I love the Browns, but there's very little way they're even going to the playoffs next year if they don't get that defensive front straightened out.

Now, the Eagles at 45/1, there's something a Joe might take a bite of.

Tell you who I'll stay far away from: Dallas, NYG, Chicago, NO--basically that whole pack right from NO through Denver. Yuck.

SD is interesting.

I also wouldn't be shocked to see Indy get back there in Dungy's final year, and I won't be surprised if Seattle makes a run at the NFC Championship in Holmgren's last year.

if nawlins sures up that d i think they could be special. 25.5 to 1 at greek atm.

But their entire defense is a problem. I mean, their secondary sucks, but it's not like their front seven scares anybody. I also think losing Joe Horn hurt them. Nobody fears any of their receivers now so they don't give them any respect which kills Brees because he's less of a guy who's going to beat you downfield. He needs guys to get some cushion so he can kill you underneath.

Nothing about NO works for me right now, really.

Im personally insulted by the Eagles being 45/1

They were 30/1 in the offseason last year, so I'm not.

Besides, objectively--meaning on paper--the Eagles suck right now. Now, you and I know better, but on paper, that's an 8-8 team that's sitting home come playoff time.

Oh, and besides, I'd rather get better odds than worse.

You don't think I'll put $50 or so on 45/1 just for the hell of it? Tasty.

Especially when, if things do start going right, those odds will fall through the floor and hit single digits pretty quick.

the nfl has changed a lot in what ive seen this year. you can get by on offense alone like you couldnt have in past. you sure up a below average defense to average i think you can contend in this league. its so hard to defend with the current rules favoring offense.

I like GB next year to win some games, maybe a lot of games. It'll be tough because their spreads will likely suck and other teams will see them coming, but they've got a very good young team, solid on the O-line, and if Farve stays within himself they're going to be hard to defend.

browns will be even money by kickoff of next season

Please tell me you brought enough for the whole forum. Because I've got some french bread pizzas in the freezer that are just aching to be downed in a haze of bong smoke.

i hope someone got my joke

but seriously. they'll probably be like -1800 by kickoff of week 1

i put 5 bucks ( hehe ) on the vikings at 40-1 at the palms. Figure they are just a qb acquisition away from being pretty damn legit in the nfc. or who knows .. maybe the young kid develops. the rb and o line are set .... and the defense is pretty darn good. so just need some receiving and someone to get the receivers the ball. worth 40-1 speculation i think anyway.

40:1 at Sportsbook, and already locked myself in for 2 units on the Saints two days ago. Drafting 10th and they've got money under the cap to spend on Jason David's replacement.

This is what i was looking for: teams who placed third in their division but underachieved this year. With a 3rd place schedule, they should be able to rebound for the playoffs. Plus, an NFC team that fits this criteria would be a bonus.... helloooooooooooooooo Saints. Weak schedule, weak division, weak conference, plenty of room to hedge at 40:1 if they reach the playoffs.

I actually think the Packers are the most sure thing to go the Super Bowl of course as long as Favre comes back. That defense will have everyone back except for Corey Williams and with how young it is they are going to do nothing but improve. I think they will be drafting a CB in the 1st round to help ease the transition of Al Harris especially after what did Plax did to him. And that offense with Jennings, Jones, Driver, and Robinson looks like something special.

I'd short sell the Pats. I think they're in for a freefall. God knows what kind of malfeasance get discovered in this offseason, and that loss was pretty devastating. If I could get under 12 wins, I'd take it. Even better though, I'd like odds of them not making the playoffs at something like 5 to 1 or more.

id wait till midseason. gotta think they drop 3 or 4 next year don't we ...

I was being sarcastic when I posted that, as I would not consider a futures bet on next niffel season when MLB has yet to begin and NBA is just approaching the half-way mark.

... too much talent, too good of coaching, and I think nothing materializes of this new "spygate" gossip circulating. Some senator wants to get his nose involved in the NFL's business now (he needs to fuck off - freaking govt wants to have a hand in everything) and Goddell already said the infamous "lack of credible sources/leads" regarding the "NE taped StL's final walkthrough before SB36" story. Goddell speaks of "lack of credible sources" when it's a dead story - that was his statement when talks began of other teams taping opponent's signals and that was his statement yesterday when speaking in Hawii. The public hates Belichick so much that they view this as the perfect time to kick him while he's down. Also, you mention taking a bet on NE under 12 wins, but chances are 12-4 or 11-5 is a playoff team. Anytime NE gets to the playoffs under Belichick, they are a threat to every team... ask Oakland, San Diego, Jacksonville, Carolina, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and Indianapolis fans.

Oh yeah, 10 wins probably makes the playoffs, they'd just be 2 different wagers. The under 12 just being a safer bet, obviously. But, I understand they're favored to make the playoffs (hence the 5 to 1 odds against it), but I'd take that action based on my feel for teams like this.

Imo, they'll have a bigger target on their backs than the Giants; no doubt in my mind. The biggest problem with a wager like that is that they're in possibly the worst division in football and somebody HAS to make the playoffs out of the 4. But, with that said, I can see Buffalo being the one team that makes it out of that division... Unlikely, sure, but it's possible.

well, the Giants at 12/1 odds and being ranked with a better chance of getting to the Bowl than Pitt and Seattle says alot.. finally getting some respect...

it doesn't seem like anyone here wants to give them much credit (again), but the reality is the Giants have made the playoffs in all 3 of Mannings years as a full-time starter and won the Division in one and the Super Bowl in another... and got to the playoffs in a season that was injury filled...

keep in mind this Giant team is the third youngest team in the league and very talented and can only improve...

plus...

Spagnuolo is sticking around!!..

:smiley_acbe:

12-1 just doesnt do it for me but i do find myself coming around to Goober Manning.
