Sherrone Fired

Why can't this happen to Aaron Glenn and Woody Johnson. If I was a Michigan fan I'd be thrilled to be rid of this coach.

I'm just searching twitter so who knows if any of this is true. Had to be something other than just banging some broad to get him arrested though.

Definitely but any coach thats married is getting fired for knocking up a staffer.

That's what I saw. I'm still calling BS unless I see it from a credible source.

What's with football coaches in state of Michigan. My lord throwing away tens of millions of $ AND a great fun career for a cute girl. If that's what you want to do get a divorce and date correctly. With that wealth u can pretty much do what u want. Look at BB. He's catching a ton of shit but at least he's doing it with transparency. So fucking dumb.

I was 50 50 on him. Thought next year 3 was going to be his make it or break it year

Next up - Bobby Petrino - Hugh Freeze .....ART BRILES?
>> too bad Dave Bliss doesn't coach football, (might be dead too)

Simple wiki shows his post Baylor time was was quite lucrative 🤣

Guy was the Energizer Bunny of institutional corruption, Tark woulda been jealous

'DISGRACED' is a Showtime documentary about him at Baylor -(covered up a MURDER of one of his players - by framing him as a drug dealer, as to not make himself/team look so bad). Easily the biggest POS ever.

Oh I'm well aware of everything Baylor between Bliss and Briles and everything in between as many on this board well know my disdain for that institution. I'm much more CBB than CFB so it was a massive deal and so, so criminal. I don't know whether to laugh or be pissed at what he was able to still be allowed to do after the cover up. I have never seen the Disgraced doc but going to try to find it somehow. Hope it doesn't make the blood boil. Bliss, Briles, Baylor. Three B's that should be excommunicated from the NCAA. Makes what SMU did look like a day at the state fair.

I feel like he is a good coach.
@Brewers888

Are you saying that UM was unwise selecting him as interim hc in 2023 while JH was suspended ? Then hiring him to replace JH? Their decision makers were wrong ?

SM inherited a 2024 UM squad gutted by attrition from the 2023 team and he won 7 reg season games then the bowl game. 8 wins. Also beat tOSU last year.

This year improves to 9 win regular season despite a true frosh qb and several frosh on offense.

I think he was on his way to being a good coach.

All around a very sad story.

As always,

Let the dust settle.

As I said in a previous post, the rumors of an alleged affair with a staffer have been out there for a bit. To be honest I was wondering if that was just something from a rival because nothing had really happened.

Last week someone in the know sort of posted a "what if" of coaches to take over if Sherrone was to be let go. That was basically a hint that something could be going down. At that time, my opinion was next year was a do or die. Not so much record wise, but he needed to coexist with the staff better (bad chemistry with the OC this year for example -- plus with Wink) and make the playoffs.

Anyways...

From UM message boards it seems like something came to a head in the last day or two that made this HAVE to happen.

From deeper sources, don't be surprised if the AD is fired. This would be a joyous day for the Michigan message board fans lol. They hate Warde!

The donor money was stopping, due to the Sherrone issue. Money talks. That jives with some stories last weekend that NIL was drying up etc.

Anyways, the guy is a piece of trash. I feel for the wife n kids. I know this goes on at half the colleges, but these guys never learn, do they? I hope he gets some help for himself, because if the suicide/knife/etc story is true -- God help him.

Long run, this could be a giant blessing in disguise. Moore is gone and Warde is potentially fired. Hell yeah!

Now, flashback a few years. You can ask Hunt and I who we both wanted after Jim left. During that playoff we mentioned a few times it was Kalen DeBoer. Well, Saban loses to UM and retires within 7-10 days. Boom, Kalen is quickly off the board. Jim leaves during the cycle and frankly there wasn't much of an option for Michigan other than continuity...

Enter Sherrone. As I said at the time, I wish Sherrone had the opportunity to go to a middle of the pack school and learn how to coach. THEN, potentially come back. His career was fast forwarded due to need at the time. Anyways, that doesn't matter now as he'll never coach again at a top level.

So, we're basically back to the next hire after Jim. This is a big one, and with potential uncertainty in the AD, this could be interesting. Or, maybe they have already worked on it? Dunno. Some of the story still needs to be filled in.

Fwiw, pretty well connected source says Mrs DeBoer hates Tuscaloosa. Another source indicated that KD, Dillingham and Drinkwitz camps have all reached out tonight.

Shall see.

Sorry for a late response in here -- life first today and no need to jump to every conclusion just yet. There's still a few things fo surface I'm sure. I think this could be a terrific blessing when all said in done for the athletic department and football team.

Gun to head, I think it's Kalen as coach.

If they have to rush things, I can see Jedd Fisch.

That's all I have.

This all sets up well for Bama getting embarrassed vs OU, enraging the fans and boosters, leading to the perfect escape to UM for KD…..

imagine getting a job that's way better than what you're qualified for, you're making millions, and you throw it away for some strange. Going to need to see some pics of this broad.

Men do dumb shit like this all the time, pathetically.
We had a higher up throw his life away a few years back when he started sexting a 16 yr old.
Had a beautiful wife, 2 kids , was probably making $175k+.

I don't know if they'll offer DeBoer, if he'll listen, or what, but the rumors out there of the family being unhappy and the wife hating Tuscaloosa are not true. At least according to someone who knows them personally. Take it FWIW. I guess they could be lying, but I'd be surprised if KDB left especially with the uncertainty at AD.

That could be agent talk, no doubt.

With that being said, his agent did call...

What the coach did OFF the field is a tragedy. The string of events is tragic.

Emotions can take hold of a person and it can lead them down a terrible path.

As it relates to his coaching ability and his criticism by @Brewers888 or anyone else whose criticism I may have missed, I am trying to understand it.

The school is basically on probation since JH left after the 2023 championship year.

8 wins last year. (7 + bowl)

9 reg season wins this year. Beat some decent teams even though they have a true frosh QB (name another true frosh QB not named Jamelle Holieway or Trevor Lawrence in the last 40 years who ever took their team to the promised land?) and freshman all over the field.

The 3 losses?

at Oklahoma (CFP #8 seed)
at USC (9-3) and just outside playoff field
vs Ohio State (CFB #2 seed)

I am trying to get to the root of why you think he was not up to the task when the UM brass clearly thought otherwise until this scandal broke.

All things considered, the team had a very good season.

Jumbotron Coldplay concert CEO and another Leader caught on camera.

This can happen to anyone. Anyone.

Emotions take over and it can take on a life of its own.

Lack of accountability is a thing. He made a bad choice, which resulted in a bad outcome. Instead of taking accountability, he blamed her. He probably gave a dozen speeches to his players/team about accountability but he couldn't do it for himself.

I agree.

That is different than some people thinking he did not deserve the job or was not capable.

If we are talking lack of accountability and things of this nature off the field, then Bobby Petrino and Mike Price come to mind immediately.

So many others, too.........
