Very solid Tuesday evening going 3-1 overall and picking up over 3 to the good. Orlando responded like expected. Was nice to see them come back out and show what they are made of. Pretty big matchup again Thursday night which I alluded to in Jimbo's thread my early thoughts and will detail more on Thursday if a play permits line depending.

This is going to seem like a crazy play. I have to though...

Detroit pk -110 2 units

Times are rough in 'Stons land. This is a transition year before cap space opens up and the young guns learn some more. The holdovers don't like it, the new coach is learning slowely and there is the element of Iverson to the team. Its rough right now but they have show some signs. I do think they will be a 5-7 seed obviously but tonight is a huge game. They are off a two game losing streak and host Boston and Cleveland at home on national TV this weekend. Unless one of those teams lays an egg, it could be a long losing streak again. Thats why the Minnesota game is so important. Minnesota has rolled in January behind McHale. Its great to see. This game is intangibles though..

Things I expect to see:

1. Renewed Detroit defense. When I say that I expect them to actually know their defensive assignments and refigure out what a pick and roll is.

2. Huge revenge game for the blowout Minny handed them earlier this year at the Palace

3. Sense of urgency for Detroit

Its tough to bet on this team at all right now. Only time I have in recent memory was the Toronto game last week. It was a more dysfunctional group and the line set up nice.

For the record, Minny opened a favorite. I got the PK and at same time saw Detroit -1 at a few places. Think the line is moving the correct way here.

Best of luck everyone

Was going to bash you for taking another layoff, but then I realized I just missed your thread today like an idiot. Could have used them with the rough day I had. Hate the Badgers.

I know man, its tough.

Been slowely starting to follow Minny a bit and hesitated Monday ngiht when I shouldn't have passed up that ML.

Situational spot. It will be rare to see any Detroit bets as we move forward. Trust me. It's getting ugly.

Saw quite a bit last two days about possible trade scenarios and this sorta stuff is popping up. Another rumor I saw today was incorporating Iverson back to Philly. Obvious some reaches but the bottom one is very interesting imo

Are the Detroit Pistons interested in acquiring Elton Brand?

Some speculation from the Philadelphia based website, Tom Moore the Philly Burbs 76ers blogger, about a recent ESPN chat with Chad Ford is speculating on a possible Pistons-76ers trade sending Elton Brand to Detroit.
January 27, PhilyBurbs: ESPN's Chad Ford said in a Tuesday online chat that "from what my sources around the league are saying, (Elton) Brand is available." Sixers president Ed Stefanski signed Brand to a five-year, $82 million contract on July 9. But Brand, a 10th-year power forward, hasn't had the on-court impact the Sixers had hoped and won seven of eight games at the end of a 16-game stretch he missed with a dislocated right shoulder.
Later, Ford wrote: "The question is, given how poorly (Brand has) played this year and his huge contract, does anyone want him (by the Feb. 19 trade deadline)?"
The 30-year-old Brand is earning $13.8 million this season.
Ford speculated that the Pistons might be interested in trading Philly native Rasheed Wallace, who is in the final year of his contract, for Brand, but doubted if Detroit president Joe Dumars would be willing to take back Brand's additional four years and $68 million.
Brand is an interesting player that was the top available free agent last summer, leaving the Los Angeles Clippers for the Philadelphia 76ers. The problem is that Brand missed almost the whole season last year with a ruptured left Achilles' tendon, a pretty serious injury, and has missed numerous games this season with a dislocated shoulder. Even though the two injuries are not related, with Brand turning 30 in a few months it raises a flag.
If Joe Dumars could be convinced that Brand would return to the same player he's been his whole career instead of the current version, then he would definitely think hard about trying to work out a deal with Philadelphia with the hopes of making Brand a Piston.
Although Ford's idea of sending Rasheed Wallace back home to his native Philadelphia seems like something that both teams would balk at. For the Pistons, this would leave the Pistons without the promise of the large amount of cap space that Dumars has been working to have for the summer of 2010.
For the 76ers, it's hard to believe that Stefanski would attempt to unload Brand for solely cap relief just months after committing to the star power forward. The 76ers would need more than the expiring contract of Rasheed Wallace. Rip Hamilton is another native Pennsylvanian, and the prospect of a Andre Miller-Rip Hamilton backcourt may be pretty enticing to Stefanski.
Detroit could send Rip Hamilton, Amir Johnson and Kwame Brown to Philadelphia for Elton Brand and native Detroiter Willie Green. This would keep Detroit in the running for big name free agents in both 2009 and 2010 and allow Joe Dumars to pitch a possible core of Rodney Stuckey, Tayshaun Prince and Elton Brand. If the team does well the rest of this season, Dumars may be inclined to offer Allen Iverson a reasonable contract to add to the mix.
Whether this is all just Chad Ford speculating or perhaps something that Ford has knowledge of is unknown. Although Ford's close relationship with Joe Dumars is something to keep in mind.
Stay tuned...

i watched the houston game the other night

AI was not the same AI i know...

