*** Trade Deadline Discussion***

You're such a fan

I'm actually being objective. Mariners are by far the best roster in MLB. Dodgers are a distant second.
I’m a fan because I said the pickup was good and what they needed whilst it was shit I’m in here?

I got news for ya..
Any lineup with Josh Naylor (or Bo Naylor) is NOT the best roster in MLB.
Josh is way over rated and sucks. Cle made out big getting a pitcer and dumping his ass. Watch and see. He is SHIT and the king of Choke!
He lost more games with men on base for Cle than any player on the team --- except his .179 batting-average brother!
Cle has three catchers that are the worst of all teams. None hit over 180! They all belong in the parking lot, sweeping up garbage.

The discussion needs to stay respectful, guys. I'll be cleaning this up and monitoring further. If you want to discuss, we have a rule about being civil.

Woo should be their ace and he’s still a 3.2 ERA guy. Gilbert and Kirby need to get elite again, quick.

Real deal today isn't anything more than it might be the last day to get unlimited toppings on a large pizza at Dominos. NBAfan didn't ask me to promote this, all on me but what an incredible deal!

Brewers not adding a power hitter is criminal.

The Cubs not adding a legitimate starting pitcher

Brewers traded for Shelby Miller......... and Jordan Montgomery. I know I should trust this front office but why did they do this.

Padres made out the best in trades.
Now have the best pitching in the division.

Although TEXAS will surprise IMO.

There is no diminating team in the AL?
Lets remeber Detroit is in the worst division, so their excellent record must be put in perspective....

What’s not respectful? I said McMahon was exactly what the Yanks needed. People disagreed with vitriol.
As pointed out, he’s batting .389 and is better on defense and just had a walk off hit to win the game.
I wanted to make sure the fucking retards that laughed me off the forum got checked.
In a respectful way of course.

Take a poll around this forum for me why don’t ya

You’re fine. The post I deleted was overly aggressive and didn‘t contribute anything substantial. Was expecting earlier posts to be bad and wanted to accomplish preemptive strike

Mister how does one post a Google image calling guys fucking retards…just kidding Twinkie :) ball-busting is the norm here, difference between good fun which is respectful at its core and what the discussion looked like it was devolving into

Also Mariners are the best roster in MLB right now and it really isn't even close

They basically have to make the WS for this to be a success but even if they don't, they will have the best pitching staff for the next 5 years.

Mariners are perennial chokers. I know you hate metrics, but most metrics I use have them in the bottom half of the AL..I wouldn't go that far but what do I know

I read yesterday the Mariners staff is ranked 14th in MLB this year, that they had fallen off from last year and was a big reason only 4 games over .500. Dont recall the metric.

Well they only just got healthy

This is true. They haven't been completely healthy all year.
I've been N Phx for 20+ years now. Closest for Spring Training is SD/SEA complex and AZ/COL....no chance in hell I give a fuck about the Rox but I do pull for SD and SEA when the Snakes aren't really relevant. So there is definitely some slant. Mariners pitching is completely loaded today and moving forward. They have figured out how to manage prospects and the farm system. Every team should take lessons from them.

Walk rate/whip and average strikeout/walk ratio both aren't good which leads to their shitty run differential as @cubsker alluded to. Basically, they walk too many players and this is always bad, especially for leadoff walks which generate a 64% chance to score.

Tigers, Twins, Seattle probably have the best farm systems now. However, the Dodgers and Yankees always seem to have the prospect someone wants to obtain in a trade every fucking year.

For anyone trying to say that the Mariners lineup is so elite I am a diehard Mariners fan and I watch pretty much every single game and one thing I can say is that on paper they look good, but in reality, they are not clutch hitters and they cannot hit Leighton games against other teams top relievers they are a front running team that cannot come from behind - the Phillies are a much better lineup as they have the ability to damage when they are down and against the opponents best
