P2W 6/7 Belmont Stakes Day - Thoughts For Entire Card

Play2win

Mod by Monday Morning
Still under a few weeks away but this is going to be a huge day of racing, and I'll be there. I'm looking to start putting some of these races together. Belmont Stakes card features 10 stakes races totaling up to $8 Million in purses, and a chance to see history, as California Chrome looks to become 12th Triple Crown winner, first since 1978.

ONE MILE AND ONE SIXTEENTH (TURF)

Unbelievable day of races, looking forward to it. The Phipps and The Met Mile should both be great races. Haven't decided if I am going to go or not.

OH.....MY......GOD.....that is one incredible race card we're going to see.

The Met Mile figures to have last year's Belmont and five time graded stakes winner Palace Malice, reigning Breeders Cup Dirt Mile champ Goldencents, last month's Grade 2 Churchill Downs winner and runner-up Central Banker and Shaking It Up, and last years King's Bishop winner Capo Bastone.

The Ogden Phipps should be a who's-who of older mares: reigning BC Distaff champ Beholder, four time Grade 1 winner Princess of Sylmar, three time Grade 1 winner Close Hatches, and last month's Grade 1 Humana Distaff winner Midnight Lucky.

The Acorn is supposed to feature maybe the best 3 year old of them all, the Kentucky Oaks winner Untapable.

The Longines Just a Game could have Grade 1 winners Discreet Marq, Better Lucky, Centre Court and Hard Not To Like.

And that's just half the stakes races on the card!

Working on trying to be there in person, it's a must see.

Several of the horses who are slated to challenge California Chrome in the 146th running of the Grade 1, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes on June 7 are scheduled to breeze this weekend at Belmont Park.
Robert Evans' Tonalist, a four-length winner of the Grade 2 Peter Pan on May 10 at Belmont, likely will breeze tomorrow at 6 a.m. on the main track, according to trainer Christophe Clement.
"Tomorrow or Sunday, most likely tomorrow," said Clement. "First set, only if the track is good. If not, we'll wait until the next day."
Tentatively scheduled to breeze on Sunday are Wicked Strong, Samraat, Commissioner, and Intense Holiday.
Centennial Farms' Wicked Strong won the Grade 1 TwinSpires.com Wood Memorial in April at Aqueduct Racetrack before finishing fourth in the Kentucky Derby. Jerkens said Wicked Strong probably will make his next breeze on Belmont's training track.
"He'll probably go Sunday, but I don't know how far," said Jerkens. "I have to think it over, but most likely on Sunday."
Samraat, a My Meadowview Farm homebred, has finished one spot behind Wicked Strong in his past two starts, reporting home second in the TwinSpires.com Wood Memorial and fifth in the Derby. He is currently based at Aqueduct, but trainer Rick Violette said he is leaning in favor of taking him to Belmont to breeze on Sunday.

Starlight Racing's Intense Holiday was taken out of consideration for theBelmont Stakes (gr. I) after being diagnosed with a condylar fracture following a May 25 workout for the $1.5 million classic.

Following his workout in company with WinStar Farms' Commissioner atBelmont Park, Intense Holiday was walked to the equine ambulance and vanned off the track.

"Intense Holiday has suffered a condylar fracture. He'll undergo surgery but is expected to fully recover," the ownership group said via Twitter @StarlightRacing. "Thanks for your thoughts, and prayers help too."

A son of Harlan's Holiday who won the Risen Star Stakes (gr. II), Intense Holiday was coming into the June 7 Belmont off a 12th in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).
The Todd Pletcher-trained pair of Commissioner and Intense Holiday were timed in 1:00.77 for five furlongs.
According to Pletcher, Intense Holiday injured his right foreleg and will undergo surgery to repair the injury.

"It's not life-threatening, and I don't think it's career-ending," said Pletcher. "It's particularly frustrating because after the Derby we ran (all the tests) and everything indicated he was healthy and ready to move forward. It's unfortunate."
Pletcher said Commissioner, a 1 1/8-mile maiden winner last summer at Saratoga Race Course, would not have difficulty negotiating the 1 1/2-mile Belmont.
"I thought Commissioner breezed very well," said Pletcher of the Peter Pan (gr. II) runner-up. "He was traveling well throughout and was willing; he seemed to be getting over the surface well and wrapped up good. He did everything you hoped he would do.

