Rivals / Orangebloods Reporting Mack Brown Will Resign

The only thing I will say in favor of Strong is that his kids always play hard for him. I agree that he is a bit behind the learning curve about where the game is headed ( probably a reason I like him a little ), though.

Tired of the Horns playing like wusses all the time until they get to the nfl and get toughened up ... and then I get to watch them dominate against other nfl players while they struggled to get physical against inferior athletes in college. Just frustrating.

LOL at Will Muschamp on that list.

Chip Kelly's odds are way too favorable IMO. No way he leaves.

Malzahn would obviously be a fantastic hire, even though he might be tempted to entertain it, I can't see him leaving after playing in the NC game in his first year at AU. Timing isn't right.

Briles is the best option of the realistic choices on that list for Texas. I heard there was some bad blood with him and UT, but not sure if that was credible or pure speculation. I wonder how UT people would feel about hiring the Baylor coach.

Franklin would be a better hire than Strong IMO.

Briles deal was with Brown, not with Texas as a whole. Briles didn't like Brown (privately) crowing that he owned the high school coaches in Texas of late, when in fact it was Briles over the last few years plus all of Briles initial blood and sweat was coaching in the Texas high school ranks. We could do a lot worse. The Texas fan base loves Briles as a whole.

Damn sure better not end up with Franklin.

Maybe Jerry Sizemore should be coach.
Is he even alive?
Tommy Nobis?

I've drank a couple times with James Franklin at the bars when he was OC at K-State 6 years ago or so. He liked to go out and party with some of the ladies that worked with the football team (one of them being my friend)

Franklin should not happen. And charlie strong is just waiting for florida to call back. jimbo, gus, chip, any harbaugh, or tomlin are out of touch with reality. i even think briles is a reach. art briles is a deeply grounded man. if he bounces to texas before he gets to play in that stadium, i'd be surprised.

think mike gundy would be a great hire, but t boone might send out a hit squad if he ever leaves stillwater.

I want to get past Gundy and that coaching job in the latest Bedlam game. But I struggle, as it was an abysmal job. The clock management at the end of the 1st half, failure to stop play on the Gilbert pick / no pick, etc. It was just terrible.

bob has had his number, that's for sure. he's just an awesome evaluator of talent, which is something that we haven't had in a long, long time. maybe that's why i've been so keen on him.

I would think that any number of coaches would be able to overcome some of their shortcomings at Texas. So Gundy can't beat OU? What about after 2 years of taking the best the state of Texas has to offer on his team, instead of finding the diamonds in the rough that get passed over or were too big a risk for UT and OU to take? Texas has the resources to have a very quick turnaround. Don't think it will take Saban/Harbaugh/Fisher/Malzahn/Urban to get there either
