haha, good picture

look at cole he looks like he wants to bust some heads, he looks the angriest of all of em

One more Smoke !! For me more interested in cashing my Philly series ticket more then anything but would say Philly is the frontrunner to win the WORLD series . Also have TB to win there series about half of Philly play and todays win was gigantic for them . Beating the best Boston has to offer is huge in decisive fashion as well .

BOL

Also no reason to pitch Hamels on short rest . Time and time again it fails it in the playoffs . Sounds silly but 3 days rest in the playoffs is much more draining then the reg season as every pitch usually has alot put behind it . Moyer does look terrible though . JA Happ anyone ?

yeah Moyer looks pretty bad right now...but against a young team like Tampa....those are the kinda teams he does well against...

But im not getting ahead of myself...need Cole to shut them down tomorrow

Finish em while we have the chance

With cole on the mound tomorrow i think its apparent thats manuels mindset as well.

Trying to win this here and now, enjoy plenty of rest and await the winner of TB/bos which could go 7 games....

huge rest advantage for the phills if they close it out tomorrow..... GL

I'm not going to sleep tonight. These kind of moments never happen to my teams and always seem to happen for the teams I least want to have them. I don't what to do with myself right now. Matt Stairs, you are the fucking man.

Tampa should finish Boston off in 5, but will likely take 6.

I personally would save Hamels for game 6 at home now - get all the best arms in the bullpen lined up for that same Game 6, and Philly won't be beaten.

the dodger bullpen really shit the bed tonight. not only did they blow the RL...they blew the freakin' game/ML...and for all intents & purposes, the series. simply unreal.

and i know the RPs are to blame for the pitches they threw/mistakes they made...but having watched it for so long, that was a typical example of Torre mishandling the pen.

but whatever's to blame...that top of the 8th inning was definitely a series changer/deal breaker.

congrats to the Phillie fans.
you now have 3 chances to seal the deal against a demoralized team.

Dude why the fuck did Torre blow it ? I was in shock when he called in Kershaw I didnt get that shit.

Game #1 he leaves Lowe in to long and Lowe gives up 2 homers.

This game he didnt leave Lowe in long enough then he fucks up the pen by taking him out.

I was in shock by his moves 2nite.

i remember last year's series with the tribe. tip (a tribe fan) saw it...and was making fun of torre's handling of the pen.

i don't know why? other than he falls in love with certain relievers, and is stubborn.

imho...if, if you're gonna pull kuo after howard's single...knowing that what wade threw yesterday...why not go to mcdonald...or even broxton there?

that 8th inning prolly jsut lost this series...it was that momentus.

“My whole career, even back in the early days, my approach was try to hit the ball out of the ballpark,” Stairs said. “And it’s something I enjoyed doing. In batting practice, I try to hit every ball out of the ballpark. I’m not going to lie, it’s fun. I try to hit home runs and that’s it. I’m not going to hit a single and steal second base. So I think the biggest thing is to get up there, swing hard and elevate.”

.

BTW, anyone noticed the Dodgers are doing exactly what the Lakers did?

lost game 1 away
lost game 2 away
won game 3 at home
lost game 4 at home
....

As called by the Phillies radio guys:

One more thing about last nights game thats a little ironic...

I dont think Victorino's home run woulda been out at Citizens Bank Park...the walls to high in right

That's a great call.

Dodgers bottled it allright.

They had two men on, nobody out, 5:3 up, and didn't build on that?

Sac bunt and a DP? Or what was it. Two DPs in two innings.

They just bottled it, and it was a great spot for them to tie the series. Congrats Phillies for advancing to the World series. :shake:

one thing I cannot understand. Why giving Kuo the bat if you're gonna take him out after a leadoff single?

He looked unbeatable the inning before and Howard hit him, but why take him out? Disrupt Phillies momentum? You could have done that by coaching visit alone, not necessarily getting Kuo out.

Not saying Kuo would have surely got all the necessary outs but he looked mighty good.

The pitching move that Torre needs to be getting killed for is takin Lowe out after 5 innings when hed only thrown 74 pitches

Not only was it a terrible decision, but it also stretched his pen unnecessarily

Gotta love Manny (sorta, almost) throwing the Dodgers under the bus...

"You said it ... [but] that's in Boston,'' Ramirez responded in answer to a question about his Red Sox's great playoff comebacks "That was a great team."

I think it was tough . You have to feel like after a rough start Lowe did what you want have a lead after 5 innings . Key that they just took the leand and you fear Lowe giving back especially since he struggled in the 6th 1st start @ philly . You cant expect much from guys on short rest at this point especially knowing you could ruin them next time out or next two times out . I think Kuo actually had a shoulder issue leading to him being pulled . Torre sucks managing his bullpen take it from one of the biggest Yankee fans on this site . He needed to have a game plan and dont feel like he really did . Lowe 5 , Park 6 and 7 , Kuo 8 and Broxton 9 ? Just something like that in mind with Beimel the floating situational guy if Park gets in a jam.

What it boils down to is if 100 is the normal number to pull a SP then on 3 days rest its got to be 85 . So the fact he 74 left him in no mans land IMO. Would have pulled Lowe probably as well.

As good as Kershaw was at home and even vs Philly cant see him coming in with just Howard up. Actually Lowe allowed just 3 HRs all season to a LHB so I would have let pitch to Howard and then pull him regardless . Figure he would be at 80 pitches . Dont waste Biemel yet and hope park takes you to the 7th which if you then need Biemel to get Utley so be it . With Kuo and Broxton to finish .

Ive gotta say, throwback Ive heard some pretty bad stories about how Phils fans get treated in the stands over there...

apparently theres alot of thugs from East LA in the stands? Who knew? I thought it was 50,000 celebrities in the stands...