"I think the longer he goes, the better he will get," he added. "We've always felt he was all A.P. Indy and the further he goes, the better. We're looking forward to the distance."

Also working at Belmont Park May 25 were Centennial Farms' Wicked Strong and Samraat, the respective winner and second-place finisher in the Twinspires.com Wood Memorial (gr. I).
With exercise rider Kelvin Pahal aboard, Wicked Strong went a good mile in 1:39.59 over the Belmont training track for trainer James Jerkens. Clockers timed the son of Hard Spun in fractions of :13.44, :25.41, :49.87, 1:02.41, 1:14.30, and 1:26.59, with a gallop out time of 1:55.22 for 1 1/8 miles.
"I thought it was good. A nice, good stamina work," said Jerkens.
Wicked Strong ran fourth in the Kentucky Derby.
The trainer added that Wicked Strong will work again next weekend and then could have a blow out the week of the Belmont Stakes.

"It's what got him here, so we figured we wouldn't change the format," said Jerkens. "He worked last week; he worked faster than I wanted. He was a little too edgy, so we decided we'd keep him (on the training track) and work him two turns just to simmer him down a little bit.
"He went nice and easy the first part and finished up nicely (today), I thought."
My Meadowview's Samraat, shipped to Belmont Park from trainer Rick Violette's base at Aqueduct Racetrack, breezed a mile on the main track in 1:41.28. Winner of the Withers (gr. III) and Gotham Stakes (gr. III), he was fifth in the Kentucky Derby last time out.
The son of Noble Causeway was undefeated through his first five starts before finishing second to Wicked Strong in the Wood Memorial before contesting the Derby.
"It was terrific, exactly what we wanted," said Violette. "He made a long sustained run around the turn and straight through the wire. He ran his last three-eighths in :36 flat and cooled out like he was King Kong."

The breeze was intended to be his final serious piece of work before the Belmont Stakes, according to Violette.

"Saturday would be the right day, or Sunday, we'll watch the weather next week," said the trainer. "It will just be an exercise to blow off a little steam and let him feel really good."
Social Inclusion was scheduled to arrive in barn 5 at Belmont Park on Sunday afternoon, with his connections eyeing either a start in the Belmont Stakes or the seven-furlong Woody Stephens (gr. II) for 3-year-olds on the June 7 undercard.

Assistant trainer Alan Sherman declared "all systems go" for Triple Crown contender California Chrome after watching the 3-year-old colt gallop two miles at Belmont Park shortly after 6 a.m. (EDT) May 26.

Alan Sherman, who assists his 77-year-old father Art, is overseeing the training of California Chrome as the California-bred son of Lucky Pulpit prepares for a possible date with history in the June 7, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes (gr. I). A Belmont victory, coupled with previous triumphs in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) andPreakness Stakes (gr. I) would make Chrome the 12th horse to sweep the three races and the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978.

"The track was a little deeper today but he got over it fine," Sherman said. "All systems go."

Since Affirmed's win, 11 horses have tried unsuccessfully to complete the sweep; in 2012, I'll Have Another won the Derby and Preakness but was scratched from the Belmont the week of the race due to an injury.

"First off, I'd like to thank the veterans of our armed forces (and) the men and women currently serving in the armed forces for making this country the best country in the world," Sherman said as he began aMemorial Day press briefing following the gallop.

Asked about his anxiety level as the Belmont draws closer, Sherman said he anticipated butterflies to set in a couple of days before the race.

"I think two or three days before the race I'll start getting anxious," he said. "Right now, as long as he's training fine, I'm doing fine."

Sherman said he keeps his father, who returned to his base at Los Alamitos in Orange County, Calif. after the Preakness, apprised of California Chrome's progress via daily telephone calls, usually before 5 a.m. Pacific time and usually quite brief.

"I told him the horse was great," he said.

Although the handsome chestnut colt is not weighed, California Chrome definitely has added some pounds since the Preakness, he said.

"We measure his girth," Sherman said, who also revealed California Chrome wears a standard size 6 horseshoe. "Before the Derby it was 71 inches; before the Preakness is was 71 inches. Now he's 72 inches."

