Figured we mise well get a dedicated thread to this.

That Florida swing, unreal. Man, what a fun team.

Predictions? Even a loss at OKC is a real good road trip. A win there is icing on the cake.

To be honest, GSW annoy the hell out of me... So many people are riding their d*ck, it sickening. They are great, but I'm tired to hear it time after time after time after time after time after time...
This is a great group of both stars (Green and Curry) and role players (Thompson, Iggy and Livingston are just amazing role players). Still... this is still a basketball team, not gods that we should pray to...

As for the record, it will be decided by can they avoid surprise losses as the loss to Portland. Looking back at their losses, I feel that this one was the only one that was big surprise. Maybe Denver, but just maybe. Btw, I feel that 41 - 0 at home would be even more amazing than 73 wins. Because to win all games... just incredible. I still remember how very very very very close GSW were to losing at home to Nets of all teams... If that was the case, many records wouldn't have been broken...
Bulls lost two at home and lost once B2B - that in the end can easily be the difference between the things.

I also feel that chasing someone is much easier than to lead. I'm 99% sure that if before Bulls there was another team in history that would have won 72 games, they would have found a way to win 73 games.
I hope GSW break the record and lose the title...

And btw, Magic did absolutely horrible job on defense against Curry tonight. At least twice, they left him absolutely open in P&R with both players staying with the screener and Curry scored a wide open three pointer. I couldn't believe it...

They have their share of band-wagoners but that's what success brings. Peeps rode the Lakers' dick back when they were winning 'ships.

What the Dubs are doing is a big deal. If people are hating then you're doing something right.

Calling Klay a role player is insulting, dude is as much a star of that team as Curry.

You sound bitter Divol.

Teams have been lighting it up from outside vs Orlando for awhile now.

It was expected that their young backcourt wouldn't be able to handle Scurry.

Very believable.

Don't understand why people hate others success so much and root for them to fail.

Dubs have been built from the ground up, not manufactured like certain 'ship winning teams before them. There is nothing to hate imo.

I like the Dubs. What makes me root against them is all the new fans that are going crazy for them and talking about them and how amazing they are, again and again and again and again and again...
I hate mid season hype overall, but so much hype? It just rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ummm probably because they are pretty amazing, they actually play as a team instead of individuals and it is refreshing. Not too mention they might set the single season win mark - but yea you are right it there should not be any hype regarding this team at all..............smh

A team can't have 3 - 4 stars in my opinion. I believe that Green and Curry are historically good players. Klay is a great player but one level below them. I'm not bitter at all. Why would I be bitter at GSW? One of the most fun teams to watch, as long as you put the TV on mute...

The comparison to the Bulls team is an absolute joke. I'm hoping they don't break it.

Divol, you cannot hate on this team because they are bringing new fans in. That's just silly. Happens with every winning team. The bandwagon fans exist in every sport.

I don't know how is it in USA broadcasting, but in Israel... just sick... I honestly can't watch their games because of it...

I am gonna be sarcastic here but it seems a lot of you younger guys think todays NBA is much tougher so this is kinda contradicting...

I agree. I don't think that the Warriors are evil. They are amazing team that is fun to watch, but when something takes the whole fun out of it, it makes you a bit annoyed.

That's crazy... seriously...

Not crazy considering Billy D is the coach, looks like the same if not worse Scotty Brooks coached team.

Noone in the current NBA can beat the Dubs when the Dubs bring their A-game. Sad but true.

Donovan is a terrible coach. Much much worse than Brooks.
Crazy is the fact that Warriors are favorites on the road, against a team that is absolutely healthy and most believe is a contender...

You're watching history divol, embrace it. And this is the real MVP of the Warriors. Dude has done a great job.

No player in the league past or present pulls up at that point and takes that shot let alone nail it.

Scurry is something else.

What a way to end a 7-game road trip.

Very true. I was in the in-game and jokingly predicted on the last play there'd be a stop, rebound, then a Curry 3 from halfcourt to win it. Wasn't from halfcourt, but good enough

About the only thing other than a wager that makes the NBA regular season interesting so I am hoping they break the record. Records are made to be broken. They would likely get swept by the Bulls team they are going to pass up (unless they have one game of that special GSW three ball that makes them tough to beat on a given night) but who cares, really? I wish the league would reduce the number of teams. Just too many non-competitive teams currently. Maybe go relegation or something.

They are fun to watch. Have to give them that.

And btw, this is why I 100% agree with Mark Jackson that said that Curry is bad for basketball, example wise. At least 50% of his shots, no player other than him should ever even think of taking, not to mention actually take. Curry is amazing, unique, one of a kind player - no one should try and play like Curry. Seriously... If you were coaches and your player would have taken three pointer on one leg or shot three pointer 5 feet from three point line, with hand in his face with 15 seconds left on the possession, wouldn't you bench him?
He is a player that 30 years from now, people are going to talk about. About the fact that he is probably the best pure shooter to ever play the game.

220px-Bob_Myers_%28cropped%29.jpg

Agree about the MVP. The decision to draft Green, to keep Thompson and not trade him for Love, the Ezeli pick, the decision to stick by Curry and not Ellis, the decision to sign Curry on a long contract, despite all his injury problems - the last decision is probably the only reason why GSW been able to form the team that they have right now - all amazing decisions and none probably was easy to make...

