Sherrone Fired

Considering all the rumors a 3d felony of home invasion and misdemeanor stalking sounds like the floor of what I was guessing

It appears that all of this was obvious, once he knocked her up it was game over.

Politics will always be 99% one-sided with gamblers but wtf does DEI have to do with this? I'm fairly liberal, haven't thought much about DEI in general, ever. But how is that a talking point right now?

First black HC at Michigan I believe.

The cover up…yea. I think someone posted it but it seems if they were gonna win The Game they were gonna carry on business as usual….

What the coach did OFF the field is a tragedy. The string of events is tragic.

Emotions can take hold of a person and it can lead them down a terrible path.

As it relates to his coaching ability and his criticism by @Brewers888 or anyone else whose criticism I may have missed, I am trying to understand it.

The school is basically on probation since JH left after the 2023 championship year.

8 wins last year. (7 + bowl)

9 reg season wins this year. Beat some decent teams even though they have a true frosh QB (name another true frosh QB not named Jamelle Holieway or Trevor Lawrence in the last 40 years who ever took their team to the promised land?) and freshman all over the field.

The 3 losses?

at Oklahoma (CFP #8 seed)
at USC (9-3) and just outside playoff field
vs Ohio State (CFB #2 seed)

I am trying to get to the root of why you think he was not up to the task when the UM brass clearly thought otherwise until this scandal broke.

All things considered, the team had a very good season.

Well said. Moore has done everything asked of him, and then some. Yes, Michigan won a title 2 years ago. But, Michigan isn’t an elite tier 1 football program to the level of tier 1 programs such as Alabama, Ohio St, Georgia etc… Michigan is a very good football program, and Moore has done a very good job with them…particularly with the mess he inherited.

Agree.

and the sport is better when they are elite but 1997 to 2023 is a very long time.

the great Bo coached when stockpiling talent was so much easier than the parity of today but he could never get a natty even once, while Woody got multiple.

It absolutely should be the #1 school in the country. Anything less is a failure. And it’s already passed the Saban less Tide with a ship and a blowout over them last year.

Moore was in over his head but was filling the DEI card coming off the JH mess. His offense sucked.

DEI lives in your head as much as Mango Mussolini lives in mine

Michigan is absolutely a tier one program with all the resources to challenge Ohio State and anyone else in the country which was on full display when Harbaugh was there. The mistake was hiring Moore who was a mediocre coordinator to replace Harbaugh. As I have said Michigan is not a first head job for anyone especially if the guy is not an elite coordinator.

Impossible to be a tier 1 in both CBB and NCAAF other than random outliers like Florida early in the decade

Can't be all in on football without sacrificing basketball and vice versa. Michigan is currently a basketball school.

They’re the best college basketball team of all this year but I think that will boost the football program which is regarded as the best in history.

Insanely difficult to be the best at both at the same time unless history is your enemy

It can happen for a minute though

DEI. Retard. Insert your favorite word. Smear the queer. It’s all back baby.
Fucking blows but it's what's expected these days

Call a retarded person a retard when I'm around and it ain't gonna be pretty. Genuine decency got murked by losers classifying it as politically correct. Fucking cunts.

I don’t even associate disabled peoples with the term retard. Moore though is a retard. I feel bad for him sort of though despite it being all his own doing.

Yeah I'm really empathetic to those with mental health issues but it can't just be a fall back. Gotta own it. Accept the deficiency and attack life from there. Not like it's going away but you still have the choice to not let it destroy other people.

This one involves stalking. I'd like to think regardless of your mental health you would seek help before you think stalking is the answer. It's basically terrorism.

Why would you feel bad for him save your sympathy for his wife and kids.

I must be totally out of touch because I had never heard of “smear the queer” till last night.
It literally involved throwing the ball to someone you hate then the entire team destroyed him. That was grade school.

I'm still not really sure what role the receiving team played other than the queer throwing it to someone he hated

For us it wasn't someone hated, just the next poor sap that was going to get destroyed by 10 to 15 angry 7th graders. 😂

I lived on gravel road Iowa and we played neighborhood backyard football every sunday where one sideline was trees. This wasn't two hand touch. But when we played smear there were some next level tree tackles. Obviously before concussions were a talking point but it's amazing none of us ended up needing an emergency chopper.

Side note on that one: neighbor's younger brother had a puppy named Pete Rose because he always slid head first on the slip 'n slide

It’s that or getting packed out
Every kid should should go through it
white black brown Yag straight

Head v tree
head v ground
head v rock
head v mailbox

It all happened and docs didn't even think of requesting a CT scan back then because no one remotely knew

Get out of here. You put Michigan with Ohio State, Georgia and Alabama as Tier 1 football programs!? Harbaugh isn’t there, and this isn’t 2023.

Come on. Michigan isn’t in that conversation.

Michigan is Tier 2 with Oregon, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, LSU, and Clemson. These teams are all very successful, amazing programs. But they aren’t tier 1.

After some details of the arrest were released I don't see him doing any time. I'd love to try a case like this. At worst I could get a plea to minor charge, put him in a diversion program, and the charges would be erased in a year. The one thing I haven't seen clarified is whether the girl was touched or put in fear in any way when he entered the house. If not, then this case is a lawyer's dream

For one thing, going into criminal court with a defendant who has a clean record and has always had a job is so rare the system gives him every benefit. And the fact he entered the house through an unlocked door instead of "breaking and entering" makes it just another case where a guy humiliated himself and ruined his life over a woman.

I'd also love to have the civil case against the University challenging whether they had the right to fire him for cause and, if they did, whether they followed the law, the procedures of the university, and the wording of the contract. I've never heard of a case where a bunch of academic bureaucrats followed proper procedure for terminating someone. I might not get the firing reversed, but as soon as I started spreading subpoenas and giving them a taste of what a deposition is like and turning investigators loose they would make a nice fat settlement offer

I remember it outside during recess in elementary school. We called it kill ball. Don;'t remember it in middle school. I have no idea if we had recess in middle school. What a blur of years.

What's funny after I chewed on it overnight...to explain it to someone who doesn't know would be like saying think rugby or Aussie rules football with no organization. But you already know they don't think rugby or Aussie Ball is organized to begin with.
More like Royal Rumble with no cage but a football

I played the same game growing up and my buddies and I also played the same way with basketball. We for some reason called it "Russian Basketball" lol. Every man for himself but you'd try to make a bucket. Make it and you get it back and get pummeled again. I miss those days.

Alabama is making a strong case to do both. A FF and and EE over the last 2 seasons, #1 overall seed the year before. Ranked in the top 12 currently with a chance to knock off #1 tonight

Yeah there will always be outliers but it's virtually impossible to sustain without choosing one for the long haul

Blowout? It was 19-13. And it was an OT game in the Rose Bowl on 1/1 with the worst QB we've had since McElroy. I agree that Michigan should be a tier 1 job, but choose any time frame you want in the AP era, and I don't think you can come to the conclusion that Michigan is the better program, outside of maybe the 90s and early 2000s

I think it can be done if you get the right people in place and you make enough of a commitment. Alabama will never spend like Kentucky on basketball, but we've been the better program over the last 5 seasons. Ours is probably coach dependent, so when Nate leaves, it will be tough to maintain
