NBA Opening Week Discussion

will be looking for a ty lawson point prop

he'll be getting 30-40 minutes a game until collison returns and the suns were awful LY at defending pgs

leans kings there too

I like Orlando, Memphis, Lakers/ TT Over Lakers (or overall Over), Bucks, Suns and Pistons.
But I doubt I will play anything tonight. No obvious leans, just small ones.
Without Beverly, Rockets have problems on the defensive end and Lakers have good guards to exploit it. They can concede 120 points and lose, but they can score 110+ points here... I think the hype around the Rockets is too big...
Hornets are a bit better than Bucks without Middleton, but still... my line is Bucks -1.5. Obviously +2 or -1.5 not a big difference to actually play it.
Memphis... Many injured and many return from injuries, but still... Both teams have coaches that will be very interesting to follow this season, but I feel that Memphis will want to make a statement for many that wrote off their playoff hopes... Still... Wolves started last season on fire on the road and struggled at home actually... Very interesting game to watch - this one, together with the game in Indiana and in Toronto maybe most interesting to watch (and the Rockets - Lakers game if you like all offense no defense type of game).
Suns... I don't believe in the Kings. This team can't get nothing right... Suns are a team that a bit hard to understand what to expect from them, but Kings on the road, as short dogs... not to be trusted imo...
Orlando with Vogel... should be interesting... Miami has very healthy organization, but took few big hits with Bosh and Wade leaving them. Dragic status is unknown, given all the trade rumors and Orlando would like nothing more than to win the derby. Orlando favorites for a good reason here imo...
Pistons - I think that even without Reggie, they are still a good team with a good coach, good players and Ish Smith can be a decent replacement for Reggie short term. Pistons will be unstable, but can win any team in any venue on any given night (you can say it about any team in the league, but I like the Pistons this season).
Raptors... I think they overperformed a bit the last two seasons and I don't think they got better this summer.

But those are just thoughts. Doubt I will make any plays...

Unusual to see such big spread movement this early.

Peeps really buying into Minnesota.
Everyone talking about how Thibodeau's going to turn the T-Wolves into this stellar defensive unit. I don't know, but last time I checked, Minnesota didn't exactly have Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah on this roster...

divisional games when game number=1 and total>200 are 78%U/O. checked the refs crew and both are slightly underish (BOS-BK) and (SAC-PHO)

Hugh and anyone else

Do you like any player props tonight? 5d has a bunch up and we can take advantage of some soft numbers before lines adjust... im just a little off with my matchups right now... dont want to force anything

too juicy for me

one more prop

Conley o6 assists +110 (5dimes)

Updated Card

Celtics -13.5
Magic/Raptors ML Parlay +120
M. Turner o21.5 points + boards
Grizzlies ML +102
M. Conley o6 assists +110

Don't understand all this love for minnesota tonight
similar situation last year with opener OTR vs. Lakers right after Flip died. They were small dogs, maybe 3 or so and won outright. Much better team this year but Memphis also much better than Lakers.

Its nothing like that situation lol

Teams with a the lesser amount of key position roster turnover during the offseason generally look better early.

Raps being one of them as were the Spurs.

indy's roster is better than toronto imo. They would matchup with the cavs nicely.... as long as they stay healthy

2h line scared me a lot so i was expecting it

nets played a lot better than i expected, very good for the talent level

42 3pt attempts for brooklyn.... take notice, thats the nets style now
Yup. Except other than Jeremy Lin, they really don't have anyone that should be attempting that many 3's, and that's what's going to end up costing them in transition on defense with those long rebounds...

Well Lin and Bogs....

Will probably Clips tonight. Their playoff loss to Portland due to injurues should make them focused enough tonight.

decent slate of games on tap for today;

games that interest me are the raps, mavs, total in brooklyn.

-alot of noise coming out of Toronto about how they are approaching this game as a playoff game, no doubt they remember last year but that doesn't always translate into production. A healthy jonas is huge for this team.

-made the line in dallas a little higher, don't like this rockets team without bev. Bench an issue for both? slight edge to the mavs at this point.

I like Dallas and Pistons here. I don't like Rockets this season, maybe even less than last year, especially without Beverly. Dallas is interesting team and coming off an OT loss in Indiana and there is no love lost between Houston and Dallas.
Pistons off a loss in Toronto, Orlando off a loss at home to the Heat. Pistons better team and should come out strong first season game at home...
