Some strange games next week with teams going cross-country, etc.

Some random preliminary thoughts:

- With Navy losing as a fav and Duke winning as a sizable dog today, I am interested to see that line.

- Buffalo might be worth a look if they are getting enough points. At the very least, they play hard, which is more than you can say for some other teams.

- BYU line will be interesting, especially if they lose to Tulsa tonight.

- UCF/Memphis could be a good over spot. Same with Colo St./Houston

- Idaho might worth be a look as a prohibitive dog. However, value may be lost with N Ill losing and Idaho hanging tough with the Cougs.

- I suspect that Cincy will be favored by too many and I have a lean on Marshall as of now.

- NMSU/Auburn is an interesting little game. Auburn loses two straight at home, now a gimmick offense comes to town. Interesting to see how they react.

- Purdue/Minnesota's O/U could rival UK/UL's.

- UNLV might be in a good spot at home against Utah.

At first glance, the non-conference games interest me and I might be leaning on some home dogs depending on the number.

RJ....where the hell has Meeks been hiding???

Lots of good looking spots next week depending on the numbers:smiley_acbe:

Penn State- Boy michigan got a beating comming for them next weekend. Penn state remembers all those times in years past where they got beaten at the last second and got downright beatin like hell.

Navy- Duke actually won a game last weekend, i think navy will beat the crap out of them like duke is used to. I am looking around -14.

Louisville- Man is it going to be a hard week of practice for the UL defense. I think Louisville will come back firing hard, i would not like to be on the other sid eof this one. looking for less than -21

Florida- This team simply has too many options to use on a play by play basis. I think they could put up major points on LSU. Ole Miss can't be expected to defend this dangerous offense just try to contain them and play a slow down game.

Ohio State- I really do not want to bet this simply b/c i am a OSU fan but northwestern is so bad they lose to duke. Also, the OSU offense showed me that they may be clicking as they sort of proved against washington. looking for -16.5 or less.

Texas Tech- I saw the Ok. state game and when they were down 20 point against troy all there players were laughing and smiling on the sideline like it was a spring training game. I would have to guess very little of the players care what happen this season. Texas tech have a unbelievable spread offense with many viable optoins. Looking for -20 or less.

WVU- Simply b/c they are starting to use Devine more and more, giving slaton more rest, white's passing game is comming along. Easet carolina plays them tough but it'll be like all WVU's game they keep it close till half. After that the defensive players get tired of being on the field and WVU's RB's take over. Looking for -9 orless.

Cincinatti- After watching MSU's performance, cincy was not a product of their coaching but rather a product of the type of kids they scout. Cincy's scouting department is doing it right. I think they steamroll marshall. Looking for -10 or less.

LSU- Their defense cannot be messed with they are simply too good. Offense can move the ball as well. THeir QB is getting better and better every week. He will need all his development this week as they will be tested. Looking for -10 or better.

Purdue - Minnesota is getting worse not better. Purdue is the dark horse they simply put up points and teams have big problems stopping them. Looking for -21 or better.

I'd play BYU at 5.5 and that is after watching them self implode against Tulsa. Not to mention watching Air Force beat TCU in OT. I think that line HAS to be a TD or greater.

The only matchup next week between a perfect ATS team and a perfectly bad ATS team is:

Purdue at Minny

I don't think we'll get a good line on this one. Off the top of my head, I'd have to say Purdue -7 to -10. Purdue has been impressive but really hasn't gone on the road (except Toledo) and hasn't played any competition.

just thought i would throw some first glance line impressions out there. On games I have an interest in.

TAMU/MIAMI under 40
Oky -20 @ Tulsa
UGA +3 @ Bama
Cuse +40 @ L-Ville
ECU +24 @ WVU
MSU -10 @ ND
Miami (OH) +4 @ Colo

If anyone saw the Tulsa/BYU game, I'm very interested in the OU/Tulsa over.

Tulsa looks just sick on offense, scoring 55 points and approx. 600 yards against BYU. And of course, OU put up 50+ against Miami and another 50+ against Utah St without even trying.

Tulsa will be able to score against OU with this new offense and OU will pound away too as the Tulsa D is physical but won't be a match for OU.

I'm thinking that the total will be 64 or 66.

TroyStacks - I would be all over Washington +9.5 bro, so I hope you're right there.

I would also love Texas Tech +4, and Navy -4.5.

You line projection guys are awesome. I haven't gotten around to that facet of the game quite yet. I can get a decent idea of about where something is going to be set, but there are those here that do it much better than I.

A couple I am real interested in and will try and hit if the openers are right.

