Connors tweeted after the loss that "Every good round starts with a bogey -- not the start we wanted, so back to work tomorrow."
But there will be no tomorrow for the popular pairing of Sharapova, currently ranked No. 3 in the world rankings, and the eight-time major winner on the men's side.
Sharapova is expected to enter play at the upcoming U.S. Open without a coach.
Connors coached Andy Roddick for two years before resigning in 2008. He briefly worked with Sharapova before the 2008 Australian Open.

I loved the -3.5 Up 2 games going to final set. Djok started taking control in the 2nd set looked unstoppable.

Unbelievable. Very even match in the 1st set. Then Djok came out and looked unstoppable in the 2nd set. Then Djok collapsed in the 3rd set. Very uncharacteristic out of Djokovic
Had Isner ML and the over... didn't have time to post. barely had time to get it locked in. Moving in and out of wifi is such a bitch. Tomorrow I take a 11 hour bus ride to Panama City before waiting 7 hours to catch my flight where I'll then have layovers in Houston and Denver. 10 hours in the Denver air port. If I can't get wireless in any of the 3 airports I'll be quite pissed off. Any thoughts on the final? Maybe Isner will finally be the one to take out Nadal.

there is no other woman on the WTA that I hate more than Serena, her body language is so fucking negative, she has such an arrogant attitude and is so ugly to watch. The only reason why she is where she is, is based on her power. Her skills are meh cause all the players have skills at this level but she just overwhelms them with power. It's so ugly to watch.

Yup worst body language to success ratio of any professional athlete I can think of. Jay Cutler thinks her body language is terrible. It's almost as if she hates the sport but cause she has such freakish power she has to do it.

When Venus played, she had a little bit of pep to her, she wanted to be out there. No one, from either side has the same energy Nadal brings. That guy you want to watch. I would not want to pay big bucks to watch a fucking camel like Serena play. Terrible role modal for tennis players. Gone are the days where finesse and strategy paid dividends in the women's game. Now she just smokes people with power but when you get her to run around she looks so bad.
I might fade her for US Open