The assistant trainer clearly has been enjoying every minute of the Triple Crown, but he did admit the five-week span between the May 3 Derby and the June 7 Belmont can be tiring for horses and humans; he is planning a fishing trip to Alaska later this month.

"It's a great ride," he said. "Back home (in California) the people have all been really excited and it's been great for Los Alamitos to have this horse stabled there. I'm not looking for this to be over. But me and the horse could probably use a rest."

ARCADIA, Calif. – Beholder, prepping for a star-studded showdown with Princess of Sylmar and Close Hatches in the Grade 1, $1 million Ogden Phipps Stakes at Belmont Park on June 7, worked a sharp mile Monday at <nobr>Santa Anita</nobr> and looked so good that trainer Richard Mandella did a giddy jig afterward.
“I think she’s ready,” he said, breaking into a wide smile.
Beholder, a two-time Eclipse Award winner, beat both Princess of Sylmar and Close Hatches in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff last fall at Santa Anita. The Phipps will be the first time they’ve met since then, and the first time Beholder has raced outside of California since finishing second to Princess of Sylmar in last year’s Kentucky Oaks.
Gary Stevens was aboard for the work, which occurred just after a renovation break at 7:30 a.m. Mandella first had Beholder go to the training track to warm up, so as soon as the main track reopened, Beholder came straight down the stretch and went right off into her work, in company with <nobr>Uncharted</nobr> Course, once around from the seven-furlong pole.
Beholder started about three lengths back and was about five lengths in front crossing <nobr>the wire</nobr>, seven furlongs into the work. Mandella caught Beholder in fractions of 38 seconds for the first three furlongs, 1:02.40 for five furlongs, 1:26.80 for seven furlongs, a full mile in “1:38 and change,” then had her going out 1 1/8 miles in “1:53 and change.”
A private clocker, Gary Young, had Beholder in similar splits for seven furlongs and the mile. The official time from the <nobr>track</nobr> clockers was 1:40.20.
“She’s something else,” Stevens said minutes later. “She’s a friggin’ machine. She loves her job.”
Mandella said Beholder was scheduled to be flown to New York on Thursday and would have an easy work next week of about four furlongs at Belmont Park, with Stevens up.
The Phipps is part of a Breeders’ Cup-quality card supporting the Belmont Stakes, in which California Chrome will be attempting to sweep the Triple Crown.
Beholder has won four straight races. In the Distaff, she won by 4 1/4 lengths over Close Hatches, with Princess of Sylmar last of six after a dreadful start.
All three fillies are unbeaten since.
◗ At Belmont on Monday, Close Hatches worked five furlongs in 59.95 seconds over the Belmont Park main track. Close Hatches, working by herself, went a quick three furlongs in 35.41 seconds and came home her final quarter in 24.54.
“She went off strong, she finished, I thought, evenly,” trainer Bill Mott said.
On Sunday, Princess of Sylmar worked five furlongs in 1:01.31 over Belmont’s training track in company with <nobr>Percussion</nobr>.
“She seems to be in very good order,” trainer Todd Pletcher said. “Looks to be a sensational race.”