They got a bad vibe goin on there now...dont like the mix or the coaching

i will drive elton brand to detroit to pick up AI

seriously...its snowing and everything

dont care, ill leave right now

I'm afraid to play the pistons at any point this season but best of luck bro

BAR, I just looked into this game more...I am very afraid for the Pistons, they might not even win a game the rest of the year... While the T-wolves has been on fire in the past week, they've played some tough opponents also. Leaning strongly the other way tonight bro, good health

Please tell me thats a joke???

Lol smokedawg, it WILL be a joke when they pull it off bro, they are shitless and helpless. They do not play as a team, every game I have watched them perform in this year thus far, they are a very selfish squad with a weak bench. It's obvious Billsup was the MVP of the team.

I don't like Detroit. I think your write-up is 80% wishful thinking. Detroit is in a slump, and the trade rumors doesn't help either.

This team will be a constant trade rumor the next 3 weeks.

Remember, situational handicapper here. Detroit in a revenge game and in the middle of a tough 5 game stretch. The wheels could fall off if they lose tonight. Now, Minnesota, this isn't a big game like years past due to Detroits average season. Their next home game though they have the conference leading Lakers coming in. Young teams always look up to games such as. It's hard for a coach to get them not to look ahead.

Detroit played its best offensive game in a long time Sunday night. Rasheed felt challenged and went inside to make things happen. He looks up to challenges and gets another tonight with one of the top post scorers in the NBA. The three guard tandem all looked very good Sunday. Tthere is plenty opf talk that AI didn't play much in 4th but the fact is he played 34 minutes and the two guards out there had to stay because they spearheaded the attack on both ends.

i agree with you in that the wheels could fall off with a loss, but part of me is thinking that they do fall off. understand the play, but i think they were in a pretty desperate spot vs houston and they shit themselves bad. if they couldn't do it there, not sure i can trust them here. i will definitely be playing them on sunday though

It's obvious Billsup was the MVP of the team.

Don't laugh now, but to me the team has not been the same since Big Ben left. He might be a neanderthal, but he grabbed a shitload of rebounds and made that D look nasty.

Basically breaking down Minnesota's 10-2 start in January

Beat Golden State w/o BR and CM. They lead for most of the game, and were up by DD with 5 minutes remaining where they played control the lead and won in the end.

Beat the Bulls the next night w/o Gooden, Hinrich and Deng. Were trailing the whole game, but went on a nice run to beat them in the 4th. This was there 1st winning streak of the year.

Next they beat Memphis...Memphis is horrible.

Next they beat OKC, Minny shto 45% from 3, and 52 % from the field...and opened with a 20pt lead..OKC was never in the game

Beat Milwaukee once again the wolves shot 40/50 from 2/3pt...

We lost to Miami as a pk I believe...game was close throughout...but vs a good team, with a star player...we folded.

We then went in and beat PHX at PHX...AJ hit a last second bucket...and PHX had a shot at a wide open 3...but Jrich missed it...PHX not playing well...and I believe Shaq was riding the pine for this one...Also the wolves have played well in PHX lately.

We beat the Clippers on MLK day...we got up early...but the Clippers came back...Im pretty sure the Clippers were short handed.

We lost at Utah next...they got up by 20 early...and Utah coasted...game was not as close as it seemed.

We then beat NO...who was without West/Chandler and I believe Armstrong...it was also a terrible spot for NO.

We then went in and Beat Milwaukee...who was playing there first game w/o Redd.

My point is this team has drastically improved and it has alot to do with Rashard McCants not playing. It also has to do with these guys starting to have fun, because there winning. But we also beat a bunch of horseshit teams like us, and a bunch of teams that were either shorthanded or had there best players sitting out. This is a game Minnesota always finds a way to lose. If Stuckey can contain Foye, and Sheed/Max/Johnson/Brown can contain AJ this is a 7-10pt win.

Interesting first half.

Minnesota is very impressive with their teamwork and the great play of Kevin Love. I think he had 9-6-3 in first half with two beautiful assists.

Detroit left a bit out there but love how they are pushing the ball. They must keep that up in second half. Do that, keep feeding sheed against Smith and make a few jumpers and they should be fine.

Thank you sir for another 2 units. Those that go against B.A.R. in the NBA are making low % wagers (ESPECIALLY A PISTONS GAME) . No offense meant to anyone that played the other side tonight , but this guy is the best NBA capper I have seen.
