Enjoy reading the threads and everyone's thoughts on the games this week. Good luck to everyone in Week 3.
Thought I would provide my thoughts on the LSU/Miss St game. Not sure we have really seen who each of these teams really are, but you have to like what LSU has done through their first 2 games. The offense hasn't shown too much just yet, but there really hasn't been a need. That's still their biggest question mark as a team, and while I truly believe Canada will make this a pretty good offense, I'm not convinced we are there yet. And Miss St's defense has looked pretty good this far, albeit against subpar competition.
On the other side of the ball, the defense has been lights out. I fully expect it to continue today- Nick Fitz has looked great but don't expect that type of output against this D. It reminds me a bit of Clemson/auburn last week, where we had two explosive offenses (from their prior week games) coming into a dog fight with 2 really good defenses. I think you have a similar situation here. These teams combine to average giving up 15pts a game (again, SOS hasn't been great).
I think LSU ultimately gets the win, but I expect a pretty tight, hard fought game. I do expect LSU's offense to struggle at times, but I also expect to see their D play to their potential and limit Nick and this offense. Recall what Aranda and this D was able to do to UL and Lamar Jackson at the end of last year. They actually have quite a history of limiting mobile quarterbacks. Miss St +7 and Under 54 would be my plays. BOL.