california-chrome-2.jpg

For the first time since 2008 we head into the Belmont Stakes on the verge of a potential Triple Crown. When trying to find a winner and a road to profit betting on the race, these Belmont trends will help to point you in the right direction:
Triple Crown attempts
History has not been kind to horses attempting to win the Triple Crown since 1978 when it last happened. In other words, California Chrome has a lot of history to overcome to make history.
California Chrome makes an even dozen — he’s the 12th horse to win the Preakness and the Belmont since 1979. Ten of the 11 failed to win the Belmont, and two years ago I’ll Have Another didn’t start in the race. Some have come close — I was sure Real Quiet was going to take the win, and Smarty Jones and Silver Charm looked strong in the stretch as well. For a combination of factors, though — the distance, the pressure, the fact that every horse is out to beat you, the fresher horses, the huge test of racing more in five weeks than horses often race in three months these days, and so on — the previous 10 contenders have not been able to make it all the way.
Free $60 in Member Belmont Picks No Obligation Click Here
I’m confident that we will have another Triple Crown winner — likely more than one — but the failure of some very good horses to get it done shows just how hard it is. And it also shows how big the task in front of California Chrome really is.
Iron horses do not rule
As a horse racing purist, I love few things more than an iron horse — a horse that runs in all three legs of the Triple Crown. That’s how it is supposed to be — the true test. It doesn’t happen very much these days, though, and for good reason — it doesn’t lead to wins in the Belmont.
Afleet Alex in 2005 was the last horse to win the Belmont after running in the first two legs. Last year the iron horses did better than usual — Oxbow was second after his Preakness win, and Orb was third after winning the Derby.
This year there are just two horses looking to earn iron horse status. California Chrome obviously qualifies, and so does Ride On Curlin, who made up for a disappointing Derby thanks to a horrible ride from Calvin Borel to finish a strong second in the Preakness.
Some experience is better than no experience
While running in both prior legs of the Triple Crown has not served horses well in the last decade, horses that have run in at least one prior race have done much better than horses that come into this race without prior Belmont experience.
Last year Palace Malice finished 12th in the Derby, took the Preakness off, and then returned to win the Belmont. That marked the 15th time in the last 20 years that the winner had run at least once in the Derby or Preakness. Another winner, Rags to Riches in 2007, hadn’t run in a previous Triple Crown race, but winning the Kentucky Oaks in front of over 100,000 people the day before the Derby is as close as you can get.
There are a number of reasons to explain this trend — a smaller numberof new invaders than repeat runners many years; horses that haven’t run in a Triple Crown race haven’t run as far as Triple Crown runners, so the distance is less familiar; the horses likely were slow to mature or weren’t talented enough or they would have been entered in the Derby; and so on.
Longshots pay off
When Palace Malice won the Belmont last year he paid $29.60 on a $2 bet to win. While that was a nice price to have, it was actually lower than we have seen several times before in recent years. When Ruler on Ice won the year before at 25/1, it was the seventh time in 17 years that a horse had come in at odds of at least 25/1. Needless to say, that is far beyond expectations and way beyond what we see over the normal course of races. In those same 17 years we have seen just two Belmont favorites win — well under the one-in-three winning rate that favorites have established over the long term in racing.
This is all just another way to say what should be clear by now — this is a very tough race to win and a challenging one to handicap.

[h=1]Met Mile field looks deep[/h]By David Grening

ELMONT, N.Y. – It should be worth the wait.
Though traditionalists were upset with the New York Racing Association’s decision to move the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap from Memorial Day to the June 7 Belmont Stakes card, the race is expected to draw a strong – and potentially large – field.
Of the 18 horses nominated to the $1.25 million race – a Win and You’re In for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile at Santa Anita – 13 are under various levels of consideration. While Palace Malice, the 2013 Belmont Stakes winner, tops the field, there are 10 other graded stakes winners possible.
Alphabetically, those considered definite are Broadway Empire, Capo Bastone, Central Banker, Declan’s Warrior, Goldencents, Moreno, Normandy Invasion, Palace Malice, Romansh, Scarly Charly, and Vyjack. Sahara Sky, last year’s Met Mile winner, and Shakin It Up, the Grade 1 Malibu winner, are both still under consideration.
Al Stall, the trainer of Central Banker, said Tuesday that he is looking forward to another shot at the Met Mile, a race in which he finished fourth in 2009 with My Pal Charlie, who stumbled badly at the break and lost by only 1 1/2 lengths.
“Badly doesn’t begin to describe it,” said Stall, who noted that he couldn’t find his horse for several moments after the break.
In Central Banker, Stall has a horse who, after narrowly missing a few graded stakes victories, broke through with a head win over Shakin It Up in the Grade 2 Churchill Downs on Derby Day. Though Stall said Central Banker ran a really hard race, he feels the horse has moved forward since.
“He’s in serious form,” Stall said. “I know he ran a really hard race at Churchill, and I keep looking to see if he lost anything, but I actually think he’s done better. I don’t see anything that doesn’t look right.”
Central Banker, who will be ridden by Corey Nakatani, worked four furlongs in 48.40 seconds Monday at Churchill Downs.

