NBA In-Game Thread

3 of the 5 starters will start 4th and exit with 7+ mins left I'd assume

If mcdaniels plays that long I’d take it. If they leave anyone in you think it be a guy like him but this thing almost 40, I’m not sure they don’t clear bench pretty early in 4th

You'll definitely see a handful of mins to start 4th from a few.

No NBA coach going 12 mins with scrubs.

I actually was hunting a live over most of the quarter since that initial OKC burst (3rd only) and never could submit.

Juice was brutal.

Now I'm irritated lol.

Didn't really need that timeout in a 40 point game.

Quarter break coming up.

Feel like that's a NBA mandated TV timeout. They know they are missing late game timeouts + review commercials.

god damn Shame we have to suffer thru this trash in the wcf. Am I remembering my whole life wrong? Did nba playoffs always have these trash games? I don’t think so! It’s pathetic. Not mad at outcome, just sucks we can t get a remotely competitive game where we not watching g-league players.

Defense was never this bad, and scoring was never this high, so blowouts of this caliber never happened.

PLayoffs have been pretty damn good.

First round was awesome!

A handful of Denver and OKC were fantastic.

Boston and NY had tremendous games.

Indy and Cleveland also had some wild finishes.

Indy and NY start pretty epic too!

Yes, we always have blowouts. All part of it.

WCFs are tough this year because you have a team starting what could be the next dynasty playing a six seed. The West was odd this year to begin with.

Most enjoyable playoffs in years for myself. Tonight was boring, obviously.

To think we have a 3 vs 4 on one side and 1 vs 6 on the other, that wasn't remotely fathomable even 3 years ago that it could happen in the NBA

So true.

I'm not shocked out West.

Minnesota is more of a 3, maybe 4 but with how regular season is now treated we'll see this more and more.

Man we on totally different pages here. Not just saying it cause I’ve prob lost more these playoffs than any I can remember. Outside nuggets/clips the 1st round was nothing but trash, I’d bet my left nut more starters sat out more minutes than any playoffs I can remember cause these blowouts, maybe I’m cherry picking the bad. Maybe you cherry picking the good? I’m ok with the different teams and while I obviously preferred knowing who was gonna win that not what bothers me, it the redic games with teams shooting 50+ treys and so so many games decided before the 4th. I personally think it been awful. Even now we get 2 good teams and none the games close, it just hasn’t been good basketball imo. I’ve turned off more games with 15+ minutes to go than I can count. I swear it really nothing to do with fact I been losing, I can take losses but when I don’t even get entertainment value for my money it really sucks and there just hasn’t been that much entertainment overall imo. Maybe some of it the fact this year has sucked like no other for me in my personal life but I really don’t think that it. Just think there way more games decided way to soon and it makes no sense a team like okc losing by 40 if they cared. It really didn’t make sense the 8-10 point spreads they been smashing at home were never hardly in question . Feel pretty confident saying we used to get more competative games than trash decided in 3 qrtrs.

Obviously the amount of 3s has played a massive part in that, it also plays a massive part in some the comebacks and maybe that the part you like? I suppose I understand that but to me it just more very bad basketball when you get a 20+ point lead and can’t hold it cause your only offense is continuing to jack 3s so when they stop falling and the other teams start falling we get comebacks that really not exciting to me, some these games we might as well just have 3 point contest. Maybe I’m a grumpy old man but I’ve never turned so many playoff games off in my life cause it just isn’t entertaining. Yes there been moments but they been few and far between and easily outweighed by the garbage non competitive imo. I love hoops but I feel lucky if I’m able to finish watching 33% the games!!!

On a better note Sanchez wasn’t great but cashes his k prop!!

Thunder beat Memphis 4-0

TWO games in Memphis were excellent finishes.

Nuggets beat Clippers 4-3

THREE games were fantastic. One was solid. Three were anticlimactic.

Lakers beat Minnesota 4-2

FOUR games were in doubt till the 4th

Warriors beat the Rockets 4-3

TWO games were very good. Others were lopsided. Not the best 7 game series.

------

In the East, we had 7 and 8 seeds that didn't belong in the playoffs.

Cavs and Heat was pointless.

Magic actually gave Celtics THREE really rough games.

Knicks beat Detroit 4-2. This series was INCREDIBLE. Easily the best one of the first round.

- Four games to the last possession
- One wild comeback in G1
- 5 road wins.
- Intense, 90s style hoops

Pacers beat Milwaukee 4-1

Game 5 made up for anything you've ever hated in that series. Incredible OT game. Just incredible.

--- East 7 and 8 seeds hurt a lot.

-- OKC just a dominant team at times.

--- Warriors and Rockets were featured a lot and that doesn't help perception.

Anyways, I think we all look at stuff from betting perspective to shape as well.

For me, this was wildly entertaining at times. They let teams play and we saw some older era types of games at times.