Cincy - Their defense will have a field day with Marshall. They looked good on offense vs WVU simply because the Mounties defense is suspect. Of course it doesn't help my potential Cincy play that Marshall lost to friggen Maine today. I really meant to get over and see if there was a line on that at 5Dimes, but I ran out of time. Bernie Morris is not very good when he has to react quickly, which he will have to do against the Bearcats. I am not fooled by his numbers vs either WVU or Maine (he only played the last series of the second quarter and the second half). By this time the Wildcats were just playing to not lose, which they almost did. If some of you guys are right and I can get Cincy at 11 or so, I am all over it.

Idaho - Again, I hope you guys are correct in making the Vandals the home dogs in this series. I was thisclose to making a play against No. Illinois today, but did not. Idaho is not a great ballclub, but they play hard for 60 minutes and that is all I can ask. Is No. Illy still getting love from Wolfe having played there last year, cause I don't they think they should be a road fav in this spot.

ECU - I lost with em today, but I have still been eyeing this spot since I was going over the schedules this summer. WVU has USF on deck and we all know that is a huge revenge situation from last year for the Mounties. All that I wanted to happen to set this line up did, the Mounties won and covered (depending on line bet) against Maryland, and ECU losing at home today (altho ECU was not as important to the equation IMO). ECU were, I believe 24 or so point road dogs to the hokies in their opener, so might we see the same for the Pirates in Morgantown. I hope so, I really hope so.

there are a couple more than I am peeking at, but I have to get to my NFL card. Hope to see you guys tomorrow at 6.

They sure can pass!!! But BYU gave them everything, see stats>>

Ok, go ahead and rip them to shreds.

I'll list descrepencies rather than all of em:

Also, I made Clemson -7 @ NCST, saw Troy made it the other way..

OU @ Tulsa I made 21.5...suppose that could be off, but I can't see that being 37...

BYU I made 13..a TD higher than others..

WVU I made 22..

Arky I made 7.5

Pitt I made 10

Lville I made 26.5

tOSU I made 27

I made Cincy 24.5 vs Marshall.

I basically think that it will be somewhere between 17 and 21. They were 9 point favs (before Dr. Bob) on the road in a rivalry game against a MAC team that is probably better than Marshall last week and covered. Marshall was busy losing to New Hampshire.

I can see the logic on the majority of these. I will be on L-Ville at -28 or under though.

G-Man--

As a BYU backer last night, I know that BYU played uncharachteristic football with tons of turnovers and penalties. BYU still had a shot to win SU in the final minutes. Two chances actually.

I'm not interested in a side in the OU game, but total should be good. I don't think the oddsmakers will set it too high figuring that OU is superior competition and Tulsa won't be able to score at will.

But watch those totals for Tulsa. It could get really interesting.

Couldn't agree more with your Tulsa/OU thoughts. That was a BYU defnese that gave up <300 yards of offense to UCLA as well as giving up 250 to an Arizona team that has put up 480 and 490 in the following games. I don't even know what the hell they call that offense, but the misdirection was ran with perfection. Anything short of 70 will look great to me.

i like

Navy (-7 or less)
Louisville (less than -28)
Purdue (-14 or less)
PSU (-7 or less)
Washington (+8 or more)
Ohio State ( -16.5 or less)
Texas Tech (-6 or less)
Florida (-17 or less) unlikely but i can hope.

I dont know if they can post a total high enough for Tex Tech and Okie St. Tech's D is pretty damn bad and Okie St. just gave up 40+ to Troy

:smiley_acbe: Yes Agree with ya here rj ,Id even take tulsa with over 28.5 or more

Week 4 plays for me will come from the following list of games, depending on the lines of course...

OU/Tulsa over (if no higher than low 60's)
Louisville (if no higher than 35-37)
WVU (if no higher than 17-20)
Florida (if no higher than 14)
Navy (if no higher than 4)
BC (if no higher than 17)
Texas Tech (if no higher than 14, or the over if no higher than maybe 70)
MSU (if no higher than 10-14)
Baylor (if no higher than 7-10)
Kansas (if anything reasonable, say 35 or less)
USC (if no higher than 17-21)
Cincy (if no higher than 14)
Purdue (if no higher than 7-10)
Hawaii (if anything reasonable, say 48 or less)

These aren't my line predictions, just what it will take to keep these plays on the short list. I expect most (90%) will fall off the list due to the line, so my focus will be on the ones that remain in contention. I have my projected lines drawn up for all the week 4 matchups already, so for me its just a matter of comparing the actuals with the projections and going from there. That's why I am able to lock in plays so quickly after the lines open at The Greek. Best of luck in week 4 guys.