As Tonalist completes a solid 1 1-4-mile gallop, California Chrome starts into this 2-mile gallop.

California Chrome was back to his slow & steady self in his two-mile gallop this a.m. Delgado had firm hold of Chrome coming through lane.

Social Inclusion gallops 1 3-4-miles pretty strongly. Did switch to his left lead nearing the wire.

I didn't post this the other day and should have, so:

David Grening @DRFGrening · May 27

Thought Ride On Curlin looked sensational in a one mile gallop that I timed in 1:51.36 from 7 1-2 fur pole to 1-16th past wire.

David Grening @DRFGrening · May 27

Gowan on Curlin's gallop: "He needed that. He won't need much more after that." Plans one "official" breeze over weekend.

David Grening @DRFGrening · May 27

For clarity on Ride On Curlin's training. He galloped 2 miles but went a "2 minute lick" the second mile.

5/30

Belmont Stakes hopeful Commanding Curve arrived in Elmont, N.Y. early in the afternoon on Thursday and appears in great shape for the June 7, 1 ½-mile "Test of the Champion."
"Everything was good [with shipping in]," said the colt's trainer, DallasStewart. "He's really an easy horse to be around and can do a lot of things. With every track he's been to, he's handled it well, so Belmont should be no different."
Commanding Curve has not raced since finishing second in the Kentucky Derby, when he was beaten 1 ¾ lengths by California Chrome. The son of Master Command will get an opportunity to work over the Belmont main track on Sunday, going either four or five furlongs, according to Stewart.

The champion 3-year-old filly of 2013, Beholder, arrived at Belmont Park on Thursday. The daughter of Henny Hughes concluded her Eclipse Award-winning season with a win in the Breeders' Cup Distaff and is pointing towards the Grade 1, $1 million Ogden Phipps on Belmont Stakes Day. She has raced just once in 2014, taking the Santa Lucia by 5 ¼ lengths on April 20 at Santa Anita Park.
"She shipped in great shape," said Beholder's trainer, Dick Mandella. "My good friend Tom Bush is taking care of her. She went to the track to have a nice gallop [Friday morning] and will do the same tomorrow. We'll give her a breeze at some point next week."
The Ogden Phipps is shaping up to be one of the most talented races on the Belmont Stakes undercard, as Princess of Sylmar and Close Hatches are likely to join Beholder in the starting gate. When asked why the talented filly is shipping east to face such a salty field, Mandella said, "a million dollars."

Breeders' Cup Mile winner Goldencents was also among the talented band of horses to ship into Belmont Park on Thursday. The 4-year-old colt is targeting the Grade 1, $1.25 million Metropolitan Handicap.
"He shipped in great," said Doug O'Neill, trainer of Goldencents. "He jogged today and will gallop tomorrow. As we stand right now, he won't have a work, we're just going to gallop him into the race."
Goldencents has not raced since finishing seventh in the 2013 edition of the Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap, but O'Neill is confident his trainee is ready to face the star-studded Met Mile lineup.
"We couldn't be happier with his condition," said O'Neill. "[The Met Mile] is a perfect layout for him and obviously the purse is huge; we're really excited."

Kid Cruz remains possible for the Belmont Stakes after breezing six furlongs in 1:14.53 on Friday morning for trainer Linda Rice. The Lemon Drop Kid colt was claimed for $50,000 in November 2013, and won a pair of stakes races in Maryland earlier this year before finishing eighth in the Preakness.
"He worked well," said Rice. "Typically I work him in company; he's the type of horse that's always trained better in company. He worked six furlongs in 1:14 and 3/5. It was OK; we're going to see how he does out of the breeze and then decide if we're going to go on to the Belmont, probably by Sunday."