As for embracing history, I think that GSW are amazing team. Best team in the league, no doubt and I don't think anyone in their right mind will even try to argue that. But... Best team doesn't always equal title and we all need to remember that.
Also, I been always rooting for underdogs (I know that it sounds strange from a Lakers fan - but that was just a love at first sight because of Magic and Kareem - didn't know even that they were champions or their history or nothing - just fell in love with their basketball)...

One more point - I hate to praise teams in the middle of the season. GSW actually broke Philly record for first to 50 wins, not Bulls. They just started losing in the end of the season and couldn't stop, that's why they no where near the record. Not saying it's going to happen, but still... What if Warriors will lose in the first round? Actually, I would claim that if Warriors will lose to any team, other than maybe the Spurs, they aren't that great as we think.
Bulls 72 - 10, but they won the title. If focusing on that 73 - 9 will mean that they won't be as ready for the post season, that worth nothing...
Who knows, maybe if Bulls would have cared less about the title, they would have won 3 - 4 more games in regular season...

If they do 71 - 11 season and win B2B titles, while beating the Spurs, it would be much more impressive to me, than to go 75 - 7 in regular season and lose the title.

In the NBA, best team in the league equals title more than it doesn't, Divol.

Warriors aren't losing in the 1st or 2nd rounds with a healthy roster.

As Scurry said post-game, this team just wants to win. Breaking the Bulls' record won't distract this team from their repeat aspirations.

Curry is un-guardable, period.

No other player has a pregame routine like Scurry.

He made himself be able to shoot the way he does, hard work and dedication and that's what he teaches the kids.

Nothing wrong with that.

Bob Myers has been unbelievable. He turned the Warriors from a run and gun offensive team that had no defense to a great offensive team WITH defense. It started with getting rid of Monta Ellis and bringing in Bogut. Also brought in Iggy who's defense helped contain Lebron and win the finals MVP. The offense is nothing new for the Warriors, but the defense is.

He kept Klay over soft ass Love. Signed Curry real cheap (mostly because of past injury history). Got rid of Jackson and brought in Kerr. 2012 draft getting Harrison Barnes, Ezeli, and Draymond. Two of them late in the draft. Got Livingston after the devastating injury who seems more athletic then before the injury. All this and with the salary cap always going up they'll have enough for a max deal for another free agent next summer. Dude makes great decisions.

And IMO, I wouldn't trade or get rid of HB for Durant. There's an old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." They won a title, on the cusp of having the best regular season record, and are the favorites to win another championship. Leave everything alone for now. Not that I wouldn't love to see Durant here but just not at the cost of losing HB. He's got some great years ahead of him. And I can't wait to wait to see who the dubs bring in next year. Free agents will be lining up to come here IMO just to win a championship.

I think that Durant is the worst possible thing for GSW if they break the record and win the title. The expectations will be such, that I think no team can live up to them...
If they fail however in one of the two things, then it should be a great idea.

Bringing Iggy was a no brainer - they didn't give up anything for it, if I remember correctly. As for Livingston, it's Kidd the one that saved his career. He made him a starter in Brooklyn, before Warriors lured him away...

Btw, do you think that with Jackson, Warriors wouldn't have won the title last year?

I wouldn't say they gave up nothing for Iggy. Player wise, they didn't give up anything: Biedrens and Richard Jefferson but they did give up 2 first rounders (2014 and 2017) and 2 second rounders (2016 and 2017)that went to the Jazz in a 3 team trade. But it was all worth it with winning a championship.

Good question on Jackson. They very well could have won with Jackson but they seemed to peak with him also. The players seem more relaxed with Kerr and the defense has turned it up a notch. They love playing for Kerr. He's a player's coach, while at the same time commands respect. Jackson was more of a dictator on how he wanted to run things. Either way Jackson fucked up with his ultra religious views on gays. What was so stupid on his part is that the Warriors team president Rick Welts is openly Yag. If you're going to criticize gays don't be surprised if you get yourself fired in this day and age. I don't care how good of a coach you are, we've seen coaches get canned after winning Super Bowls (Jimmy Johnson).

What fascinated me most about Curry is how incredibly strong he is. The ability to do what he does is. For those who haven't read this article...

He's a freak.

And I was born the same day as him....
Incredible. That deadlift excercise is probably what helped his before fragile ankles that cost him many games. And when I saw how RW stepped on his ankle last night I thought for sure he was going to be out multiple games. And when he fell on his head/neck last year in the playoffs and continued to play later showed me a lot about him. Little man is TOUGH and has heart.

First NBA game I saw was in Denver with M A-R, incredible talent, pro life was so short

LaFonzo Ellis was player of the game I think, can't even remember who they played...'94 so Nuggets tix were easier than a sophomore on prom night

Refresh my memory on how Chris Jackson's career came to an end ... did he just flame out, flake out, get hurt? Can't remember. Guy was great for a minute.

I feel like Tourette's would be an asset in the NBA. Legendary accidental trash talk.

Wasn't Mahmoud Abdul Rauf the clown that wouldn't stand for the national anthem because he claimed it was a symbol of oppression?
