Be interesting to see who they deal out of ballestetos, caissie, Wiggins, Alcantara, and Rojas. Alcantara makes the most sense because he's going to be most valuable in CF which he isn't ever going to play in Chicago. They pretty much have to hold caissie unless they think they're signing Tucker.

You have to hang the banner if you do it. The cubs trade of gleyber torres for a few months of Chapman feels real bad if they don't win it. But since they won it, you don't even care.
 
was seen as a backup plan for the cubs to platoon with Shaw. Rockies would have had to eat a bunch of money for the cubs to take on that contract.
 
Thats a good pickup for the yanks. Probably disny have to give away that much like if they would have gone after suarez.
 
Maybe one day the Brewers will come to realize how hard it is to win a championship when 2/3 of your lineup is 5'8 160 lbs and struggles to hit it out of the infield. I'm amazed how this team isn't consistently losing 90 games with a AA level lineup.
 
Mcmahon has some past success against suarez. Hrr is at o1.5 +135. To get a hit is -135. Cashman is hoping he gets a hit today and has no errors, or he will be killled in the papers tomorrow.

Cashman should be killed by the media for being a garbage GM.

5 years of control is pretty significant. Another intra-division trade

Wonder how these progress. Obviously easier for the front office people since they run into each other frequently

I know here on good merit that Seattle and KC are always going to be good trade partners for the Dbacks. Of course they all do the Spring Training here but the relationships between the brass are deeper than just GM types.
 
Suarez to M's, they are all in. Best pitching staff in MLB and now a loaded batting lineup

Curious to see what we received that we didn't in the Naylor trade. I know the AZ/SEA connection is tight so hoping we stocked up. M's farm system has always been loaded with pitching and there's a lot to pluck from that tree.
 
Also Mariners are the best roster in MLB right now and it really isn't even close

They basically have to make the WS for this to be a success but even if they don't, they will have the best pitching staff for the next 5 years.
 
When you look at what Arizona was asking for Suarez and what they ended up getting I think the return is light. While I'm against giving a ton for a rental my team should have beaten that offer since Suarez is everything they are missing.

Hey Brewers, is it just me or are the returns on most of the trades for these so called big names down so far this season, just seems to me teams are not over paying like in the past.
 
Mariners #3 starter is Woo who would be most teams' ace and now they have a loaded offense. All in there.
 
Yea KJ, I think the M's are in position to challenge the $odgers right now, they certainly are making the right moves.

Braves had Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz who are all hall of famers and they won exactly one world series. The Mariners have to win a lot more before I would have any confidence in them.

Seattle winning one World Series would be bigger than Russ Super Bowl

One trophy would be insane. They now have a roster to do it and a ton of pitching talent in the tank

No team is close to them when it comes to pitching. They are insanely loaded down to single A