The Grade 1, $1.25 million Metropolitan Handicap - a one-mile affair traditionally run on Memorial Day - is shaping up to be a phenomenal race, headlined by last year's Belmont Stakes winner Palace Malice.
Palace Malice, trained by Todd Pletcher for Cot Campbell's Dogwood Stable, has won all three of his starts in 2014. The son of Curlin commenced his year in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Handicap, which he won by a head, and followed that victory up with wins in the Grade 2 New Orleans Handicap and Grade 3 Westchester.
Breeders' Cup Mile winner Goldencents is likely to join Palace Malice in the starting gate for the Met Mile. The 4-year-old colt is unraced since a seventh-place finish in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap. In 2013, the son of Into Mischief captured the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby, and was among the favorites for the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby. He was also plagued by a string of runner-up finishes - including seconds in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby, Grade 2 Pat O'Brien, and Grade 1 Santa Anita Sprint Championship - before breaking through in the Breeders' Cup Mile.
The star-studded field is also likely to include Broadway Empire, Capo Bastone, Central Banker, Clearly Now,Declan's Warrior, Moreno, Normandy Invasion, Romansh, Shakin It Up and Vyjack.

The Grade 1, $1 million Ogden Phipps is likely to feature three finalists from the 2013 Eclipse Award's 3-Year-Old Filly division, including the winner, Beholder.
Beholder, trained by Dick Mandella for Spendthrift Farm, won five of seven starts in 2013, capping her year with a triumph in the Breeders' Cup Distaff. She also captured three other Grade 1's: the Las Virgenes, the Santa Anita Oaks, and the Zenyatta, and finished second in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks. Beholder won the Santa Lucia by 5 ¼ lengths at Santa Anita Park to kick off her 2014 campaign.
Last year's Kentucky Oaks winner, Princess of Sylmar, is also likely to be a part of the Ogden Phipps field. The daughter of Majestic Warrior rattled off four Grade 1 wins in a row in 2013: the Kentucky Oaks, the Coaching Club American Oaks, the Alabama, and the Beldame. Her year culminated with a start in the Breeders' Cup Distaff, but she ran an uncharacteristically dull race and finished sixth.
Close Hatches, trained by Bill Mott for Juddmonte Farms, is also expected to join the fray. She won two Grade 1's in 2013: the Mother Goose and the Cotillion, and has already won two graded stakes in 2014, including a win in the Grade 1 Apple Blossom.
Classic Point and My Wandy's Girl are likely to start, as well, while Belle Gallantey and Lunar Surge are possible.

The Grade 1, $1 million Knob Creek Manhattan is shaping up to be a big field of older male turf runners, featuring 2012 Breeders' Cup Turf hero Little Mike.
Little Mike, formerly trained by Dale Romans, is now in the barn of Carlo Vaccarezza. In 2013, the son of Spanish Steps won only one race - the Grade 1 Turf Classic Invitational - and contested the Breeders' Cup Turf and the Longines Hong Kong Cup. He has raced only once in 2014, taking the Flying Pidgeon at Gulfstream Park by 2 ¾ lengths.
Imagining, who became a Grade 1 winner in his last start in the Man o' War, is also likely to contest the Manhattan. Trained by Shug McGaughey for Phipps Stable, the 6-year-old son of Giant's Causeway has won eight of 16 lifetime starts, and is four for six since adding blinkers in August of last year.
Seek Again, who came within a head of defeating reigning Horse of the Year Wise Dan in his last start, appears set to join the field. His narrow defeat, which came in the Grade 1 Turf Classic at Churchill Downs, was his first start in 2014, and only his second North American outing.
Also likely for the race are Amira's Prince, Finnegans Wake, Five Iron, Grandeur, Hey Leroy, Kaigun and Real Solution. Boisterous, Rookie Sensation, and Speaking of Which are possible.

The Grade 1, $750,000 Longines Just A Game is likely to boast a deep, competitive field of filly and mare turf runners.
Trained by Christophe Clement for Patricia Generazio, Discreet Marq, who worked five furlongs in 1:00.62 Friday, leads the probables for the one-mile race. The 4-year-old daughter of Discreet Cat made her 2014 debut in the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley, in which she finished second behind another likely Just A Game starter, Hard Not to Like. Her 2013 campaign featured a win in the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks, as well as second-place finishes in the Grade 1 Garden City and Grade 1 Matriarch.
Also exiting the Jenny Wiley and likely for the Just A Game is last year's winner, Stephanie's Kitten. The 5-year-old mare finished eighth in the Jenny Wiley in her 2014 debut; she had been off since July 27 when she finished third in the Grade 1 Diana at Saratoga Race Course.
The runner-up from last year's Just A Game, Better Lucky, is probable to enter the starting gate again this year. Trained by Tom Albertrani for Godolphin Stable, the 5-year-old Ghostzapper mare has won a pair of Grade 1's in her career: the 2013 edition of the First Lady and the 2012 edition of the Matriarch.
Others likely for the Just A Game are Coffee Clique, Dame Marie, Filimbi, Hard Not to Like, Somali Lemonade,Strathnaver and Waterway Run. Ready Signal and Unlimited Budget are possible.

