So what did we learn in Week 2?

That I will blindly play every FCS team in weeks 1-2 next year. I am sure someone has the clip. Has to be a high percentage.

A little info for some of these conferences in their games against FBS schools.
Since 2012 (including this year to date) ATS

MEAC 24-49-1
Southland 33-43-1
SWAC 16-35

MVC 46-19

What the hell happened to Northwestern?

Going to be real interesting to see how the Louisville OL fares this week. They were wrecked last year vs fronts like Clemson, and wow...that Clemson front.

The B12 is legit good this year. Still think Texas is much better than that crap vs Maryland. OKLA, OKST, TCU, KST, and even WVU as a darkhorse are all really good teams.

Penn State has an awesome defense this year. Week 1 they crushed what is a good Akron O and followed it up this week. Great team.

Ohio State has the exact same problems as last year. Had a year to find ways to get WR open and develop JT. Just not going to happen at this point. Might as well go to Haskins.

Georgia was the most impressive team to me this weekend. Outside of the QB position they are the best team in the country. 3 great RB and an awesome defense. Their WR were running open almost every play last night too. Fromm was way, way, waaaaaay off on any throw past 5 yards. If UGA can get development at QB they could make the playoff.

I learned to listen to vk regarding games out west. He was spot on with that upset by UNLV. I sure liked Idaho in that game but thanks to Kyle, I didn't play it.

And somehow, he was dead right on the Buffalo-Army game. Btw, I liked the buffalo qb. At least I did in the first half.

Probably few of you watched the Old Dominion - U Mass thriller. At four points, it was a nail-biter, which I did not figure on. Fortunately ODU scored late to cover for me. Don't know whether to fault the ODU offense or credit the U Mass defense in that one.

And I for one was amazed at the Pitt offense, which moved the ball consistently except in the red zone. Still, I feel a bit lucky to get the cover in that one.

South Carolina impressed me in their win at Missouri. They looked better in all phases of the game..I remember their QB from a year ago ( #19, Bentley ? ) ( c'mon you cock fans and help me out )and he appears one of the better ones I have watched in college football.

I learned not to underestimate Gary Patterson and TCU. Appears to have another 9 win program at his fingertips. Not a playoff contender but going to beat some good football teams.

Lamar Jackson is good....real good. He did what he wanted to, when he wanted to do it against NC. Looking forward to week 3 and their match up.

I'm 11-4 after two weeks. Check the 'bullsheet" on Saturdays. :D

I'm glad you are taking advantage. These games tend to scare me. I don't know enough about the smaller schools. I am sure some are really good teams, but I think a lack of interest from larger schools is the reason so many have covered. No disrespect to the. I just feel that many of these larger schools would be able to do as they wanted if they really wanted to.

44-27-1

I noticed in the previous years about 90% of these games the FBS team would always get bet. I think Cris realized this and really inflated the lines this year. They open TCU -65 against Jackson St. Hard to cover these huge numbers when basically neither team even tries in the 2nd half. Games with spreads 40 or more the FCS team was 12-3. Looks like they adjusted too far this year. There are 14 of these games this Saturday.

aTm and Baylor have serious trouble and UTSA improving, Minnesota delivered, Boise State had an aTm collapse, OU, Georgia and So Carolina impressed.
UTEP was never in the game versus Rice. NMSU is improved, Texas and USC looked much better than week 1 struggles.

Kevin Steele is better than we thought when he was at Clemson. Putting boxing gloves on your DBs in practice so they can't grab jerseys doesn't mean they won't get two PI calls in the first quarter for grabbing jerseys.

UL and UNC secondary belongs in D3. Sooners win could do the same thing it did for OSU last year. Big early road win is ace in the hole for Final Four debate.
Ducks looked like the Ducks of old. USC oline manhandled Card front 7. They have terrific RBs. Rams looked great! Oops! That's NFL.

Ecu - Has transitioned from unlucky to just bad. Defense will be awful all year.
BYU - Too slow both offensively and defensively. Can probably back them against teams they can just run over but there isn't any skill talent and the QB had a promising arm but he hasn't improved. To be fair the receivers never create separation. DL is good though.

- Wouldn't draw too much from Texas / San Jose State. Latter is one of the most unathletics teams in the country. Just garbage. Herman did what he needed to do. But this Saturday night likely won't be pretty. Everyone affiliated with USC has been anxiously waiting for this game since it was scheduled. 1-4-06.
- Hard to believe that two years ago I could completely rely upon Baylor to cover 25 with ease. In the first half. Matt Rhule is a good coach and will get them on track.
- I really like what Matt Campbell is doing w/ Iowa State. Had their hearts ripped against Iowa but he's the right guy for that job / situation.
- JTB is a shell of what he used to be. Looks like he's running around on a peg leg and that doesn't help a QB who isn't accurate and has a weak arm.

i was shocked that frank wilson would leave lsu to take that job, but he has it going.......and he can recruit like no other

Illinois started 7 true frosh, most in program history. 2 OL and a TE, 2 DE. 17 tr fr played

Homefry, it really shows you how amazing what the other coach (Riley) was able to accomplish. just a hard to place to win

Anderson has upped the recruiting the last two years though, I'm not sure what the problem is. They are the worst team in the Pac 12 by a mile. I know it was a rebuild but I'll be shocked if Anderson survives to next year.

I would like to see him now against a good defense

We'll see this weekend. Jackson is making a point of trying to stay in the pocket and get the ball downfield. That pocket should be collapsing quite a bit this weekend so we'll see exactly how patient he is before taking off.