The Grade 1, $750,000 TVG Acorn is likely to feature the second and third-place finishers from the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks.
My Miss Sophia, who finished second behind Untapable in the 1 1/8-mile Kentucky Oaks, is set to turn back to a mile in the Acorn. The last time the daughter of Unbridled's song went a mile, she took a maiden race at Gulfstream Park by 11 lengths.
Unbridled Forever, third-place finisher in the Kentucky Oaks, has shown an affinity for one-turn racing. The daughter of Unbridled Song broke her maiden by 5 ¼ lengths at Churchill Downs, running seven furlongs in an eye-catching 1:21.91 seconds.
The field is also likely to include Aqua Regia, Artemis Agrotera, Fashion Plate, Fifyshadesofgold, House Rules,Lady Paradime, Our Amazing Rose, Sweet Reason, Sweet Whiskey and Vero Amore. La Madrina, Risque Reality, and She's a Tiger are possible.

Took a quick glance @ Penn National card, likely won't get involved but there is an all stakes pick 4 to kick off their best card of the year..

R1: Penn Oaks: #4 Aurelia's Belle (6-1 ML) may take to turf, 2 for 2 on synth and #7 Famous Alice ships in from west coast for Proctor and Stevens.

R2: Penn Gov Cup: I like two possible prices in here, both 8-1 ML, #9 Sensible Lady and #11 Great Attack.

R3: Mountainview Hcp: #4 Last Gunfighter

R4: Penn Mile: #1 Global View

Didn't spend anytime looking at Santa Anita's G1 American Oaks but figured #8 Room Service would be tough at a short price, 2-1 ML

May give a look at Belmont Card, will post if i see anything

Oh SHITTTTTTTTTTT

what rock have i been under, 1st time turf for Sanctify today, will be rooting, BOL Lloyd.

Since 2000, seven winners of the Belmont Stakes have lost the Kentucky Derby, skipped the Preakness Stakes and then won the Belmont Stakes.
Which means that maybe horse players should give a second look to four prospectivestarters in the Belmont on June 7: Commanding Curve (second in the Derby), Wicked Strong (fourth); Samraat (fifth); and Medal Count (eighth).
Well-rested and trained specifically for the Belmont, they could be the strongest challengers to California Chrome’s historic bid for the Triple Crown.
Marty McGee of the Daily Racing Form says his research shows that the lose-skip-win Triple Crown race pattern never happened before 2000, so it boasts a 50 percent success rate.
That's a strong trend.
After Commendable showed the way in 2000, the others were Empire Maker (2003), Birdstone (2004), Jazil (2006), Summer Bird (2009), Union Rags (2012), and Palace Malice (2013).
Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas, who won the Belmont with Commendable, said via DRF that “probably the biggest factor in your favor is you get to train your horse into the Belmont, as opposed to tweaking or adjusting or fine-tuning, whatever you want to call it. You get back into the kind of rhythm you’d like to have going into any other race.
“If you’re training horses, time is your ally. Always has been, always will be. The Triple Crown puts a lot of pressure on trainers and horses because you’re going for the record books and doing things you might not do otherwise. The really good horses seem to benefit from more time. It’s really important for most of them.”
Trainer Dale Romans, who will run Medal Count in the Belmont, didn’t jump on the bandwagon.
“I don’t like having pat answers for a general concept like this, and I don’t thinkrunning three times in five weeks like the Derby winner is doing is that big a deal,” he told DRF. “It’s been done before – quite a bit, actually. But you see how some of these Derby horses have done skipping the Preakness and running back in New York, and you think, yeah, maybe there’s something to it.”
Added Lukas: “That’s what makes a Triple Crown winner so special, that they can overcome so much, whereas the other trainers and horses have these other options at their disposal.”
